First off; YES! FINALLY! Ugh I love Mario Sunshine... so happy
Now that that’s out of the way... What in the hell is this limited thing? Has anyone ever heard of limiting a flagship series to a six month release? I get that it’s for hype (congrats, you’ve succeeded) but holy sh*t, this game will be insane in price in a couple years, AND I am betting it’ll be sold out all the time. I really hope physical copies can find their way to everyone that wants one. Got my copy from Best Buy, I am not missing this one lol. Order while you can, ladies and gents! Not up on Amazon yet.
Wild guns is an amazing game, not to mention super expensive for the actual cartridge, so it’s nice to see it on here. Tetris attack is such a fun puzzler, too bad this original version won’t have Yoshi lol.
Here’s the thing; though I’d rather see them bolster their offerings with the switch online games, and make improvement to the switch UI in general (themes?), I truly believe that smartphone games wouldn’t be a bad thing. They wouldn’t kill the revenue of the switch, but draw in customers the way the nes and snes classic did. When I worked at a game store, people would often say how playing older Nintendo games made them want to give the switch a chance. So I see it as a good thing.
Plus, no matter what, there are many casual gamers out there who just want to play games on their phone. Who cares if Nintendo sells them the NES Mario games and makes them happy? Seems like a win for everyone. Besides, I doubt it would be much work (licensing aside) since Apple has a great partnership with Nintendo already.
Awesome. I’ve enjoyed seeing articles over there the past few days, been far too long since I had a good quality Xbox site in my life. Great job, guys!
The NA cover easily wins this one. That green hill zone in the background is visually pleasing, and personally I enjoy the black border with the master system request grid. I think the backgrounds of the other covers look a bit disjointed. Plus, the EU cover spelled “Genesis” wrong
Voted for the European cover, but I do have a soft spot for the 90s computer animated N64 covers. It is a perfect sign of that era, in my opinion. Quest is a fun series, tho the RPG on the GBC is much better than the 64 version.
Being a diehard Dragon Quest fan, I’d probably pick these up if they came west. That being said, I’d love it if they did an M2 style release and gave us gameplay tweaks... or even better- let us choose between a few graphical styles (NES, SNES, GBC, etc.) to really make it a good value for people who have played these (amazing) games many times. That’s why I’m double dipping on the DQ11 port, that retro mode blew me away.
So good. Loved grandia 1, haven’t been able to play 2. I’m pretty happy that the switch is getting so many games like this. I bet it’ll have as many rpgs as the 3DS by the time this gen is over.
This would be pretty cool if true. I remember being interested when it was coming to the Xbox. I still can’t believe it was cancelled! Microsoft needs all the exclusives they can get at this point.
I’m so conflicted, on one hand I’m relieved we finally got a western release date, but I’m also sad that it won’t be this year on the switch. Guess I’ll grab the PS4 version...
The button color is good, always reminded me of skittles lol. The one thing I don’t understand though is why the NA SNES has the superior convex/concave buttons, and why they never show up anywhere else, even on revisions. It would be the best of both worlds.
Kind of a bummer that Nintendo keeps releasing these games with special content, & day 1 adopters get burned. That Zelda special edition, the Mariokart deluxe steel book, splatoon 2, etc. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s great to do, and cool for people that don’t have it, but it makes me not want to get these games on day 1 since another version might release a few months later.
Indeed, a lot of the N64 covers were awful, especially Quest 64 or anything with that computer generated style of graphics. But damn, they do have a certain nostalgic “charm” to them, so I’m into it.
Thank you so much for all that you’ve done here on the site, and for the gaming community in general. Of all those that write on here (many amazing, talented people!) you are my favorite. I speak for many others when I say that you have helped rekindle love for Nintendo in a lot of people, and for that we are greatful. Good luck with whatever comes your way, and don’t be a stranger.
Glad to hear that the Switch is healthy. Nintendo really did a great job at recapturing the fun that is local multiplayer. Playing Splatoon or Mario Kart with 8 people in the same room is a certain kind of awesome chaos.
This game is pure magic. As a 25 year old, sometimes jaded gamer, this one had me gasping in surprise and laughing every few minutes. Truly a masterpiece, and I can’t wait to play more. 10/10.
It gets somewhat tiring to hear how inferior the NA SNES design is all the time, come on guys. I love both versions, but I honestly prefer the boxy design. That plus those concave controller buttons, it’s a win!
Edit: why would they take of castlevania and earthbound on the Japanese release? Pure classics.
So far I’m really enjoying this game. I almost always play switch in docked mode, but this seems like a great portable experience. If you like arcade golf or old school rpgs, check this out!
Heading down to Best Buy to wait in line... fingers crossed, my friends.
