Re: Yoko Taro's New Game Is A Swords-And-Sorcery Strategy RPG With Cards

coproll

Hand Of Fate like indeed. Could be fun but I wonder just how the replay value will turn out. A good boardgame can be played over and over again. Anyway, more boardgames on Switch is always a good thing.

Edit: that said, why was there never a good D&D game done properly in this fashion?! I always thought WiiU was a great machine for D&D (DM with gamepad, party with wii-motes). And now seeing these kind of cardgames show up i hope someone at wizard of the coasts should be triggered.

Re: Free Super Mario Party Update Gives Massive Boost To Online Play

coproll

I truly hope the lockdown opened Nintendo's eyes. Where are the multiplayer games with that Nintendo touch?! This update sure is nice but Super Mario Party is not a very interesting game. Although I have fun playing it now with my nephews. Now why this update and why now?! Animal Crossing i a huge succes, thanks to the lockdowns and thanks to the online mode. But there is also so much wasted potential. I opt for a Super Mario Party 2, with seamless online gameplay up to 8 players in any formation. 3 at my brothers house, two in my house and two separate friends that also hop in. Plus an option to save a long game and continue later. Plus diverse game modes. Plus a collection of adventurous boards. Nintendo can do it, Nintendo can serve the world in lockdown and make it a better place.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo And The Industry Needs To Get Serious About Game Preservation

coproll

Art is always remembered because of its beauty not because of the amount of money it made. If you consider your work as art, you better make sure it is well preserved. Otherwise all your efforts were for nothing. If games are art, the developers should fix this. And because consoles and computers are worthless because they will break down eventually this issue is something that may show how serious these companies are looking at their own legacy. They should really take advantage of the digital possibilities. Microsoft seems to lead the way with their new console. I hope the rest will follow.

Re: Talking Point: Are You Prepared To Spend $70 On The Latest Games?

coproll

bad timing due to the crisis we are facing now. and besides that, when games become that expensive i'll wait to make sure i'm bying games that are really that good. if they are not that good but i still like to collect a certain title, i'll wait for a price-drop of even longer to the point when the current gen becomes obsolete and prices drop. not a big change with how i do it now. i have limited money but i collect for more then 30 years now, so i'm not in a hurry, not at all.

Re: What Comes After Switch? Nintendo Discusses Plans For Future Game Consoles

coproll

@SwitchVogel yep you're right. And if you take away all the WiiU ports it is all very underwhelming. For me the only plus is to have some great games with me while i'm on the road. And i really miss the two screens while playing portable. So the situation is that i'm still playing a lot more on my Wii, WiiU and 3DS. Switch never really replaced any of these consoles with huge stream of fantastic releases.

Re: The Poor Old Nintendo 3DS Has Sold Just 620,000 Units In The Past Nine Months

coproll

Let's be honest here. When i travel by plain and train to and through countries in the Far East i always carry my 3ds with me, and leave my switch at home. Why?! Because the 3ds is way more robust compared to the switch, and when i need to react quickly in any situation the 3ds is easily closed and slipped into my pocket. I tried the Switch on the road but it doesn't work for me. I really hope Ninteno creates a new DS. It is good to see that it is still selling, that is saying something.....

Re: Anniversary: Nintendo 3DS Launched 8 Years Ago Today In Europe

coproll

looking back to the 3DS system i realise that more than often all those so called selling points and groundbreaking ideas like motion controls, stereoscopic 3D and the WiiU second screen are eventually ditched by Nintendo during the lifespan of those consoles. that is why i'm still not convinced with the switch's selling point, the portablitity. why? because the battery sucks and because i really think that games for a portable machine need a different design when compared to games you play on the big screen. so yes, i still think gaming in 3D is fantastic. And those games that took full advantage of the technique are supergreat indeed. it is a shame that the 3D adventure now ends with the end of the 3DS lifespan. i still play on my 3DS a lot. it is a great system to carry around.

Re: Nintendo Offering Exclusive Splatoon 2 Gear For 12-Month Switch Online Subscribers

coproll

The point is, what is the type of player Nintendo is aiming at with the switch, kids or grown ups. i saw a few interesting video's handling this topic. My kids play the heck out the ps4, why? Because all their classmates are on ps4, (none of their friends are on Switch). No app but that great dualshock controller in which they can plug in their headset and they are in parties chatting with eachother even while there not playing the same game. And when they like to show that to eachother they can share the screen. And it all works seamless. I think that is worth the money, plus the extra psn games. Now Nintendo, their service is cheaper. But i got my NES and SNES mini already up and running so i'm in no shortage of NES games. Besides, i have my original nes, snes and so on, still working. When i get the 12 month subscription, then why do i need to log in within 7 days?! I take my switch on the road a lot, sometimes without connecting to the internet for a week or so. Then, third party developpers stated they are happy with the switch salesnumbers. Which proves that a decent part of the community are no kids, at all. Then why does Nintendo still behaves like their buyers are little kids?! It beats me. This online service is a lousy excuse to take your money without giving any value in return, and to mask this they put in all this NES stuff, which is also cheap as hell. I'm a fan since the beginning, supported every system, even like my WiiU a lot, but now i'm drifting away from them. It is not all that bad. But i already got MK8 on my WiiU, and still play that game, yes, no problems finding a group to race with these days but now i have to pay to play the same game on Switch. It just not feels ok. Even the original Splatoon is still alive on WiiU. So i gues the WiiU will probably see some old players returning to that doomed console. This is a bizarre situation, totally. Looking forward to a lot of Switch games, but i will avoid online games and wait to see how this will develop in the near future.

