@Banksie When they announced these they also announced a Pro version (currently not showing on the website) those are switch 2 native protocol, but have standard rumble, and a few other missing features. Currently either version have pro's and con's as companies are struggling to reverse engineer the protocols fully.
@Kidfunkadelic83
Yeah i get that it's better than not having it, but as someone who has a PC id just play there rather than using the thinnest mouse ever made and using my sofa as a mouse mat.
Options are always good though.
@Ryu_Niiyama For me it's not about the size per se, more how thin that the Joycons are, just not comfortable at all for me, i need a little more chonk.
@Kidfunkadelic83 Funny how tastes differ eh, i haven't used the mouse controls once, and i got mine launch day. As for the triggers, yeah clicky, no analog as it's not supported on switch.
@Unit_DTH @The-Chosen-one There are two DPAD's included, the disc type one, and a straight up cross, i use the cross on the previous M6-HD controllers.
Been waiting for these for months, and they are still only taking pre-orders in batches which is a shame. I have the previous M6-HD for my Switch OLED (and i have the adapters to make them usable on Switch 2) and they are fantastic controllers, so these will be picked up once they are actually freely available to us normies, as it seems all initial batch stock went to youtubers and influencers and not paying customers.
This is the problem i have with Switch 2. It's all well and good saying these are coming to Switch, but most of them are old games already available on other platforms, so of no interest to me, cause if i was interested i would of already played them, and on superior hardware. I want some actual exclusive games to justify my purchase, and as i have absolutely no interest in Pokemon there really hasn't been anything for me since Donkey Kong, i'm interested in Starfox, but not at that ridiculous price (it's a remake of a remake, and they want virtually full price for it).
@AussieMcBucket No its a much more straight forward shooter with some puzzles, at least thats what the VR version is, i doubt this has changed to much.
Have this on Steam, and it really is great. Has a great style and a breakneck speed. Most levels can be completed in 30 seconds, and its just a rush that whole time, you start the level with limited time and earn extra time for every kill earning enough to reach the exit before your time runs out.
@The_Nintendo_Expat
Yeah this is a weird one, i have the VR remake on steam, so it was definitely already remade, but a quick google brings up a new "Remake" page on Steam, https://store.steampowered.com/app/4491360/The_7th_Guest_Remake/
so yeah, i'm gonna guess this is just a flat version of the VR remake, so the publishers calling it a remake is a little misleading.
@hanzel Yeah I've never had drift on any controller ever either, but I'm a adult and I look after my stuff. I do really like the Pro 2 controller, it's the most comfortable controller I've ever used, just a shame about the dpad and the lack of analog triggers (it's a pro controller, and the cost matches that, they could of added physical switches to switch between digital and analog like my 8BITDO Ultimate 2 I use for steam does).
@hanzel It's not perfect, the dpad is bad and you get erroneous inputs in 2D games, like your character crouching when you are trying to run, it's to sensitive.
"We wanted to give you an early heads-up that the Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection will no longer be available for purchase on digital storefronts after March 31, 2026." A early heads up would be announcing this at launch, it obviously rights related and they would of known the nature of that contract way prior to releasing the game.
The mobile/VR version of this were not good, and the fact that it has the low battery mode again leads me to believe this is a port of that version, so not a port of the PC/Console versions. So id absolutely wait for hands on/reviews for this one. It's a great game, but the mobile versions are not.
@PJOReilly The fact that they thought that higher resolution, on some of those terrible textures, over keeping what was there and doubling the framerate was the way to go, just shoes how far that studio has fallen. The reliance on that 20 year old engine that doesnt work in the modern day is making them a laughing stock. Also lets not forget that this piece of ***** is £52.99 if you dont own previous versions, has skyrim ever cost more in its 14 years on sale???
@AussieMcBucket It' admiral to continue to optimise after release??? Here's an idea, optimize it before you ask for my money!! Why are they releasing it unfinished with a poor framerate, if they can "just fix it later"? That's the literal definition of a unfinished product that is not ready for release.
