Re: Capcom Has No Plans To Infect The Nintendo Switch With Resident Evil "At The Moment"

cheonsacz

Worst news of the day. I love RE and I think it would be perfect for the Switch. I don't care if someone thinks RE7 is a bad or boring game (did you actually played through and finished it or are you just judging based on the demo?). Yes it's not the same as pevious titles (obviously), but I still want to play it on the go >.>. Some people really need to move on from the past...

Nintendo makes me more and more hesistant to invest in the Switch (it's not their fault exactly since the decision was made by Capcom, but there is still too many issues hard to ignore)...

@SLIGEACH_EIRE At first I refused to believe such statement, but now it seems very likely. People who would buy Switch will be mainly die-hard fans of Nintendo and Nintendo is already losing those fans's interest in purchasing it...

Re: Reggie on Wii U Support Going Forward

cheonsacz

@Paddle1 Oh I see now. I thought you meant the Switch was made only as replacement for Wii U , but this makes sense

@JaxonH Now I'd like to visit your place, looks like a heaven for a gamer :3

@jbopatrick glad to see someone who also agrees that Wii was a different line. I think that's what Nintendo wants to avoid, people confusing Switch with another "Wii".

Re: Review: Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King (3DS)

@Rei I often purchase from UK stores as they tend to have good prices and often free shipping to overseas. Envy my friends that moved to UK. But sadly lot of things are not purchasable even in UK (mostly Japan and Korea only stuff) and percentually, I always see more of US sellers than those Europe based, on sites like Amazon and eBay. Which only shows that in terms of market, USA still holds the crown.

You indeed are lucky, even though France is going through very rough times due to all what happened and is still happening, it's one of Europe countries I always dreamed of visiting. Not only because of Paris and the "romantic" approach, but also because of the history (interesting to see Napoleon is considered hero in France, but lot of other countries consider him villain. I find him amusing as a important figure in our human history), cuisine, sights and because France had a huge manga support much earlier than for example my country (czech r.). I always wanted to see what a manga translated to french looks like (in czech language it looks really weird and funny so I prefer reading it in english or korean). It's difficult to learn french, but a beautiful language indeed.

By the way got a chance to try the game today. If it plays as well as it sounds in this first look/review I definitely will consider buying a retail version.

Re: Reggie on Wii U Support Going Forward

cheonsacz

If TL:DR and just skip to the last paragraph, lol XD

@Paddle1 Uhm no I will continue to disagree. Wii U was on downfall (or going downhill if that sounds better) long before we heard the rumours about "NX". The console failed miserably and Nintendo are smart enough to distance the Switch from the Wii U as far as possible.

Switch is hybrid nothing can change that, it's a fact. One of a kind. Switch was never intended to replace Wii U since Wii was completely different approach at gaming and target audience - Wii as family friendly, perfect for party games , sport-friendly (ideal personal fitness trainer), typical Nintendo style. On the other hand there is Switch, targeting mostly adult audience (gamers), different approach, completely new look, connects handheld and console gaming perfectly, finally offers some well known titles targeted at bigger fanbases than just those of Nintendo and offering games for wider audience than games made for Japan market only (which was a huge issue on 3DS, the lack of localizations of many great Japan only titles without an option to import only through using exploit, since 3DS is region-locked). Skyrim be a great example of a bight gaming future for the Switch (if it sales well, ehem).

Maybe less powerful in terms of power (didn't try so can't judge), definitely weak launch line (subjective opinion), ovepriced accessories and games, lack of information. But so far it had much better start and response than Wii U/3DS and it's not even out yet and I already love half the announced games. Switch has potential and needs to show it off, which is something Wii U failed badly at - but that's for different topic. This is not about if Switch is superior to Wii U or not. This is not even about replacing Wii U. Yes Wii U failed in sales, but I all I hear from Wii U owners is praising the titles Wii U managed to get. This is about ending the support for Wii U officialy rather than using excuses and finding reasons why developers had to cancel this and that game and make it Switch-only.