Either way, I love the body SNES look, but the super famicom has its merits as well if the buttons on the SFC controller were concave like the NA SNES, it’d be a true champ!

Re: This Battery-Free Game Boy Could Be The Future Of Portable Tech
Been training on the GBA Micro screen for years, I feel ready to play on this.
Re: Guide: Where To Buy Ring Fit Adventure For Nintendo Switch
So happy to finally get this! Time to work off the quarantine weight... lol
Re: Poll: Which Remastered Mario Games Would You Pick For A 'Super Mario All-Stars 2'?
Super Mario Sunshine is my favorite 3D Mario- I don’t know why it gets the hate that it does.
Such an amazing game
Re: Random: Is This Why We Never Got DLC For Super Mario Party On Switch?
Such a shame, honestly. I still think it’s the best game in the series, but it DESPERATELY needs more game boards.
Re: Nintendo Expands The Switch Online SNES And NES Service With Four More Titles
Wild guns is an amazing game, not to mention super expensive for the actual cartridge, so it’s nice to see it on here.
Tetris attack is such a fun puzzler, too bad this original version won’t have Yoshi lol.
Re: 3DS Sales See 73% Year-On-Year Decline, No Future Sales Forecast Provided
I still play 3DS once in a while, such a great system
But the reality is that it’s time is over in the retail scene. It had a great run!

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl #40 - Mega Man
To me, japan wins easily.
Re: Random: Nintendo's Hotline Used To Guide Super Metroid Players With This Forbidden Map
I love this type of stuff, the lore in the Nintendo hotline. Wish I could’ve worked there during that time!
Re: Random: Stephen Fry Is Somewhat Perplexed By Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Love the show QI, he’s a great dude. Even better knowing he plays AC!
Re: Site News: Say Hello To Our Resurrected Sister Site, Pure Xbox
Awesome. I’ve enjoyed seeing articles over there the past few days, been far too long since I had a good quality Xbox site in my life. Great job, guys!
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl #32 - Sonic The Hedgehog
The NA cover easily wins this one. That green hill zone in the background is visually pleasing, and personally I enjoy the black border with the master system request grid. I think the backgrounds of the other covers look a bit disjointed. Plus, the EU cover spelled “Genesis” wrong
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl #31 - Ghosts 'n Goblins
All somewhat close, but I’d say NA, then JP, EU on this one.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl #30 - Quest 64 / Holy Magic Century
Voted for the European cover, but I do have a soft spot for the 90s computer animated N64 covers. It is a perfect sign of that era, in my opinion. Quest is a fun series, tho the RPG on the GBC is much better than the 64 version.
Re: Atlus Wants To Know If You'd Like Persona, Etrian Odyssey And Other Past Games On Your Switch
Etrian Odyssey :’) such an amazing series.
Re: Nintendo Switch SNES Controllers Are Back In Stock In North America
This is honestly so depressing. they know the demand is there, yet sell out so fast...
Re: The First Three Dragon Quest Games Will Be Released On The Switch eShop In Japan
Being a diehard Dragon Quest fan, I’d probably pick these up if they came west. Re: Feature: Best Nintendo DS Games
No Etrian Odyssey games on here makes me sad, but great list overall!
Really makes you step back and marvel at how many amazing games were on the NDS.
Re: The Original Ittle Dew Brings Its Zelda-Inspired Adventure To Switch Next Week
Loved the sequel, but the loading times were awful.
Re: Layton's Mystery Journey - Deluxe Edition Gets Western Release Date On Switch
I’ve always been curious to try out this series, so I might pick this up.
Does anyone have recommendations on any 3DS game to start with? Or is it worth just waiting and getting this one?
Re: The Grandia HD Collection Is "Coming Soon" To Nintendo Switch
So good. Loved grandia 1, haven’t been able to play 2. I’m pretty happy that the switch is getting so many games like this. I bet it’ll have as many rpgs as the 3DS by the time this gen is over.
Re: Latest Switch Firmware Update Adds This Amazing "Hidden" Feature
Ittle Dew 2. That games load times have made it unplayable for me
Re: Rumour: PlatinumGames' Scalebound Is Being Revived As a Nintendo Switch Exclusive
This would be pretty cool if true. I remember being interested when it was coming to the Xbox. I still can’t believe it was cancelled! Microsoft needs all the exclusives they can get at this point.
Re: Nintendo Didn’t Want Yakuza Series, According To Sega’s Toshihiro Nagoshi
Kind of poor reasoning not to bring it to the switch with it’s huge audience when they only released it on a low selling console in one country.