@KoopaTheGamer They really are two different things though. Steamdeck is a actual x86 PC, with the pro's and con's that come with that (more power, less battery life, more fiddling and manual setup as it's a PC), whilst the Switch and Switch 2 are ARM based systems, so essentially phones/tablets with built in controls, and this also has pro's and con's (weaker hardware, better theoretical battery life if they were the same capacity, but they are not). It's why these ports are quite interesting as x86 and ARM are nothing alike and these games need a big re-write to work at all.
Having "Lots of tedious quest design" as a negative, but still giving it a 8 is a little weird. If playing the game the way its designed is tedious, why the 8? I am a little interested in this, but in all honestly i havent liked any of these "new" Assassins Creed games, and this one doesn't seem to be doing anything different, and from the reviewers own opinion it's "tedious". Probably pick it up when it drops below £10.
@JohnnyMind I feel old systems need it, more so on the TV than the handheld screen though. A 240p NES image blown up to 4K on a 65inch screen its real chunky, i was playing it on a 13inch CRT back in the day. I use CRT shaders in emulation all the time, it looks better on a large flatscreen as these games were arted with the scanlines in mind originally.
@Dr_Lugae Just shows that they review the games "as is" as they should, there fanboy-ism shouldn't factor into whether a game is any good or not. As a gamer who has all the consoles and and a PC, i appreciate the honesty and it allows me to spend my money elsewhere. ( i should add ive never been a Pokemon fan, but the releases have got lazier and lazier over the last 10 years, whilst sales have increased).
Ethernet has always been way faster for me (im on gigabit fibre), but the WiFi can only ever get to around 350Mb/s, so i always dock for downloads more than a GB or so.
Ill add though that the WiFi is far, far better than Switch 1.
Nintendo has patched it? It's not a Nintendo game, they published it, and it is of course a Nintendo IP, but it's "AAA Game Studios" who actually developed it, so would also be the people patching it. Maybe a bit pedantic, but it annoys me when people say something is a Nintendo game when it actually isn't, as they do publish games they don't make also.
This is people voting with their wallets, and im completely here for it. The game released in a terrible technical state, especially on PC. Those initial sales are because of the insane people who pre-order games without any prior knowledge as to the quality. As soon as said quality was revealed, people looked at reviews and performance and said no thanks, ill keep my money.
@Bunkerneath Sounds similar to the Mudrunner games, where the challenge/fun is just getting from A to B safely, a little like Death Stranding but for vehicles. Navigating ravines, rivers, steep hills, maybe having to use a tow rope, etc. I'm interested as Art Of Rally was a really great game (disclosure i played on PC and Steamdeck, not Switch).
@Gamer_Griff More lean code, means less ways for bugs to appear, and better optimization or compression, which could also improve load times. In code, yes less code to do the same thing is always preferable.
@Divide_and_Wander Personally i have had more than a dozen hard crashes back to the OS, but i havent had any since the last patch, so hopefully this patch is further progression and not a regression in that regard.
"Occasionally difficult to keep track of the action" The bain of all console/computer pinball games unfortunately, turns out depth percerption and seeing in 3D is kinda important for a lot of things.
@rvcolem1 Not to mention you play as a different character, with a new story, just that some of the supporting cast are returning, main character is completely new to the series.
@JayJ Blame Nintendo, they are still not handing out dev kits, and just telling devs to "make it for switch and use backwards compatibility to make it work on switch 2".
Ill be grabbing one of these for clone hero. My 6 button Guitar Hero Live Guitars are all nearly dead at this point (build quality of those is bad, but i do love the 2 rows of 3 button layout, so its gonna be a re-learning curve).
@OorWullie Yeah, it's my favourite. Leo is pretty decent too, but i couldn't ever get into either of the Final games, maybe i should revisit the PS2 version.

I wouldn't really call it a FPS, it is first person, and it does have shooting, but it's a narrative driven immersive sim/RPG at heart.