Wii U was badly marketed and that was like shooting their own eye, but it definitely was not a bad console that deserves such a quick "death" and abandonment. I really feel bad for those who invested hours of gameplay (and money) into Wii U games, who supported Nintendo by purchasing Wii U titles even though Nintendo always seemed to avoid anything that was/is Wii U related and iignoring all the issues. An in the end they get nothing in return. And I pretty much regret missing out on this gem, but I'm more a handheld type of a gamer. Nintendo just pretty much gave Wii U owners a slap across the face.

And just because Nintendo calls it a home console, it still does not make it a Wii U replacement (not a direct one at least). Nintendo can call it anything they please but most important is the purpose of their product and where lies their goal - which is, believe it or not, connecting handheld and console gaming for now. Wii U tried something similiar but failed which just added more reasons why people thought Wii U was just a bad enhanced version of the Wii.

@aaronsullivan Hi there, for now I'm a complete stranger, but I'm pobably one of those you mentioned that chimed on what @Phin68 said. I think he mostly meant it as a half joke made out of disappointment, I can be wrong though since he has yet to comment on the matter (which he is not entitled to of course). I wouldn't call it lying, I said before to me it's just a promise they broke and didn't keep. But promises are often what trust is supposed to be build upon. And seems humans never learn (say hello dear politicans). I just hope they will keep the promise about ŠDS support, but judging from the games still announced for the 3DS, there is a undying hope.

Re: Reggie on Wii U Support Going Forward

cheonsacz

@Paddle1 I don't know how many times we will need to repeat it, but once again - Switch is hybrid. Both handheld and home console. That's what it makes diferrent. You can't connect Vita to TV and you can't bring Wii U pad outside at will. Switch connects both.

Re: Reggie on Wii U Support Going Forward

cheonsacz

@RootsGenoa I'm glad we finally sorted it and cleared the misunderstanding. I didn't think of it as of argument, it's just I rarely use emoticons so my comments may seem more serious/mean than they were intended to be. Sorry for the confusion

@xandexdur_ Haha that's all right. It's hard to tell one's gender just by their comments or avatar. And I feel you... in my country there is such a small Nintendo fanbase that I havent met anyone with a Nintendo console/handheld in years and my streetpass hit last year was 1. Too bad they stopped supporting Brazil, I always though such a big country would get more attention. I recently checked the Switch price and they raised it again in two local stores there from 315 bucks to around 340 - with no bundle or anything extra. Just because of tax... while others will get it in most countries at 300 :-/. I'm slowly giving up hope of getting Switch at all and I may get a second one 3DS instead heh.

@Action51 Uhm wow there... I think everyone should calm down a bit. NO ONE is saying or implying that Nintendo should support 3DS forever. The support will end one day, same will come in future with the Switch. It's something that is inevitable in the world of gaming. BUT it does not have to happen tomorrow, on the launch day of the Switch or even this year. I see nothing bad about Nintendo continuing their 3DS's support. I'll be glad if they will support the online service (and their servers) as long as possible, but that does not influence my opinion on Switch. The price and the price of the games does, but that's a different thing for a different discussion. I'm pretty sure @Phin68 wasn't implying in any way that Nintendo should support all the old gens. But unlike NES (not counting NES mini) which has been "in the heaven" for many years (heh many decades more likely) 3DS IS still a huge success in Japan, still managing to maintain second place right after PS4. There is no need to rush and end all support for a handheld that still sales and is the main profit of Nintendo. Wii U is a different story since it was a failure in terms of sales, but everyone I know who owns Wii U, they don't regret buying it. I actually envy Wii U owners because they got lot of awesome titles and is sad to see Nintendo abandon it completely...

Also this is not some old news from years ago mistaken with a different console/handheld. The statement of Nintendo's Switch not being a replacement for the 3DS is pretty recent. Nintendo also said (confirmed) pretty recently that Switch is not backward compatitible with 3DS/Wii U (physically I think, not sure about digital since I don't know much about this stuff). I wonder though why it bothers you and others so much. It's not like Nintendo said they will continue support 3DS forever and abandon Switch. And no one is forcing people to keep playing on 3DS or buying the titles that will be released this year on 3DS, and not to move to the Switch, quite the opposite. But I think many like me who have average month payment and love gaming don't really want to spend on a hybrid that didn't showed much yet with overpriced games.

