Re: Feature: Memorable Games of 2017 - ARMS

WarlockNem

Arms is a great fighter! It has that same charm that games like Street Fighter, Punch-Out, and Powerstone have. Feels very Arcade like and fun much like a lot of those Neo-Geo fighters from back in the day as well.

Re: Bethesda Says DOOM And Wolfenstein 2 Are "The Start" Of A Nintendo Relationship

@HawkeyeWii The ironically funny thing about this statement is that you don’t want to buy the Switch versions because you are aware that they will under preform graphically compared to the PS4 version. That you don’t want to buy an inferior version of a game knowing there is a better one out there. Well the PS4 versions of these games under preform comparatively to the PC versions so with that mentality wouldn’t that also keep you from buying them on PS4 as well??

Re: Square Enix's Hajime Tabata Hints That Final Fantasy XV Could Be Coming To Switch

@NEStalgia Your S.E. facts are a little off and a bit bizarre. F.F and D.Q. at the time of FF7 and DQ7 were created by two very different and very competitive companies which means DQ was never Square Soft's big RPG series, it was Enix. As far as Square never knowing what to do with FF that is a little far fetched as well. The FF series had legs in the west way before FF7 with FF, FF4, and FF6 known as 1-3 here and was pretty popular amount the Nintendo crowd. That being said Square with FF1-9 knew exactly what they were doing with each title. Gameplay remaining vastly the same with only minor tweaks here and there. FF started to lose it's legs right after 10 during the Square Soft and Enix merger and letting Sakaguchi (FF creator) go. With 10 and after they started trying new things with the series which both helped and hurt it at the same time. Now that the facts are out of the way here is my opinion on the later games of the series starting with 10 which along with 13 were both a low point in the series while 12 and 15 were pretty entertaining as FF titles. Oh wait here are a few more facts btw pertaining to Enix and DQ not getting the right amount of attention in the west... on the NES alone they localized 4 titles that did moderately while Square had one 1 sent over. The reason Enix fell off with localizing the next few games was that their western division wasn't giving proper funding to do so while Square took the chance and cut a few corners to poorly localize 2 of their SNES titles over. The funny thing about the merger was that Square was losing money and Enix bought them out creating Square Enix in its wake with mostly Enix employees left to pick up the pieces while most of Square's Employees ran for the hills. Still the odd thing about it is that as S.E. the company decided to put most of the Square Soft titles at the forefront giving them all of the attention and killing off most of their own home brewed titles in the process. When stream lining the facts you mushed them up in such a very odd way that it changed the actual history of what really happened causing you to give misinformation to those not in the know.

@GreenToad You don't even have to delete the English speaking client that you downloaded with your main account. You can access the eshop from your Japanese account and also download the japanese specific client as well. Having both of them on your menu ready to play! I think you can also switch between accounts through both clients too.

Re: Nintendo Download: 16th March (North America)

WarlockNem

@flapjackashley2 The physical release will actually have an instruction manual?! Or is it just the usual 3 page pamphlet with all the legal and safety stuff printed several times in different languages and barely anything about the game itself other than the occasional illustrated controller with the controls of the game printed around it?

Re: Eiji Aonuma Wants an 'Evolved 2D Style' From His Legend of Zelda Handheld Dev Team

@Pikachupwnage Zelda II wasn't particularly all that hard...I completed it 100% at the age of 8 when it came out before the Internet was even a thing and didn't even have a Nintendo Power subscription at the time to fall back on. I will never understand how it gained the reputation for being so hard. I'd say for that time period it was even a platformer on easy mode with rpg elements splashed in.

Re: Check Out Barnacle Sports Club, One Of Splatoon 2's New Stages

WarlockNem

@Rumncoke25 I hope there is a single player story mode to this. The first one had one (a pretty awesome one I might add!) and hardly anyone knew because it was tucked away in the game in a corner of the hub world map (Inkopolis) and Nintendo didn't do much if anything to inform people of it and sold it as a multiplayer game.

