A lot of those items contain toxic chemicals (specially screens). So hitting them with great force is a really dumb thing to do.
In fact, there are only two things even dumber: 1) charging money from someone to let him do it and 2) paying someone to let me do it.
Ought suppliers from non-conflict-afflicted countries be shunned because their countries lack fundable militias? Should workers in their quarries lose their jobs merely because there are no blatant human rights abuses in their respective countries? Sorry - but if that's an "important catch" it's one I can live with.
Waitasecondhere.... potions can be USED? What heresy is this? Nononono - Potions have only one purpose: To be stockpiled until that moment - after finally defeating the ultimate boss - when I can finally fulfill my dream of opening a quaint little potion shop on main street! That'd hardly work if I went around DRINKING them, though. So there. ...Of course, once the enemy menace is defeated, few are likely to get wounded, and therefore few will purchase my potions, so... Drats.
@Dm9982 The console-to-PC-owner numbers aren't relevant. Many console owners have PCs as well. And not every PC is capable of running games like Cyberpunk 2077. More relevant is what I heard in one report (provided it's true), namely that 41% of Cyberpunk preorders were for consoles.
@Dm9982 Maybe neither choice would have resulted in a good outcome, but that doesn't mean that both outcomes would have been equally bad. BotW showed that people can forgive repeated delays if the result is worthwhile. And intentionally misleading customers about an unfinished product is easily the worst choice a publisher can possibly make.
Besides, there would have been compromises between those two choices (publish PC version now and delay the consoles versions for example - that might have enraged some console fans but nowhere near as much as they are now).
@graysoncharles Neither. I suggest reading the reviews and judging for yourself whether their arguments/complaints convince you or not. Ignore the numeric scores.
@Octane PIkmin 3 was released 7 years ago. Plenty of time for WiiU owners to buy it. Those who haven't gotten around to ordering it by now probably weren't all that interested in the game to begin with.
Companies have been trying to steer customers away from physical copies toward downloads (since they can't be resold). It seems EA has found a new approach by turning the box into something you really wouldn't want to own.
It actually gave me a mischievous thought about what it would look like if they made a Metroid game in a Paper Mario art style. That train of thought then went off the rails and I ended up with a metroid type game in the style of a Gerry Anderson show where you could see the wires and the handcrafted props (not dissimilar to Yoshi's Crafted World but more subtle). Now I kinda wish someone made something like that...
Anyone who writes a review without actually having played the game ("The game is probably...") misses the point of reviews, which is supposed to be feedback from customers who have already bought and experienced it. What they offer are opinions on why they haven't played it - which belong in forums, not review sites.
Interesting how on the European cover they even tried to create a more realistic version of the Japanese cover's lair. Then again, even the NA version attempted a somewhat... loose approximation.
Actually, I thought the ability to recycle trash fished from the rivers into nice items like succulent plant pots to be a nice lesson rather than a toxic one. But who am I to disagree...
When you offer to donate something to Blathers even though you have nothing he will remind you that the museum is "currently accepting" fishes, bugs and fossils. Might hint at something.
It might be possible they're hiding things and features in DLC and updates to prevent time travelers from spoiling them to others (Now there's a sentence I never thought I'd get to write).
@Crono1973 "I got them to talk about it" is the excuse that's always muttered when one fails to actually achieve anything. If you set your bar low enough then everything can be counted as a success.
@Crono1973 Yes, the thread is being pushed on and on and on... And it changes NOTHING about the game itself(just as it didn't in Pokemon, Astral Chains, Fire Emblem etc...). Ergo, review bombing is useless as a tool for effecting changes in games. You are merely proving my point.
@Jiorl Well, they review bombed Pokemon Sword/Shield due to the limited pokedex. As a result the game continued to sell because most didn't care and Nintendo did not fix the pokedex. So... no.
@Crono1973 That's an excuse. People also talk about games without 0/10 reviews. And people who visit Metacritic do not automatically go to Nintendolife afterwards to read their articles about the reviewbombing and the forum discussion afterwards. So no - to most the 0/10 reviews are just worthless.
I would just like to point out how ridiculous it is to protest a company's alleged anti-consumer attitude by review bombing. Because rendering a consumer review site virtually pointless by swamping it with aggressively skewed reviews is about as anti-consumer as it gets. No matter how valid their criticisms may be, attaching them to 0/10 reviews renders them moot, because no serious consumer bothers to read those (since the score is blatantly absurd). So all they do is essentially rob customers of another way to get proper information or make it all the harder for them to find the useful and informative reviews and criticisms.
@nessisonett Apparently there has already been a warning not to make Disney related projects (Inlcuding Star Wars). So it's not just Nintendo. And companies that rely heavily on their IPs are more protective of them.
How can I "trust" a review that complains about one product's price on order to promote a rival one that doesn't even have a confirmed price yet? That is pretty much the exact opposite of trustworthy to me.
I yearn for those innocent years when jokes were still a laughing matter and I could have firmly believed this to be nothing but a silly joke. But the recent years have shown that there are far too many people willing to take a joke too far.
@BlueOcean Considering this is the only article about an autograph this month (and indeed for quite a long time) one can hardly accuse NL of making "articles for every autograph they see".
It's amazing how people manage to get bitter over nothing.
And once again EA neatly demonstrates why they're one of the most beloved and cherished publishers in the business...
("We've made exactly zero effort to appeal to the Switch owners, and the fact they don't appreciate our efforts proves we were right not to do make any in the first place")
@Bluerangervegeta The Yu-Gi-Oh games (specially the PS1/PS2 ones) didn't have unique arrival/death/battle/ect animations for over 1000 monsters (I played pretty much all of them). That is simply not true.
And why should I care for the opinion or respect the refined sense of taste of someone who thinks "Pokemon Don't Go" is a witty remark? He even sets up the joke with a quasi-explanation to make sure we truly get it...
There might be an additional factor: Some of those clips to be shown might contain cataclysmic scenes (for example the destruction of Torna from the Xenoblades Chronicles expansion, or collapsing houses in Daemon X Machina, or an earthquake spell from a hypothetical Golden Sun remake etc) which might be considered tactless right now. (And those too upset should remember: It is the annoncements that were delayed, not the games themselves.)
@Arehexes The point he was trying to make is that by posting angry replies below their articles you're doing exactly what the clickbaiters want you to do. Because that's what 'clickbaiting' means: baiting someone into clicking on their articles and forums - even if it is merely to discharge venomous comments.
Of course, for honesty's sake one must remember that several God of War-fans will download the game digitally, which will not be the case with Labo.
Personally, I definitely prefer Labo (not least of all because I too think that Kratos is only bearable as long as he's a caricature; he's too vile and arrogant for a responsible or mature character and frankly beyond redemption).
How do we actually know Robin Williams won't be honored in some way? It's not as though anyone has actually played the next major Zelda title and searched for all possible easter eggs...