@Paddle1 Discontinuing of a product is not the same as replacement though. Switch is not a next gen for Wii line. It's not called Wii U 2 and has different approach. They just discontinued the production of new Wii U consoles, but there won't be any "New" Wii U coming. You still will be able to play on your Wii U, but you won't be able to get a new one (if it gets broken) or new titles with the new Zelda being the last one. Wii U WAS replacement of Wii (and one of the reason it was profit failure since people didn't felt the need to upgrade from Wii) and same goes for 3DS replacing the DS line. But Switch is very different. Wii U was sadly failure even though it had many great titles.

@Rman12 This. Too bad I can't give more hearts than one. You said (worded) it very nicely and in much less paragraphs than me lol (I just don't want to spam the comment's section by replying to everyone separately so I just re-edit and put it in my original/most recent comment heh).

Re: Reggie on Wii U Support Going Forward

cheonsacz

@RootsGenoa I think you misunderstood. I wasn't saying Switch is worse. I was saying that Switch is superior to 3DS. I just mistyped inferior and didn't notice til now. Again I don't own Wii U, I never did and have no reason to talk about it in terms of comparison. And I was talking to someone else by the way. I will fix the wording though.

btw: English is not my native language

Re: Reggie on Wii U Support Going Forward

cheonsacz

@xandexdur_ Thank you, but I'm not sir. If anything "Miss" would be more precise haha XD yes same for me with the 3DS. I invested in it, bought it just recently (last year in summer) so I don't plan on throwing it out of the window and purchase Switch right away. I will save for it, but not buying it dy 1, maybe not even this year. And yeah, tax is always killing me. Though I'm shocked to hear the tax is even higher in Brazil than here. Can't imagine how they will price the Switch games including tax :-/ Would be great if we had unlimited wallet and could just spend... or if they just made the tax smaller...

Re: Reggie on Wii U Support Going Forward

cheonsacz

@RootsGenoa First I don't own Wii U, I never did and I don't plan to. I don't watch videos with Wii U gameplay so I can't compare. So no, I'm NOT kidding. Second I pointed that out only because people think 3DS being supported by Nintendo will stand in the way of the Switch, but I'm not going to repeat my comment.

Re: Preview: Feeling Warm and Fuzzy With Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World

cheonsacz

I don't care about Wii U. Yes on Wii U it's in HD, but I'm not going waste money on a Wii U to play game in HD when I can simply play it on handheld now (and also I'm saving for Switch). The video (and I usually love Alex's videos) is clearly unfair since the N3DS resolution is significantly smaller than the of Wii U. So again most people who don't know the difference will think the 3DS version is a crappy worthless port...

Re: First Impressions: Getting Strategic in Disgaea 5 Complete

cheonsacz

The last Disgaea I played was on DS and I really loved it. Had hours of fun in the game. I think it was mainly because the story was a lot like in the anime which I saw first. Disgaea 5 looks rather nice, but I don't think I would enjoy it without Laharl, Etna and Flonne (they are available only through DLC). I think II'll pick up the PC version instead.

Re: Editorial: Pricing Blunders Have Distorted The Narrative Around Nintendo Switch

cheonsacz

That's what I don't like about subjective criticism and when anyone on the internet can make a video about something they have no idea about. Instead of pointing out ALL the cons and pros, most of those YouTubers (and articles) focus solely on the cons. I don't know if it's some conspiracy of sort (probably from anti-Nintendo group, if such one exist) or people are just prejudical (which is not surprisig at all). All the fairly unfair hate Nintendo is getting seems to attract people more than serious articles and videos with factual information. That's probably the reason so many people love to poke fun at Nintendo (well... make fun of, precisely) and without any factual information call the Switch a "gaming phablet" which is so far from truth as much as it can be.