Re: Soapbox: You're Going To Love ARMS, And Here's Why

WarlockNem

I do have a question though? Will people using the pro-controller have an advantage over the people using the Joy-Cons? Considering you have to tilt both Joy-Cons pretty precisely in the same direction to move in said direction. Will moving with the pro-controller use the gyro-scope feature or d-pad? Either way I see the pro-controller as an advantage because you're not having to control two seperated parts. I guess if someone uses a pro-controller to even the playing field the person with the Joy-Cons would have to slap them into the grip to emulate the pro-controller's preciseness.

Re: Soapbox: You're Going To Love ARMS, And Here's Why

WarlockNem

@Sakura I'm sure there is a single player mode that hasn't really been mentioned yet. Most fighting games come with them. I imagine Nintendo is just trying to market the crap out of the multiplayer aspect to entice that crowd. It's similar to what they did with Splatoon which had an awesome single player experience that no one knew about unless you actually bought the game and just happen to walk up on Capt. Cuttlefish by accident in the hub world. Which actually has me hoping that there will still be a story mode in Splatoon 2.

Re: Super Mario Run Has Been Built on Unity

WarlockNem

@Mega_Yarn_Poochy How is something that is an endless runner not an endless runner? In an endless runner your character never stops running and you usually have to press the screen to jump away from obsticals. Super Mario Run does exactly this.

Re: Random: Stranger Things Star Was In Smash Bros. Wii U Commercial

WarlockNem

@A01 Hah, same! I read it and by the end I was questioning myself "Why did I read this article in the first place???Can't even remember now..." Looked up at the title again and still read it as Star Wars " Oh yeah right! Now what does THIS have to do with Star Wars!?!?" Didn't even realize it didn't say that until reading your comment. Read the title a third time and was like "Oh! Okay..."

Re: Nintendo Appears at Apple Conference to Announce Super Mario Run

WarlockNem

Okay so I'm going to back track and bring up my last comment but one would almost assume with the NX launch, Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem app releases, all happening with in the same month, plus being pretty certain that the Mario game Miyamoto spoke of that he was developing utilizing a new way to play could all pretty much mean that the NX Itself definitely could very well be Nintendo's entrant into the mobile tablet market. I'm seeing it work similarly to DSi also where the games being released on iOS and android will all also be playable on the NX but with NX specific unlockables features.

"It's interesting that, over many years and with so much coverage, Dolphin seems to have been left alone by Nintendo"

Well expect for things to happen now, You've covered it. Or are you aware of this and your coverage is of deliberate means to engage the attention of Nintendo? I mean it doesn't bother me either way I would love to be recognized by Nintendo myself, just never under the guise of enthusiasm for things that tread lightly over Nintendo's realm for what they approve of and what they do not. If you are trying to be a legitimate Nintendo news source that calls for you to assume the role of Nintendo's white knight embrace it fully and stop writing between the lines.

Re: Splatoon's Last Splatfest is Next Month

WarlockNem

Why are people under the assumption that just because Splatfest is ending the servers for multiplayer are closing down? I'm sure multiplay in splatoon has a few more years left, the online structure of the Wii U is more current making it a little easier to maintain than Nintendo's last gen console and hand held. I'm pretty sure we won't feel the burn that was the Wii's form of online support with the modern structure of the Wii U.

Re: Tell Us What to Do in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

WarlockNem

@ThanosReXXX in the original LoZ for the NES if you attacked the hermit hanging out in the first wood dungeon the vases in the room would start hurling fireballs at you. Your comment reminded me of that and I too was wondering if he would indeed attack you if provoked like in the very first game since BotW is being compared to that one so much.

Re: Weirdness: We've Made Some Outlandish E3 2016 Predictions for No Real Reason

WarlockNem

@Sanicranfast I love playing my ambassador games just the way they are without the save states and such. It feels more authentic that way and the simple fact that Nintendo won't do it for emulation reasons is sort of dumb I guess considering they released N64 VC games on the original Wii without those same emulated functions and had no problems with it.

Re: SNK Playmore Rebrands As Plain Old SNK

WarlockNem

So the founder of all three companies SNK, Playmore Corporation, and SNK Playmore, Eikichi Kawasaki has no stake in any of this at all anymore? If so that's kind of sad but if it takes completely new leadership to make SNK great once again I guess that's what needs to be done.
