So glad not to be a Netflix subscriber right now. And if I were, I’d be cancelling my subscription this minute. I loved Oxenfree, it was pretty unique. This studio had something going for them. I hope they find a way to reform somehow, after everybody gets some serious severance package.
Even on the official store, StarFox physical copies have been sold out for weeks, which voids the whole point the article is trying to make. On the contrary, it proves that the demand is much higher than what the industry is providing.
I loved the first game on PS3 and again on Switch 2, but no gyro on combat was really getting on my nerves. I've never played this and I'd love to, but I find that little pesky detail really offputting...
Great idea, let’s fuel the flames of speculation and collect hundreds of dream projects so that then we can all be disappointed by the merely 20+ real announcements. Clever!
I enjoyed the Animal Crossing aspects of the game, the management, but hated the dungeons, I'm sick of fighting in games. Did they ever patch an option to play a "story mode" where I could just enjoy the side of the game I like and skip the other?
I played it for a bit (before this update) and thought it ran rather well! (Though gyro aiming is missed indeed) Of course, any improvements are welcome!
With the development of the online store, physical stores, theme parks, movie franchises, etc., Nintendo is slowly but surely turning into the next Disney.
But investors are too short-sighted to see that.
That stock will triple in three years, mark my words.
Great article! This game saved my life during Covid, and it was actually the first time ever that I visibly noticed a physical improvement through exercise (what? I have SHOULDERS!). Ring Fit Adventure 2 is my most-wished game for Switch 2. Fingers Crossed!
Like @UltimateOtaku91 says, it's a very different matter to make a a game guaranteed to sell millions than one trying to find a minority audience. That minority , together, will have to pay for the full price of development. The same applies to lots of different "limited edition" products. It's tricky, but it is what it is. Production costs must be covered somehow (if you're lucky).
As far as I'm aware, the drifting issue only affected the first generation of Joy-Con and never or rarely Joy-Con produced from 2019 onwards. So I don't see it happening to the Joy-Con 2 anytime soon.
But of course you can't sell a replacement without creating some unfounded panic!
@WilloftheFans That's true especially for RPGs and certain other games. Personally I'm very much in favour of smaller games - I don't need to be playing the same old thing for hundreds of hours. But then it's my choice to buy smaller indie games instead. AAAs today are huge -and therefore expensive- whether we like it or not.
Initially, I was just as shocked by the game prices as everybody else.
But, on second thought, games have cost 60 € for a decade or two, and they have 10 or 50 times the amount of content (and pixels) they used to, so... I guess it makes sense.
Most of these remakes and resurrections seem to be full of flashy effects that make it nearly impossible to focus on the gameplay. At least judging by the trailers - I find that so off-putting I never really try the games myself. Are they really as bad as they make them look? Can the effects be disabled at least? I’d be up for some brick-breaking!!

Never really played a mainline FF game but... that must be the ugliest UI I've ever seen.