But it is also true, that most people I talked to about Switch, thought it was a cool idea and interestingly looking "hybrid", but that was as far as they interest got (and most of them still think it's a handheld). They wouldn't buy it and they would rather buy new games for PS4/XBOX or the consoles. And what's the worst is the fact I can't provide them with much information, because honestly there's not that many and most of the upcoming games are titles that have strong fanbase and arent widely as popular as in Japan or within Nintendo's fans (the only game most people I spoke to ever heard about was Mario and Pokemon Go which ironically wasn't even made by Nintendo, but Niantic).

I think the lack of information, weak launch titles, overpriced games (tax/vat is not Nintendo's fault though) and no bundle yet are the main issue and thus the reason why there is so many negative videos and articles around (that's why I love NL, they always make articles that tell us not only the good points, but also the bad ones thus being rather objective than subjective). Not to mention all the accessories that are pretty costly too. Switch was supposed to be something we never seen before, a whole new gaming experience. So far it didn't reach that goal yet and was more disappointing than exciting.

But we still got a lot of time ahead before the Switch's official launch and whole year for the Switch (and all upcoming games) to settle down. This year will definitely tell the future of the Switch, be it success or another sad failure.

Re: Reggie on Wii U Support Going Forward

cheonsacz

@Peach64 That's true indeed. I remember they supported PS2 for many years even after the PS3 was already out (PS2 was the only Sony product I ever owned, surely purchsed for Final Fantasy titles lol). My little cousin still plays on PS3 everyday and loves it. Of course he would love to get PS4, but this is just another proof that old does not always equal to bad. I feel really bad about how the Wii U ended up... I didn't even got a chance to try it, heh.

Re: Reggie on Wii U Support Going Forward

cheonsacz

This is a bit off topic, but some comments really surprised me and made me wonder about one thing:

Why people want 3DS to go into it's grave so much? That's pretty harsh. No one forces you to not play on Switch only, no one forces you to keep using 3DS. If Nintendo will keep supporting 3DS that does not mean the Switch is in any danger. To be honest 80-90% of people who will buy Switch, will probably be Nintendo's loyal fans. Especially if the games will be overpriced and no interesting bundles coming.

Most people I talked to so far about Switch said it looks cool, but they are not interested (most reasons being Sony, heh) and that they prefer playing on console-solely. I think Nintendo clearly shows their current focus is fully on the Switch, but why they need abandon 3DS which is still highly popular in Japan and millions of people still own the handheld? It's not the same case as with Wii U which was in terms of sales (not in terms of the console itself) a failure. That's a fact. But 3DS was NOT a failure. Why are you so unwilling to let Nintendo support both their handheld and hybrid (aka next gen)? Sony still supports PS3 and PSV even though there is PS4 for quite some time already and people still call Vita dead even with the huge amount of Vita games released each month. I'm sorry if I sound mean or dumb, but I just don't get it - the "hate" or "disgust" or whatever I should call the issue you have with 3DS's future support.

Don't you feel pretty selfish thouh? I mean from the perspective of loyal fans that have been playing on 3DS for ages and still want to enjoy online support. Not everyone will be able to afford the new gen straight away and lot of people will stick to 3DS before definitely moving to Switch. Well some people still enjoy their O3DS and don't think about moving to Switch. Personally I'm going to support both the Switch and 3DS.

But back to the article. I don't own Wii U, but is it truly sad news to see they broke their promise. The big talk about Switch NOT being replacement for the Wii U and 3DS seems really laughable now (unless NL posted a fake article). I wonder what will be the tale of the Switch in 4-6 years in the future. Same as Wii U? Or as 3DS? Maybe even better? Only time and the first sales will tell...

@Phin68 Couldn't said it better haha

@nhSnork Actually it was not so long ago (pretty recent article) that I read the official Nintendo statement saying the Swith (yes the Switch, not NX) won't replace Wii U and 3DS. That's why I dislike people who make promises they can't keep or break them easily. Better no promise at all than an empty one.

@Anti-Matter high 5! The lifespan end for 3DS is inevitable, but I hope it won't happen any soon. I don't get why people think a Nintendo's support of 3DS will be in any way for the Switch. The Switch is already inferior to 3DS (EDIT I think everyone else got that I meant superior, not inferior, but just in case someone else misunderstand I did meant to say that 3DS is inferior to Switch, not opposite) in terms of hardware and graphics. But it's definitely the most comfortable handheld I ever had with tons of great titles I can spend hours of gameplay in.

