Re: Super Mario Odyssey Is The Best Rated Game Of All Time

@MsgBoardGamer
Latest and greatest games, hmm so that makes it a home console, nah. Switch had a compromised version of the latest and greatest version of fifa, why, because it couldn't handle the home console version so it got a handheld version. Doom won't be the home console ports, Bethesda already stated that it will be a dumbdowned version. Switch is no different from other devices that have TV out, they all do the same thing regardless if Ninty have released their latest games on it, that doesn't stop it from been a handheld, twist and pop it all you want with spin, not only is it a handheld console but more like a tablet inside and out, just because it has TV out don't make it a home console first

@TheLZdragon
Why is that so unique to switch, Ninty were late to the party with hybrid gaming, a few companies already had hybrids, the morpheos 300 springs to mind, it also was a tablet with detachable controllers that connects to TV just like switch or on the go. It came out in 2013, there are other devices aswell that came first. So no the switch isn't unique, but still it's a great device

Like I said at beginning of my comment, depends what you want from it, if it's retro then it's a killer. Yep half of switch games are android games. It can't have BOTW obviously but neither can ps4, what does that matter, many ppl on here would love a VC like 6th gen below plus some of the highend android games, not the casual stuff

Re: Anniversary: It's One Year Since Nintendo Showed Us The Switch

WhistleFish

@NabbitFan730
Depends what you want, the VC is something the switch could only dream about, it wipes the floor with switch in that department, loads of apps, many useful, loads of Android games and let's face it half if not more switch games are mobile ports. It's not competing against switch, afterall it was out before switch, it has many advantages over switch and vice-versa but to say the singularity jxd don't have anything on switch is just ignorance and fanboys. I will break it down for you, it uses latest gorilla glass for screen, much superior to what switch users, it has 4k capabilities, but only any good if apps are using 4k, but that said it doesn't have a problem with 1080 hd on tv or on the go, better than switch, it's clock speed is 1.8ghz, switch is locked at less than 1ghz and much less on the go, it's capable of runningany game that's on switch, the previous edition used the same tegra chip as switch, now this is the improved version also with 64 gig of internal memory. Yep plays DS and Gamecube, GBA, N64, Snes, Nes, Gb, Dreamcast, Neogeo, psone, Mame, msdos, plus many other emulators, a massive retro game library that switch owners could never have, also every app and game on playstore, not bad for a hybrid that you say has nothing on switch, yep switch has advantages over this but you can't deny this isn't a beast, it has other improvements over switch like 60fps constant on the go, only if apps and games are running at that speed, it don't sweat it

Re: Anniversary: It's One Year Since Nintendo Showed Us The Switch

@electrolite77
Just been reading more about the singularity, it's a updated version from the year before, it no longer uses the tegra1 chip, it users the Rockchip, it's no different from the tegra, funny thing is nvida stopped selling it to them cause Nintendo stepped in, JXD felt burned by Ninty so they made the singularity with more under its bonnet than switch, looking at the specs, it sure is a beast, won't be as popular as switch, never mind that price tag. All in all i am more than happy with companies like JXD and GPD to sit along side Ninty trying to help the hybrid market grow quicker, i am sure more will jump on board, like i said China is coming and Japan is already here