Re: Etrian Odyssey Is Mapping Out One Final Adventure On Nintendo 3DS
I hope they find a way to continue this on the switch... always have loved this series.
Re: Leaked Labo Toy-Con Concepts Suggest Nintendo is Serious About Cardboard
Lol I loved it. Great job!
Re: Dragon Quest XI On Switch Will Arrive "Much Later" Than Other Versions
I’m so conflicted, on one hand I’m relieved we finally got a western release date, but I’m also sad that it won’t be this year on the switch. Guess I’ll grab the PS4 version...
Re: Rumour: New Wario Land Trademark Suggests New Instalment Might Be In The Works
Always have loved the Wario Land games, and 3 is one of my favorite games of all time. 4 & VB Wario Land get honorable mentions too!
Re: Korean Rating Suggests That Super Bomberman R Is Jumping Ship To PS4
Bit of a bummer, but at least more people will be able to play it I’m glad I got it day 1!
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Life's Favourite Games From Switch's First Year
Binding of Isaac! I’ve put way too many hours into that game.
Re: Hyperkin's New SupaBoy Has Superior Coloured Buttons And A 4:3 Screen Option
The button color is good, always reminded me of skittles lol. The one thing I don’t understand though is why the NA SNES has the superior convex/concave buttons, and why they never show up anywhere else, even on revisions. It would be the best of both worlds.
Re: Video: See The Real-Life Mario Players Recording Super Mario Odyssey's 'Jump Up, Super Star'
Playing that level in the game while this song was playing had me grinning from ear to ear. Super cool to see it like this.
Re: Rumour: Spyro Trilogy Coming To Multiple Formats Next Year After PS4 Exclusivity Ends
Two great series, can’t wait to play Spyro again
Re: Splatoon 2 To Receive 'Starter Edition' With Extra Goodies Thrown In Free Of Charge
Re: Wild Guns Reloaded Is Saddling Up For A Switch Release This Spring
Very cool. Have this on SNES and ps4, will probably grab it again just to play it on the go. Great game
Re: Random: These N64 Box Art Covers Have Not Aged Well
Indeed, a lot of the N64 covers were awful, especially Quest 64 or anything with that computer generated style of graphics.
But damn, they do have a certain nostalgic “charm” to them, so I’m into it.

Nice. At this point I think all of us on this site are pretty safe then. 😎
Re: Nintendo Switch Reaches 10 Million Global Sales In Its First Nine Months
Glad to hear that the Switch is healthy. Nintendo really did a great job at recapturing the fun that is local multiplayer. Playing Splatoon or Mario Kart with 8 people in the same room is a certain kind of awesome chaos.
Re: Super Mario Odyssey Has Already Cleared 2 Million Sales
What a great year to be a gamer the switch is on its way to becoming one of my favorite consoles of all time!
Re: Talking Point: The Nintendo Switch is Modernising, But Has a Long Way to Go
I’d enjoy having streaming apps on my Switch, but with so many devices to do that in 2017, I don’t mind having a gaming console for...gaming.
Re: Review: Super Mario Odyssey (Switch)
This game is pure magic. As a 25 year old, sometimes jaded gamer, this one had me gasping in surprise and laughing every few minutes. Truly a masterpiece, and I can’t wait to play more. 10/10.
Re: Nintendo Switch v4.0.0 Update Brought Surprise GameCube Controller Adapter Support
YES
Re: Hardware Review: The Super Famicom Mini Is For Hardcore Collectors Only
It gets somewhat tiring to hear how inferior the NA SNES design is all the time, come on guys. I love both versions, but I honestly prefer the boxy design. That plus those concave controller buttons, it’s a win!
Edit: why would they take of castlevania and earthbound on the Japanese release? Pure classics.
Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend? - The Triumphant(?) Return
Metroid on 3DS, FF9 on PS1, Zombies Ate My Neighbors on SNES, and hopefully a little Breath of the Wild on Switch!
Re: Feature: 20 Games That Aren't On The SNES Classic Mini, But Really Should Be
Drop DKC3 and replace it with Zombie Ate My Neighbors!
Re: Review: Golf Story (Switch eShop)
So far I’m really enjoying this game. I almost always play switch in docked mode, but this seems like a great portable experience. If you like arcade golf or old school rpgs, check this out!
Re: Gallery: The North American SNES Classic Mini Is Boxy, But Good
Heading down to Best Buy to wait in line... fingers crossed, my friends.
Either way, I love the body SNES look, but the super famicom has its merits as well if the buttons on the SFC controller were concave like the NA SNES, it’d be a true champ!
Re: Take a Look at the Art Book and Harbinger Class for Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth
Loved EO4, so I’ll be picking this one up as well. So ready to map out some dungeons again!
