Whether it's a behind the scenes sneak peek or a director's commentary, there's nothing quite like learning how the sausages are made. Especially so when you're talking about a bona fide banger in the form of 'Jump Up, Super Star' the big band hit that plays as you finish up in Super Mario Odyssey's New Donk City.
So here's an official - albeit short, sadly - video that shows the real-life Mario Players recording the song in-studio over in Japan. Much like the recent look at the recording of the Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle soundtrack released by Ubisoft last month, it's great to see just how many talented musicians were involved in the process.
Have you returned to New Donk City for Luigi's Balloon Challenge? Have you been filling your pockets with all the coins? Share the Mario love below...

Wow !
Would be cool if they went on tour
The music is like a TV commercial jingle.
I love these recordings. Great to see the passion. The same for Mario + Rabbids, Grant Kirkhope looked very happy.
I've always liked the old school music like this. Wish I could live in the 30's and 40's for a month or so.
I kinda had this image of the horns section jamming and being animated ala the band Chicago. But this is still cool to see. Song is just fabulous all the same.
I'm seeing a lot of the same folks that did the MK8 soundtrack. I guess Nintendo has a few go-to musicians.
Not trying to be a SJW, but any women in the room?
@Tandy255 The Japanese singer is a woman.
Why does it matter for? Hire people for their talent, not because they fulfill some invisible checklist.
@LUIGITORNADO Just an observation. They are all very talented musicians.
EDIT: The trombone section isn't shown very well. They might have a female musician.
This is awesome but it always annoys me that they don't sync the footage with the music...
@Tandy255 You dare assume their genders?
@Euler Touchė
Playing that level in the game while this song was playing had me grinning from ear to ear. Super cool to see it like this.
