Re: The Legend Of Dark Witch 3 Casts A Spell Over 3DS Next Week

Better looking games doesn't always mean better gameplay, the Switch has many garbage games that look better than 3ds games. Also since when did Nintendo fans give a toss about better looking games, Nintendo have been releasing hardware for ages now with less than adequate graphics, that excuse don't cut it. Many ppl have jumped from 3ds to switch and think it's something very special, it's just yet another piece of hardware to play games on but still lacking in many departments compared to other hardware. Yes i have a switch but it's no big deal, tbh i was hybrid gaming long before the switch released, it's not a new concept and Ninty certainly wasn't the first to bring hybrid gaming to the consumer.

Your probably right, most ppl will have a problem choosing which games to buy because of the large indie section to choose from. I don't have that problem, well not yet anyhow. Most of the games are on other devices alot cheaper, I would always go where a game i want is cheaper. I own several devices. The mobile games I can get for free and most of the steam games coming or already on switch i have already played or didn't want them. 99% of AAA western games won't make it to switch regardless if the switch gets a huge userbase. I will buy a game now and then for switch, hoping for a new Advance Wars (switch wars). I have only bought 2 games for switch, Skyrim and Doom, the only other game that I find interesting is BOTW zelda game but i bought the cheaper version on wii u, wolfenstein and Prime4 are the only other games on my radar at the moment, have to wait for new announcements to see if there is anythingelse

Variety is the spice of life, glad you like these games, just not for me. I bloody hate platformers, that's what most games were when i started gaming all those years back, had my fill not even modern ones interest me like oddessey, actually i don't buy anything with mario in it, for me he is a irritating boring character,nintendo's mascot not mine, but many do like him and his platformers. I won't even get started on rhythm games but each to their own mate

Yep, i was just poking fun at men in drag. This game is a technical mess but the whole sport of wrestling is a pantomime joke, actually it ain't even a sport.

I will still use vita even though I have a switch. There is a few reasons for this, 1 vita has a huge catalogue of Japanese games to catch up on. 2 it still gets Japanese games that won't make it to switch and vice-versa, this is also the case with indie. 3 I like to support vita island, I have made many friends on vita and we all still chat to this day on vita messaging, there's about 80 of us in a group.
Looking forward to this game, but will buy it on vita, plus part 3 is coming to vita and not switch, so yeah I still use both machines, but my 3ds is dead to me, it's been replaced by switch and vita doesn't have a Sony successor yet and probably never will but you never know, so i let them sit side by side in harmony along with my JXD hybrid device

I bought child of light the other week for £2.50 but yet to play it

Persona & tales are great games, i have yet to buy Ys Vlll but I will when it's cheaper, I would like to see Toukiden on switch but a new instalment, I will probably buy the new Virtual On game coming to vita, I bought a vita for Japanese games and it hasn't let me down. I didn't care that Sony stopped making games for it, i didn't buy it for their games just like i didn't buy a switch for Nintendo developed games. I just look at my switch as a independent machine and all developers are 3rd party for it. I know many wouldn't agree but for me personally most of the games Nintendo make are garbage but they do make a good prime & advance wars, like i said earlier i bought it for Skyrim and anything more is a bonus

Re: Review: Plague Road (Switch eShop)

@Agramonte
I am only playing 2 Vita games at the moment 1st Adventures of Mana and the most excellent Salt&Sanctuary. S&S reminds me of Dark Souls or Skyrim but in 2D, i don't buy many indie games but i have to say S&S is better than many AAA games, i would like to see it come to switch but with extra dlc, the game deserves a wider audience. For the foreseeable future i only want wolfenstein & Prime4 for switch, I am sure there will be more later in 2018. For the Vita i want secret of Mana, Romancing saga 2&3, Pixel Noire and others that will be announced no doubt

Hey on a different subject, like me i know you don't care much for latest resolution, graphics, fps and the rest. I was just wondering if you have thought anymore about buying a GPD or JXD system, it seems to be right up your street, you like games and it isn't always about the latest ones, unless you get latest android ones. Thought you might have bought one by now after showing a little interest. The biggest bonus I can suggest is you will save loads of money once you own one

Re: Review: Plague Road (Switch eShop)

@electrolite77
I ain't complaining about ports, actually I only have 2 games for switch and there both ports, Skyrim and Doom. Yes doom is a great technical achievement for switch and i am glad to own it but gameplay wise it's inferior to KZ on vita and that's what games are about, it just so happened to be a exclusive but it wouldn't have bothered me if it was a port. I thought your first comment was just pointless and not needed especially when we both know what Agramonte was getting at. He wasn't assassinating the switch, he was just saying he would rather play a superior version of games rather than inferior ones, that's a fair comment, but superior hardware doesn't always mean all games for it would be better than a less capable machine, heck zelda just won goty on a less powerful machine, says it all really. Seems from reading your salty eyes comment you don't like the idea of a game on a lesser hardware been superior to a game that was a technical Marvel on a more powerful machine. Doom fails against KZ because it's gameplay especially multiplayer, it's one of the worst multiplayer shooters in the last few years, though campaign mode is cool if very repetitive, hoping this is all sorted out with wolfenstein. But yeah a second rate game by second rate devs using the ps3 KZ engine to create it still happens to be the best FPS on a handheld speaks volumes after all these years, Doom don't even come close even with its fancy graphics, it's distinct lack of gameplay depth let it down, basically it's a shallow grave and that's coming from someone who loves the original doom games, this was a disappointment for me on so many levels, shame because I tried so hard to justify my purchase and it just scrapes by thankfully. KZ won't keep the crown and tbh i can't wait to see and play the game that takes the crown from it, it will have to get everything right because KZ handheld sure as hell did

