@BigKing I couldn't get into MHTri - MH4U got me hooked though..learning the weapon tutorials thoroughly and playing with friends opened up for me as a superb game - but I agree - early play methods have to be overcome to fully appreciate the game..

@SmaggTheSmug Hi - yes, missing out the weapon tutorials is very unfortunate. Fortunately - the weapon tutorials are all in the main game and they are very comprehensive and you can re-play them at any time. Great Sword is not such a good choice for beginner - go for sword and shield or twin blades imho.
Btw - there is (only in japanese) a guide book - that weighs about 1.5kg and is very very thick for MHXX in japan - gives you some idea about how in depth the game is .........

I can see that "Special Editions" becoming High art - you pay for and buy and keep the Edition - it becomes a beautiful thing to own.
Despite this - they are expensive and time-consuming to produce, create huge Logistical distribution headaches. But in 30 years time - when a game is talked about on the Ultrahyperbraininet, the holy grail will be these "Special Editions that is shown - not an Icon from a menu....

Long live making games collectible and beautiful to own!

@Stocksy @premko1 Ok! Well, I've owned all major consoles - PS4 pro and XBone. I enjoyed Monster Hunter World but couldn't take it to play at my friend's house or the pub/cafe/wetherspoons etc. The last of us was ok - bit too cinematic/cutsceney tbh. Gears of war/Battlefield/COD - Lootbox hell no thanks. Voice chat with randoms? no thanks. .
Splatoon 2? Beautiful .balanced, fair , serviced game with gorgeous graphics and frame rate fabulous fairly priced high quality DLC. Mariokart 8 just soooo much fun! and everything included! Xenoblade 2 - amazing game - absolutely crafted beautifully!
Korg Synthesiszer - well lol - brilliant use of Controllers onSWITCH. . .hey! there are my answers!

Re: The US Trader Who Bet $400 Million Against Nintendo Takes Huge Hit As Stock Price Soars

Hedge funds gamble on the Stockmarkets using OTHER PEOPLE'S BORROWED money.
Essentially - you have £1000 saved in your Bank account at Lloyds.
You earn 0.5% per year on those Savings.
Your bank doesn't just let that money sit there - Your bank lends it to the Hedge Fund along with 1 million other customers - Your money can make huge gains overnight - Let's say 5%? Well, the bank and Hedge fund split that profit essentially. you get nothing. There is no or little risk to the bank because it is not their money. If the bank fails (like RBS did) - the Government bails them out with Taxpayers money - The Bank directors pay themselves huge bonuses form the Taxpayers bail out and give themselves a public pat on the back for saving the bank from the anonymous and 'Evil' 'Markets'.
When you pay into a pension - your pension money is used in the financial markets to earn huge sums of money of which you are promised a tiny tiny cut when you retire - and you die early ? well , the Bankers just make more money as they don't have to pay out on your pension. The Pot of money that they hold just gets larger and larger and they can do more with it - In this case - the $400million short reveal was enough to knock the Ninty share price down 2-3% (before it rallied last night) so in effect - larger sums in themselves cause the market to move in the desired direction.
It's Economics - Just remember - these people running these Hedge funds care absolutely nothing for normal people, your pension, your savings or your future. . .

Re: Soapbox: What Splatoon 2 Can Learn From Fortnite And Paladins, And Vice Versa

@FoxyGlen I think SPlatoon is far more compelling to play than FTNITE and PALADINS - (which have both been downloaded, tried and then promptly deleted form my switch) - yet 1 year on - I am still playing Splatoon daily.
Last week - I went in to a GAME store here in the UK and saw their 'BELONG' gaming area - which was basically full of 12 year olds playing Fortnite - meanwhile - at the Nintendo UKVS event this weekend - I saw players 20-40 playing Splatoon in very dedicated teams. Very very socaiblean nice scene indeed.