Re: Anniversary: It's One Year Since Nintendo Showed Us The Switch

Proprioty cards hmm that's why i bought a jxd s7800b, you see i have 2 psvita, 1 normal and the other Henkaku hacked but fed up of expensive memory cards so I bought s78 for £55 on amazon. It runs Nes, master system, snes, megadrive, neogeo, Mame , all run perfectly. Things change somewhat with saturn and N64, many saturn games ain't available for the Saturn emulator and the ones that are available are hit and miss, all due to a unfinished emulator that doesn't get anymore updates for it. N64 runs fine if you tinker with the settings in the emulator, basically turn everything down to default. Psp is mostly OK just keep it on default but the odd game can be choppy, dreamcast and DS are surprisingly good, better than psp imo, the odd game has frame issues but keep settings to a minimum. If you want a great emulation machine then this is perfect or the improved GPD XD with its better cpu for running the latest android games like modern combat 5, the s78 can run them but not as efficient, also the improved version has less issues with some of the emulation games, I will probably buy it when it's cheaper. The singularity does offer a bit more in emulation, it plays Gamecube games and has access to nvida store. Yep it was a disgrace how Sony treated the vita and the ppl that bought it, speaking of vita, Sony have announced a new game for it, a Jrpg. More details are due 26 of this month, this Thursday, I am very intrigued, will this mean Sony are going to give vita a second push, maybe more games announced, looking forward to Thursday, won't loose sleep over it though, probably a game for Japan only with relative small success for vita their and in Asia, can't see it coming West though @electrolite77

Re: Anniversary: It's One Year Since Nintendo Showed Us The Switch

WhistleFish

@electrolite77
The Singularity doesn't need to up its clock,it's already a beast when on the go or docked but certainly for their other machines, i already have the JXD S7800B, great machine for emulation and the better android games. I never play it on tv, wife hogs it, got to say it's better now with the FW update 4.4 though android is now on 5.0. I suspect when they bring another it will be fully updated with a better cpu or maybe stick with the tegra 1 that runs the Singularity but with added whistle and bells, yep they just might take the dock system to keep everything tidy, not that's it's a mess. With the likes of JXD and Ninty switch, this is the future only some companies haven't realised yet like Sony and MS. Strange really psp had TV out but never implemented and vita didn't have it. Sony may release another and if they did it would be a hybrid that they will stop supporting in no time cause the next home console has arrived, only home consoles as we know them will loose popularity as hybrid grows. One thing with the switch, imo i think it needs all kinds of apps just like android/ios, Ninty could quite easily be the market leader given time especially with their own IPs on board, just need to be even more mainstream. Ninty certainly made hybrid mainstream that can only help companies like JXD. Didn't realise you could do that CRTL thing, nice

@electrolite77
I was referring to this post aswell as many others i have read on other articles, should have said that, my bad. As for Ninty doing it right, hmm so did JXD before Ninty, nothing wrong with the way they implemented it, actually they showed it doesn't need a plastic dock, which in return drives up the price. JXD will only get bigger and better, one to watch out for in the future, China is coming which isn't exactly a surprise, good luck to them. The switch is cool, just saying Ninty wasn't there first with hybrids for those that didn't know. Edit lol can't believe you checked all comments on this article, way to go, should be playing games instead mate

Re: Anniversary: It's One Year Since Nintendo Showed Us The Switch

WhistleFish

@MsgBoardGamer
Every mobile game that made it to switch, which there are many, who actually cares what games it does or doesn't have, fact is these are hybrids that were out before switch, let's face it, the Switch ain't getting many current games, most are old ports of PS360 games, Android games, Wii u games, neogeo, some ps4xone old ports, take all that away and switch is left with next to nothing. The JXD singularity has over 30 years of gaming history to fall back on, also every android game, plus access to the nvida store for latest console games that were exclusive to the shield, also every app available that switch could only dream about. All in 1080 docked or undocked using the latest gorilla glass screen, ah yes also the tegra 1 chip, the machine offers far more than switch, even Sony, Nintendo, Sega, square, EA, UBISOFT plus many others make games for it, they even release some recent older games for it. Regardless with your burnt comment, JXD were releasing hybrids way before Ninty and its just a matter of time before they have one out that matches upto ps4 parity, they ain't to far off already with the singularity

Happy for you, when i have tried, everytime i failed, stopped trying now, yeah i can get some on eBay but prices are higher than normal. Your in the minority, find it hard to believe that every single game you bought from LRG at release you was always there for them, always sold out in minutes, unless you sit there at the right time when they release them, which many of us don't have time for that, we have other things going on. Like i said it's easy to buy them later on when they pop up on eBay but i won't buy them at extra cost. Their all like £60 upwards for a simple indie game when i can buy most of them in sales digitally for next to nothing