@fluggy Sadly that's how I would call Nintendo's (and any company making profit) "cash grab" strategy. As long as they can make money of it, they will keep making ports and enhanced versions of their games while forcing those who already own the game to purchase it again for a full price with no benefits. One of the reasons I was so unsure while deciding if to go for 3DS or Vita. 3DS won, because their games are just my taste and while Vita gets lot of visual novels which I miss playing, Nintendo's games are just more... fun in general.

Re: 1-2-Switch Looks Set To Include At Least 20 Minigames

cheonsacz

@PorllM I definitely won't buy day 1. I'll pick it up (the Switch) when they'll offer a nice bundle with a game I like. I don't mind if I have to wait til next Christmas or Black Friday, because I still got lot of games on 3DS I didn't play and more still coming, like DQVIII today. I also got my N3DS last year in summer(I used to own O3DS two years before though) so I'm not the impatient type of person who needs to have every current tech. I think the first year will be mainly "cash crab" for Nintendo with the Switch and next year it will calm down a little. But if all the games I'm interested in will all be 50-70 bucks then I won't pick the Switch in the end, because that's too much.

Re: Review: Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King (3DS)

cheonsacz

@Rei Well every country's taxes (vat) are different. And tax is way higher in Europe than for example in USA or Asia. It sucks, but we can't do anything about it. I'm not giving up tough. I'll save after getting Switch first (or maybe not if the insane price of the games won't drop lol)

Re: 1-2-Switch Looks Set To Include At Least 20 Minigames

cheonsacz

@PorllM Well true. But just the whole idea (which is definitely interesting and fun and does not require real guns lol) seems like it won't last very long. Of course that's how mini games work (at least that's what I think). They are intended to be short and fun and I loved Nes Remix. But the price still bothers me. Not that I'm some kind of scrooge who is stingy with money, but I'm average person who is in disability pension (that's not excuse even if it may sounds so, just pointing out I really need to think about everything twice before I invest into it) so I can't afford to spend thoughtlessly on everything I like. And so far all the games for Switch cost double the average price of games on other consoles and handhelds. All the games I saw in my local store on pre-order are between $40-70 which honestly is too much. For example if I was going to buy 4 games I'm interested in (the only ones available for pre-order in the local store) for the price they are on pre-oder I would have to pay cca $270 which is almost the price of the Switch. Not to mention I just checked the local store and they raised the price from cca $315 to $350. I can only hope the price of the games and Switch will still drop. But my point is that cca $570 is more than half of average monthly payment in my country and I guess most people have average job with average monthly payment so they also can't afford to buy everything at once. And if they can they have my envy XD

Re: Video: Let's Weigh Up the Good & Bad Things About the Nintendo Switch

cheonsacz

Sadly, but in all honesty, there were more cons than pros (in my humble subjective opinion). I think it's pointless to keep repeating them, but the "no bundle" and overpriced games is what put me off the most. I still will buy the Switch when the right time comes, but not buying a day 1. Of course the outcome still might change for much better when the Switch is finally out and we will fully experience all the games available for it (and more will come in the future). So far some of the titles looks really amazing, but the launch line is pretty weak. But I'm glad the price of the console is not over 300 bucks. I naively hoped for 250, but still it's affordable and if we compare it with the past, N3DS XL was only a one third (or quarter?) cheaper than the Switch and N3DS is definitely inferior to the Switch. So I won't complain about it because the price could have been much worse, like 300-400 bucks.
Also I'm glad that Zelda will be launch title because I know Zelda has a huge fanbase. But I personally, I'm not really a fan of the Zelda games so I would have preferred a Mario launch title, but I understand it that Nintendo wants Switch to look more mature and attrack adult gamers and Mario, no matter how good, looks still like a game aimd at kids.

Also the paid online service is a half con half pro for me. A half con, because I'm yet unsure it is worth the price for what they offer and half pro, because I don't really play online (which means I don't have to subscribe and just stick to offline play).