Re: Editorial: Nintendo, Somehow, Has Gone Backwards With Voice Chat on the Switch

coproll

My Vita can VC with any group of friends online on my ps4, without headset. Is the hypesmoke clearing up? After the WiiU, the Switch is nothing more of the same crap from Nintendo. Yes i bought a Switch and a WiiU, because i love a few good Nintendo games to play around with. But with every new console they come with so much crap that even Nintendo themselves don't know what they just released to the world. Every time there is something so badly designed that it fails by todays standards. I mean, the Switch battery is so bad, so lousy, how could Splatoon2 even be a portable multiplayer succes when there are no wallsockets, powerbanks or carchargers when on the go. When you play for 2 hrs you have to stop. A Usb connector only on the bottom of the screen?! Even the WiiU gamepad has a better designchoice. It is stupid. Then this online vc failure. Shows Nintendo thinks only kids under the age of 10 are playing their games while i think the installed base is much older. It is stupid and a disgrace. I felt screwed with my WiiU and i'm having some sort of the same experience with the Switch (you get used to it eventually). But more important; look at all this from a developpers point of view. 'Why in the world' is what i think. My 3ds is still one of my favorate handhelds and i see a future for the Switch where the handheld option is barely used. So i hope for a PlayStation TV solution for the Switch. Ditch the screen and a return to a simple console with a nice wireless controller. It is possible with the Switch. Day one purchase for me. If Nintendo wasn't creating a few good games every now and then......i'm a fan, of Nintendo games!

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of the Nintendo Switch Presentation?

coproll

@darthstuey yeah i still buy a lot for the old systems. But tbh i'm playing the heck out of my PS4 now. Well, my daughter is, she's fully into Overwatch, thanks to Splatoon btw, that game introduced her to the basics of online shooters. And it still is a fun game, as is Overwatch of course.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of the Nintendo Switch Presentation?

coproll

@darthstuey and i didn't even mention VC, because i own all Nintendo system and a lot of games. So i'm not really bothering VC. But i can see how frustrating it is. And i have also a PSN account and see how simple things can be. Just release a great game and sell consoles, and make another great game, and another. Do not hold back a game everyone is waiting for and bought your console for. Like with WiiU. That strategy sucks, real hard. We could have Zelda WiiU a year ago, and we should now look at Zelda Switch. It's the WiiU story all over again. And don't forget how many developers were on the train when WiiU was shown. And don't forget how many developers holded back their wares because of poor sales. Same thing could happen again. Likely when people buy the first wave and show their disappointment with the system. It is crystal clear, Nintendo i looking way too hard for socalled new ways of gaming. We know that now. Why isn't there anyone at Nintendo who says, he guys, let do something different, let's make a great console, with super graphics great games line up and backwards compatible, maybe even in a download form, hence the unique nintendo codes. It is all there but they choose to create something nobody really needs. A few good titles aren't gonna save the damn thing. Not for me anyway. I'm getting a switch, but not now. I want Nintendo to show me first there worth my hard earned cash. I pre-ordered BOTWWiiU.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of the Nintendo Switch Presentation?

coproll

Huge disappointment tbh. BOTW is a game that was intended for WiiU and MK8 deluxe finally shows the battle mode that should be available for WiiU a long long time ago, they were holding that battle mode back for sure. But it's the same game. A slap in the face for everyone who bought MKWiiU. This move painfully shows Nintendo's strategy. And that strategy sucks imho. The WiiU isn't a bad system after all. It was just marketed very very poor. And they might have thought what to do gain the attention of gamers in general. So they must have paid a lot of money to convince Bethesda to port Skyrim to the Switch, but this is also an old game which i own already on two other systems. All the other stuff that was shown was just mediocre while those launch games are looking really bad. 1 2 Switch is a laugh, really. WTH a game where you don't have to watch any screen?! I tell you, you actually can go out and play a pirate game in the woods. Somany games you can play without a screen or even without joy-cons. I still love my WiiU and i see the same thing happening with Switch, all over again. I gave Nintendo my money without a thought when WiiU came out. But now i see this development i'm holding back. BOTW will be playing fine on WiiU and with all my other consoles i won't have a boring moment in my spare time. So maybe along the line Nintendo can convince me to buy a Switch, but for now, huge letdown. I'm gaming on Nintendo systems since the eighties and think Nintendo still has the power but should really make other choices. What i just saw makes no sense at all. my 2 cents, ok make it 5.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Nintendo's E3 Digital Event?

coproll

@Toadthefox
exactly, everything we saw in the presentation feels rushed, shallow and not even close to the golden gameplay like we all know nintendo can bring us. i simply don't understand why they think that we will buy all this and simply hop to the next console when it's released. i will check every game that comes out and take my words back when i'm wrong but for now it feels like cheap talk and totally disconnected from the fanbase, completely. i rather look at a crappy presentation full of great games then a muppetshow with this news. they should put there creative energy in making great games instead of over the top marketing.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Nintendo's E3 Digital Event?

coproll

Everything is already been said: nice puppets, poor content. Now let's assume for a second that Nintendo will releasing NX next year. How many people do they actually think will buy this new console or whatever it may be. Maybe Nintendo is saving up ZeldaU as a release title for NX and to attract buyers. But since i bought every Nintendo console since day one i feel a bit cheated with my WiiU with only a handful of titles. I'm playing the heck out of MK8, pikmin and Splatoon etc. But i fear for what's coming up. I'm in doubt if i will support NX. Nintendo is losing my interest because all these spinoffs they showed today are way too kiddy for my taste (and age LOL). I get Starfox and XenobladeX when available but that's seems to be it for a long time. And oh yes, i hate Amiibo. These kidstoys screw the experience. I totally understand the revenue model of Amiibo but to me this is just an artificial way to create interest without making something really interesting; a decent game. In other words, plastic crap. I think i'll startup an old classic again.