Re: Anniversary: It's One Year Since Nintendo Showed Us The Switch

WhistleFish

Man, it makes me lmao reading comments on here, most of you act like Nintendo had the first hybrid ever, that it's their innovation. Well just look to the JXD S7800B, out before switch, it's a handheld/console hybrid. Does everything the switch does and more, cost £120. Edit, doesn't have hd rumble joycons, no loss there then, also GPD XD is hybrid and GPD singularity which is 1080 on tv or on the go 60fps, also runs unreal engine 4 amongst others with tegra k1, yep all hybrids before ninty's none innovation that many seem to claim otherwise, hmm

Re: Limited Run Games Will Publish Physical Copies of Indie Titles On Switch Next Year

WhistleFish

Forget it if your in EU, NA snap them up quick time then put them on eBay for stupid prices. Also when they say limited they ain't joking, lucky if they release more than 5k per game, some even less. Can't see why they can't just supply on demand instead of limiting stock, mainly to the states. Also they are helping scalpers, bad practice imo. 99% of users on here won't get the games cause they sold out in minutes, that's LRG for ya

@JaxonH
Ah switch was always going to get off to a good start, thx to its portable side of things, Japan was always going to lap it up. Also Nintendo handhelds always fair better than their crummy home console of late, it's over for Ninty as a dedicated home console manufacturer, if they released another it would flop, best they stick with portability where they will always have sucess

Nice, fair play, say it as it is, also very true. Maybe the Japanese market has changed, what with mobile gaming on the rise. I love Japanese games but nowadays they are pretty much low level budget games that don't need to sell many to turn a profit for some of these crap devs. they all seem to be knocking out many crap games, all the Japanese devs are guilty of this including Nintendo, Amiibo festival springs to mind

Hey, have to agree with many of your points. I own multiple hardware, even retro. I have 3ds, Wii u, vita, and a recently acquired ps4 that i got very cheap of a mate because he upgraded to a pro. I don't own a switch and may never buy one, there isn't 1 game on it that i want to play, nothing to my taste, that could change in 2018 and beyond when more Japanese games make it West. Still i probably wouldn't buy them on switch, most of them i can already play on vita, ps4, tbh ps4 gets more new Japanese games announced every week and just a trickle for switch. I don't care one bit for on the go gameplay, i only play at home but never on the TV, the wife hogs it, Anyways that's why the 3ds, vita and Wii u was good for me and the vita now has a new lease of life for me thx to remoteplay, i might even start playing western games again. I wrote this to say i agree with the fanboy comment, I couldn't own just 1 piece of hardware and miss out on many great games. The switch sounds perfect for me but i hate all platformers and any game with mario in it, can't bare to even look at a terrible character like that, same for Kirby and Yoshi. Don't get me wrong, Nintendo make some great games like Advance Wars, Prime, Xeno but for me i prefer 3rd party games more so than cute bland looking Nintendo 1st party games, i will have to wait and see how it unfolds for switch before i jump on board, hopefully a new sin and punishment, the last story and a true fire emblem game, I don't need to worry about Japanese niche games, they will come big time eventually

Or dress the numbers up for what is basically poor sales from data already released, that could change though with other country's, highly doubt it though, sports ain't exactly the biggest seller on Ninty hardware, but ignorance and arrogance are bliss for some ppl especially those that sidewinder through the back door. Seems to me that anybody that thinks 12 thousand sales for fifa is good certainly can't process numbers let alone the lesser sales in the UK, what part of those sales are good, hmm none. I wanted it to sell loads but i ain't dissolusioned with comparable data that isn't relevant anymore, afterall this is a new fifa game for a new console, all that went before it is irrelevant and not with the times, like now, if it has to be compared to other versions then it should be compared to fifa 18 on ps4 xboxo, afterall it carries the same name, and you keep saying Switch is a home console,