Re: Review: Plague Road (Switch eShop)

WhistleFish

@electrolite77
Let's face it, Agramonte was talking about ports not spinoff, but even spinoffs can be better than the main games, yes AC liberation and uncharted are not as good as the main series, though they were good enough for vita as new entries but KZ mercenaries was far better than KZ shadowfall, so not always crappier versions as you put it. You know as well as me he was talking the likes of crappier ports for switch like fifa, Doom and just about anything been ported down from ps4, i guess he is saying the switch ain't man enough and i would have to agree, yes i own a switch but it's a bit of a girls blouse compared to other hardware. I understand Agramonte wants games for switch built from the ground up, who doesn't, he was only using the vita games he mentioned as a example of this, basically new versions and not crapy ports of games he can get the superior copy elsewhere cheaper. I get it, it's a shame you didn't but I reckon you did

Re: Review: Plague Road (Switch eShop)

WhistleFish

@Agramonte
Yep games usually built from the ground up are mostly better than ports, don't forget Gravity Rush, it's an amazing game.

What is your name on mercenaries

I like my switch but don't like many games developed by nintendo, i won't buy anything with mario, Kirby, Yoshi etc in it. Bought it for Skyrim in handheld mode, my switch will never be docked, the wife owns the TV lol, my next game for switch will be wolfenstein and for vita secret of Mana. If a indie game gets a release for both machines then i buy the vita version always, far superior battery life

Re: Review: Plague Road (Switch eShop)

WhistleFish

@Agramonte
Hmm but most of your vita games are less than 450p at 15 fps, though some do exceed that. Tbh mate i have killzone mercenary on vita and Doom on switch and i must say killzone is still the number 1 first person shooter on a handheld, Doom has a garbage multiplayer and a very repetitive campaign mode, KZ beats it in everyway, i say this because Doom has a higher resolution but that don't make a game better or worse if it has a lower one like KZ

Re: Review: Slain: Back From Hell (Switch eShop)

@CptProtonX
Exactly, many games back in the day deployed these tactics, I grew up with gameplay like that, this game is more than playable and I appreciated the challenge, just when you thought it couldn't be done you reach a checkpoint save, actually many games years ago didn't even give a few save points per level. I love the fact they released this with all its quirks, ah the memories, i didn't have a problem with this game but got to say Salt&Sanctuary is far superior and many say it's difficult with cheap deaths, love these type of games, if it's easy ppl want they should play Kirby or smurfs or something. Ah almost forgot, the controls are fine when using a D-pad rather than analogue, the game is all about memorising and timing, the D-pad is perfect for the latter,

Re: Review: Slain: Back From Hell (Switch eShop)

WhistleFish

I have this on vita, yes it's difficult but that's how many games used to be. The check points are well placed, it's more than doable. Old school players should snap this up. Giving the game a low score because the reviewer finds it difficult is pathetic, more games should be like this, the review is a joke

Re: Review: Snow Moto Racing Freedom (Switch)

@AirElephant
Suck it up boy lol, get used to it because steam/mobile is the future for most 3rd party games on switch, it's going to be indie heaven or hell with a gem of a game now and then or a pile of dog muck. AAA games will be few and far between but some gems will be released, even some if not many Ninty developed games are garbage. I understand why indie devs want their games on switch, be them good or bad, make some quick money before switch is saturated with games and most releases just dissappear amongst the other mediocre games released on it.

Yep it's a bit different where i work
9 ppl have ps4, 4 ppl with xone, 2 Vita and 1 switch, though one of the guys will have to buy a switch, his partner wants one. When he gets one for her he will play it and then try persuade others to buy. In fairness to some of these guys they had wii u and got burnt, so now they lost faith which is understandable, i own a switch but it ain't anything special for me, i was hybrid gaming with my JXD long before i had switch, actually switch wasn't even released, so that side of it didn't have the wow factor for me but i can see why it would for the many others with their first introduction to hybrid gaming

Re: Nintendo Switch Hardware Sales Reach Another Level in Japan

@NEStalgia
Can't say i have seen any switch units out in the wild
I am the only one at work with a switch but we all have a ps4, we talk about games and hardware all the time, and we even talked xbox owners into buying ps4, i would say power of speech is more powerful than seeing someone with a piece of hardware in a distant seat on a train or bus etc
None of the guys at work will ever buy switch,, they call it a NVIDA toy, as for me i am more open minded, hence why i own multiple hardware, i guess i play on my JXD more than any other because of 30 years plus of gaming history it offers me, though i do play Skyrim on switch at weekends, no time for such a game during week thx to working my ass off

Re: Nintendo Switch Hardware Sales Reach Another Level in Japan

@retro_player_22
Take a look at the charts. No switch 3rd party games, all developed by nintendo, what's more is 3rd party know their games won't be big sellers on switch in Japan let alone in the West. Yep some or many are watching the switch but it's mainly indie, Western AAA devs don't seem interested, yes Bethesda gave us some great games and wolfenstein on the way but if numbers are abysmal then Bethesda won't release anymore games. Expect many 3rd party mediocre Japanese games though with the odd gem

Re: Soapbox: It Took Nintendo To Turn Me Into A Smartphone Gamer

Doomgles, Shadow Warrior and Dead Effect 1&2 and Emulators are the best for mobile devices. I use a JXD which has integrated buttons, D-pad, no touch screen for me. Nintendo's offerings are all garbage, mediocre at best, can't see smart device owners wanting to buy a switch after trying the poor output Nintendo are offering