My conclusion is that I will buy the Switch and later few games to play on (probably Mario Kart 8, Mario Odyssey, Syberia 3, Splatoon 2 and DQH and DQXI if it gets localized), but I will stick to my 3DS for the time being, til price drops and we get much more (localized) titles to choose from.

Re: 1-2-Switch Looks Set To Include At Least 20 Minigames

cheonsacz

Hmm I don't have anyone around who's interested in the Switch anyway so I probably would be playing alone like I always do on my 3DS. Too bad the place where I live has such a tiny Nintendo fanbase. Until the price significantly drops, I'm not getting it. It should have been included as a bundle or should have been much cheaper. More mini games don't justify the price. There is lot of titles that have much more mini games and cost much less. To me it sounds like a cash grab, even if the title looks really good and sounds fun (when I was telling about it to my sister and her boyfriend who prefer PS4 games, they really liked the idea and thought it was fun - but if I told them how much Nintendo wants for it they would definitely say no).

@PorllM Everyone is entitled to their opinion + this is a comment section and sort of works like a discussion too. Yes I agree if you are not going to buy it anyway, you don't have to comment (on the article). The same with watching videos - you don't like it then don't watch. BUT in this case I have to agree with @alasdair91, the price is too much for what they offer.

Re: Fire Emblem Heroes Revealed for Mobile, Arrives on 2nd February

cheonsacz

I rather pay 4-5 bucks for a full game than play it free while being forced to use microtransactions to unlock better stuff and weapons as it usually is with those F2P games. I give it a try though. I just hope I will hear some news about the Nexon's Dynasty Warriors game instead, didn't checked for news in months.

Re: Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia Coming to 3DS on 19th May

cheonsacz

Retail release and I definitely consider buying the game even though I'm not a big FE fan. I just don't really like digital as it takes a lot of space on SD card while catridges take only tiny amount of space. Yes digital is good for traveling but I have a case for catridges and I'm mostly home so yeah xD

The amiibos look great. Would get one if I wasn't already saving on those cute Poochy and Yoshi's ones from Wooly's World

Re: Fire Emblem Warriors Arrives on Switch & New Nintendo 3DS This Fall

cheonsacz

This is a great news for me as I own N3DS XL. Nintendo did really surprise me with this, I'm glad they show they still care about their handheld machine. I just hope it's a retail release and not digital one. If they will localize it I'll pick it up for my 3DS. I wouldn't play the japanese version on Switch anyway. Region free is a good think for USA/PAL games, but I don't play games I can't understand at all (language wise not story wise).

@IronMan28: I hope you are wrong.

@mullen I don't think there will be a new handheld anytime soon (if ever), but I agree this is a clear proof Nintendo still cares about their handheld and sticks to their promise of not abandoning it and that Switch is not a replacement as people still think. Yes N3DS will be abandoned one day, it's inevitable. But so will be Switch and any future console/handheld. Technology development is fast and superior each year to the older gens. I bet in 4 or more years, Nintendo will announce a new hybrid or Switch 2 or New Switch or something XD like when Sony announced PS4 and then later made the Slim and Pro version.

Re: New PlayStation Releases Push Evergreen 3DS Titles Down Charts in Japan

cheonsacz

@Anti-Matter Well a lot of franchises get ported, enhanced and remade over and over the same way as KH (cough Zelda cough) yet people still buy the same games though it's understandable why one would easily get bored of it. I only played the DS version (365/2 days) and now I picked Drop Dream Distace and I like it so far. Too bad there won' be a new KH on 3DS :-/ (at least I didn't heard of any).

By the way, I'm glad N3DS XL still rocks the charts. Would be great if we got Danganronpa 3 (or any in the series) on Switch though

Re: First Impressions: Going Hand-to-Hand With ARMS

cheonsacz

I'm really sad that it requires extra joy-cons for 2 player gameplay that are pretty costly (around £70 right?) not even counting the price of the game itself. And I loved the preview of the game so I can only hope for a bundle (though I would prefer Mario bundle) or a huge sale off.

