Amiibos are still a thing?

Why do we care about Japanese sales charts again? Why don't we regularly get updates on the Korean sales charts, for example?

I suppose it's kind of funny if they were originally trying to poke fun at themselves for having said something so ridiculous in the past

I don't remember the particular Dark Samus battle this guy is referring to, but his comment did bring to mind a late game encounter in the cloud world that was truly awful. Wave after wave of enemies come at you and it's difficult to manage with the way Prime's combat is designed. It was very un-fun and un-Metroid

That's kind of sickening. Devolver is one of the great players in this industry, I'd hate to see any harm come to them just because some investors weren't going to make enough money from holding onto their stock

Turtles release date was a megaton announcement in my book. I really wasn't expecting anything of that magnitude from the showcase

Kind of sounds like some of the planned announcements are backing out of the showcase. The change in tone from previous info about the showcase and the "if everything holds" line makes it sound like the lineup for the showcase is in a bit of flux

I can't think of anything I'd rather be doing more in a Sonic game than spending two minutes fighting every grunt level enemy I encounter

That's pure fan-fiction on my part, but it definitely seems now like this is a more than just an indie love-letter and has become a premium release that's getting the deluxe treatment from all involved. I have high hopes!

Is this a remake of one of those sub-par Gamecube 3D platformers, or is it a brand new IP? For some reason, this character and name seem vaguely familiar to me.

Miyamoto is a genius and an eternal legend. But I've long suspected he may in part be responsible for a growing schism between "progress" and the Nintendo of old. This is the biggest official confirmation I've seen of that idea

Whoo! I enjoyed this game. It's very difficult (in both good ways and bad), and has that indie jank here and there, but it's also got a lot to offer, and a lot to enjoy. I'll be enjoying this free update eventually

This is a skip for me. Loved Splatoon 1. Splatoon 2 was neat, but seemed like a version 1.5 to me. And this? It's doing absolutely nothing to make me want to dive back in.

I've still got the Octo Expansion to work on, anyway which remains some of the most interesting Splatoon content I've seen since the original

Interesting review. I too am a supporter of the sixes and sevens of the world (and occasionally the 4's, when NL is feeling particularly grumpy). "Far from perfect" does not mean "far from good". Sometimes I even prefer the scrappy gameplay of a slightly unpolished gem, compared to those big budget blockbusters that have been polished to a smooth flawless sheen, so as to avoid any discomfort to the player whatsoever

I'm in the exact same boat. Haven't had any interest in Pokemon for decades, but bought Arceus and have been having a blast. Everything is new and fun to me, down to just learning what sort of "classes" are available and how they play against each other in battles. I'm not entirely sold on the next iteration quite yet, but Scarlet / Violet definitely has my attention! And that's saying something all on its own

@Damo by framing the article to highlight the guy's living circumstances, choosing a single screen grab as the lead picture to support that framing, and then only quoting from the defense the entire article, nevermind that said defense has already failed and he was still convicted. The entire article has a sympathetic tone

@Medic_Alert Same for me. Combat has always been the weakest part of the top-down Zelda formula. A game that mostly abandons puzzles, and instead leans heavily on combat and a poorly written narrative sounds like a complete drag
