@JohnnyMind Baby Pokémon don't get cards often as there's generally very little sense in playing a Basic Pokémon that evolves into another Basic Pokémon that you could just put into play directly. They're pretty much mechanically redundant. The babies we've been getting in the SV series are functionally non-evolving basics with no gameplay compatibility with their canonical evolved forms, which I suppose is one way of dodging that issue
1 >> 3 > Torna > FR > FC >>>>>>>>>>>> 2. I never got around to finishing X, although I hope to rectify that soon.
I'm maybe being a little harsh on 2, since it's a mostly fine game if you skip all the cutscenes, albeit still the worst of the three. But, on the other hand, the stories are a big part of why I like these games, and this game's story made me so angry at one point I had to get up and take a walk for like an hour to calm down. I genuinely will never understand people who give it any credit whatsoever, never mind put it on the same level as the others in the series. It is certainly nowhere near the worst game I have ever played, but it is, without a doubt, my absolute least favourite, which is probably directly related to Xenoblade 1 being my absolute favourite.
It never makes me happy to see an RPG series ditch turn-based battles; the idea that they're old-fashioned and need to be updated out of existence feels as wrongheaded to me as the late 90s/early 00s notion that 2D games were a thing of the past so obviously is now. I hope it's a trend we can move past.
You know, I thought I was pretty underwhelmed by this trailer, but there's nothing like popping my head into a good old-fashioned internet comments section to remind myself how truly, proudly miserable other people are about this franchise. Good lord. It looks fine
I think beyond any concerns about the series being too violent or sexy or whatever for Lego to adapt, the main issue is just that 007 just isn't that popular with kids anymore. The game wouldn't have sold very well!
I can't believe you people are laughing about this when this is is literally exactly what happens in 1984 (I think, I haven't read it, but I gather from YouTube there's some stuff in there about panty shots being taken out of videogames). When your civil liberties start getting stripped away by PEGI stormtroopers, don't say I didn't warn you.
(To give a real opinion, just in case somebody somehow thinks I'm actually agreeing with them: this is a perfectly reasonable thing to do, most instances of ""censorship"" are a bit silly at worst, and getting genuinely angry and boycotting over them is a deeply stupid thing to do. Get a real problem)
As far as I can tell, the timer for the free pack openings does not reset when you use hourglasses to skip it. There also does not appear to be a hard limit on the number of packs you can open using hourglasses in a day. If I'm right, then this means that by waiting 11 hours after a free pack opening, you will then be able to buy more packs for 1 hourglass each for the final hour until the timer ticks over. I really hope I'm right about the way this works because if I am then that's really funny
Listen. Microsoft. I don't like you and you don't like me. But if you put Viva Piñata on Switch I will buy it. I will buy all of them even though they're all the same damn game. I will pay any amount of money. I will make a complete consumerist fool of myself to acquire these games on Nintendo Switch. Do it. Do it and my money is finally yours again.
Well, I won't pay for Game Pass. But other than that.
@SmaggTheSmug The earlier ones are; Expert 2/The Eternal Duelist Soul follow the OCG rules much more closely, while the two subsequent games deliberately deviate from the official rules to adapt the Battle City rules from the anime more closely.
I'm pretty sure they're saying people within Nintendo weren't satisfied with the image, not that there was some big controversy about it out here among the rest of us.
This is just phase 1 of a long-term branding strategy that will change the face of football as we know it. The end goal? The official renaming of Liverpool FC to Merseyside Red
It's not what I was expecting from the successor to the Switch, but this kind of bold, radical innovation and reinvention is exactly what makes Nintendo such a vital and dynamic player in the console market.
You know, I've always thought other game franchises should have their own equivalent to the Rabbids. See you in 2035 when Astro Bot vs. Dogoos: Empire Wars is released as a PS7 launch title
"These dang game journalists are so ideologically motivated, unlike me: a person coming into the comments of an article requesting recommendations of hidden gems from the past six months to demand a review of a widely-publicised AAA game from almost two years ago. I'm so rational and unbiased it makes the rest of you look like sheep."
On a more relevant note, it might be nice to highlight Shashingo? It's very understandable to skip over it for a full review given it prioritises education over a conventional gameplay loop, but as an educational tool I've been finding it pleasant and helpful. It's basically a cheap Japanese textbook with a walking sim attached honestly
I suppose we'll have to wait and see what the in game economy truly ends up being like and what the power cards end up being, but with only two packs of five cards per day without paying, it seems like it's going to be extraordinarily difficult to build a coherent deck. Granted, with the back-to-Base-Set style of card design they've got going on, the standards for what constitutes a coherent deck will likely be a lot lower than they are in the game proper, but they won't stay that way forever...
For the unaware, the very earliest games in this series actually predate the OCG, and as such take the basic rules of the card game set out in the manga (which were themselves pretty loose until the irl game codified them) in a totally different direction. I sure hope the individual games are actually localised...
Well, if nothing else, it's nice that the ugliest film of next year won't be a superhero movie for the first time in a while. Good to get some artistic diversity in the field
As someone who doesn't even like visual novels, it's very funny seeing Emio enjoyers deliver practical essays on the game's quality, intelligently explaining the means of engagement with an unfamiliar artistic medium, and the haters responding with "no it's bad." Great argument, that'll convince em
the longer they go without making mario minifigures the longer I hope they never do. with the way people treat minifigures nowadays they just feel like funko pops to me now. the more sets without them the better
also it's funny seeing how mad people get about it
I'm pretty sure this will get automatically rejected, as it'd fall under the Lego Mario theme and projects based on ongoing themes aren't supposed to be included in review. It's on the list but it has a precisely 0% chance of making it to production
disappointed to learn that preferring crosscode's puzzles to its combat seems to be a minority opinion... if this game really is more combat-focused as the trailer and public opinion seem to indicate then it probably won't be for me, which is a shame as I loved the first game

Does this apply to Switch Lite too? I was just letting my cat chew on my Switch Lite earlier, and now I'm wondering if I should be concerned.