Re: Rumour: Fire Emblem Fates Could Be Getting A Nintendo Switch Port

cheonsacz

This is exactly what I was fearing. More ports than actual new titles and IPs. Not that porting games is a bad thing, but I probably rather save on new games for the Switch than ports of the games that I already own. If I had unlimited budget that would be a different thing, though. And what appealed to me about Switch was we will get a whole new experience on gaming. Getting ported games doesn't sound as exciting.

Re: Nintendo Switch Won't Have Miiverse Or StreetPass

cheonsacz

@JaxonH yeah that's why I asked before if you meant it as joke and in the other comment included the question mark. At first I laughed, but then it seemed you meant it seriously (hence why I asked) and some people commented they have OCD so I thought they felt offended and that's why it stopped being funny. You weren't very clear, though it does not really matter now

Re: Breaking Down the Nintendo Switch Online Service Details

cheonsacz

Not going to read every single comment, so if anyone already answered this I apologize for asking again. But what I'm most curious about is if we will be able to choose what SNES/NES game we will get to "borrow" for the month? And of course how much will it cost to keep them. I can just play NES/SNES games on my 3DS or through emulation on PC (which is free, but not very morale thing to do). I don't want to pay for a NES/SNES game when I will be already paying a subscription and as we know Nintendo, the game sure won't be as cheap as we would hope... I would pay for those NES/SNES games only if they would be emulated very well and way better than on previous Nintendo's consoles/handhelds, hopefully with updated graphics and sound. And with good pricing of course. Seems very unlikely though.

So this news is a disappointmet in a way for me, but I will definitely stay hooked for any updates and (hopefully better) news.

Re: Nintendo Switch Won't Have Miiverse Or StreetPass

cheonsacz

@XCWarrior He's just assistant manager of public relations though (and in NoA, not even NoJ). I don't want to belittle his position, but I wouldn't take him much seriously in whatever he thinks about Switch's main purpose. So far everything was indeed focused on the hardware rather than the games and handheld aspect, but I think we will get more news soon. It's been only a few days since the first official presentation, plenty of time to boost the handheld mode - unless Nintendo wants their next gen to be labeled as "another, less powerful console".

And as much as I love my 3DS and the handheld as a whole, I think Nintendo wants to move on from their previous ideas and don't want Switch to be connected with their previous devices like 3DS and Wii U, so I think there is very small chance of "4DS" ever happening. I think it will be another few years before we see a new console/handheld from Nintendo. I may be completely wrong though

Re: Gallery: Here's What The Nintendo Switch Looks Like From (Almost) Every Angle

cheonsacz

The top image - does that mean that's what we are getting for the "blue" and "red" (in this case more like orange) versions of the Switch? I think I rather stick with the common black. It's common boring color, but unless we get truly different color variations of the Switch (and I'm sure we will and most will be probably Japan-only) I'll stick with that. After all it's about the games, not the colors (though one of the reasons I didn't buy Wii U was the obvious lack of memory in the white version).

@Anti-Matter That would be perfect! I'm not a fan of neon lights and colors, but your idea sounds too good to resist haha

@PotatoTheGreat I saw the price being 60 bucks for one. If that's true then it's indeeed pricey and I'll probably buy the pro controller much later when I will feel it's 100% needed for better playing. Really bad news for those who already have a Wii U Pro controller though

@JaxonH Well first I don't have OCD, I have a cancer that's a "bit" different. Second I was joking with the "minds connected" because you had almost identical opinion as me in a previous article, that is what I was refering to. If you misunderstood me then sorry, that was not my intention. Third I don't know why are you bringing up OCD at all, since it has nothing to do with my comment or the article above and now it seems you didn't meant it as a joke as I thought, but as... insult towards me?

Not sad for streetpass at all, that is honestly useless all the time unless you live somewhere where 3DS users are highly populated and there is higher chance to meet them daily - sadly not my case even though I live in capital city. Also the games which should have been free were kind of overpriced, but I quite enjoy them despite the price.

Miitopia on the other hand is a fun feature I will miss. I'm happy they will add SNS support, but I hope they will add their own unique feature like are/were Miis