Re: Big Ant Studios Would Love To Bring Ashes Cricket To Switch

WhistleFish

@kobashi100
Why live in the past with Fifa data, it's about fifa 18 what sligy is talking about, past numbers are irrelevant, especially when considering switch which wasn't even available, and yes sligy is right, those sales numbers are a tragedy for fifa 18 on switch, that's not to say it's a bad game though, apparently it's a good game

Re: Nintendo Switch Surges in Japanese Charts as Fire Emblem Warriors Makes Debut

WhistleFish

@SanderEvers
If you have a switch and like footy, then it shouldn't matter if it's on frostbite, you should have bought it already. Don't matter if modes are missing and all that no friends online shenanigans, it's fifa, it's the beautiful game of football and apparently it's a great game. If i owned a switch i would buy it, speak to electrolite77 he will give you all the info you need to know whilst you sit on the fence. Yep sales are bad but that doesn't mean it's a bad game, now go buy it already and enjoy the beautiful game of football

Re: Nintendo Switch Surges in Japanese Charts as Fire Emblem Warriors Makes Debut

WhistleFish

@kobashi100
Regardless if it's popular in Japan, they are still crap numbers. Nintendo ain't that popular in UK compared to Sony but they were still crap numbers for fifa, can't use that as a excuse for poor sales and yes I follow sales data. Excuses excuses just cause a game is flopping, it's the old chestnut again, sales figures don't lie regardless if said game is popular or not, don't matter if EA are making headway, sales are still bad, simple as that really

Re: Nintendo Switch Surges in Japanese Charts as Fire Emblem Warriors Makes Debut

WhistleFish

Hmm, many saying fifa sales in Japan ain't bad, Oh yes they are, switch install Base at 2 million ish with only 12 thousand sold = tragedy. You know what the other day many ppl on NL completely dissed the UK market because fifa sold just over 8 thousand, yet it only has a install Base of 300 thousand ish, well as far as i can see it faired alot better in UK than Japan. Ppl try to justify fifa sales in Japan against ps4 sales, well they both did crap. Have to say though the game is gonna flop worldwide on switch with sales, even if it's a decent footy game on the go. FANTASTIC numbers for switch though, it can only get better with mario and the holidays approaching

It's far from a home console, it's handheld with TV out, for me anyways and others that say the same thing on here, but if it is a home console to others, then good for them, don't you just love different opinions or maybe i should just have yours, nah. Anyways just for the record, i think switch is a great machine, I am the only one at work that defends it to a certain degree, the guys always ridicule it for its weak approach as a home console, i just tell them it's a powerful handheld first with option to play it on tv, simple as that really, tbh i don't actually give a toss what it is, software is the crucial part and that means Japanese and sports games for me. Switch has neither for me yet, maybe down the line. Fifa i can play full game on my ps4 and no way i would buy nba2k on switch, it's was a tragedy, but hopefully they will sort that out with next instalment. Games like Doom and wolfenstein should be great for those that like western games regardless if they are cut down versions, hope ppl buy them

What's so bad about noticing ppl change their minds on this site, just pointing it out how ridiculous it all sounds. Hmm butt hurt over vita, it was dead sales wise ages ago, yet still it gets games, very strange for a dead machine. Yep i like certain games on vita but also on wii u and 3ds i own, you see i have no preferences with hardware only software, vita and 3ds has the Japanese games i like but wii u had nothing, was hoping for a prime game for it but also a proper FE, sin & Punishment, even last story game but nothing but bloody platformers that I dislike. Switch so far has nothing i would want, only xeno in the foreseeable future, hopefully all that will change further down the line, but not for now, for me anyways., for me i haven't made my mind up, if i do buy one then i will look upon it as a handheld and its limitations won't bother me, it certainly would if it was a home console that can't handle latest games
