@Utena-mobile I read your comment as XIII being your first FF game? Not knocking you if it was and I'm glad to hear you liked it. I was a fan more for the characters and not so much the gameplay which annoyed me at times but I still enjoyed it. Still if it was your first and you liked it I commented to promote FFVI as a FF game for you to hunt down and play some day. For me that was a definitive FF title that everyone should experience. Terra/Tina, Locke, Kefka the main antagonist, so many awesome characters involved in one of FF best adventures.
My daughter and I have this game on PS3. We bought the physical copy for $20 to get the seasonal pass. It's a pretty fun game and it's sad to see people disregard it for it's involvement with Minecraft. The characters and story are excellent. My daughter just loves anything Minecraft related and I have fun playing it with her. We already have Minecraft itself on PC, iPad, and had it on Xbox 360 before we sold it but that was only to justify buying it for the Wii U which will be pretty soon. Now that Story Mode is on Wii U as well I might just have to buy it in support of the franchise actually making it's way over to Nintendo. I'm sure my daughter wouldn't mind Minecraft and Nintendo are two of her favorite things.
Doesn't a lot of the original Hudson Soft employees work for Nintendo now? Yes the slow death of Hudson Soft is a sad one but they mostly all ended up at a better place!
Okay, so there should have been an option on the first poll that states "I already own it on various platforms but I'm also planning to get the Wii U version as well." because my daughter is a huge fan of both Minecraft and Nintendo. When I told her that it was finally on it's way to the Wii U she immediately wanted it. Which was no surprise to me because me and her mother have already had to spend money buying the PC, Xbox 360, and Mobile versions of the game. Plus I like to get on it with her from time to time, we have a lot of fun on it as a family. Getting it for the exclusive Nintendo licensed content later on is enough to make yet another purchase of the same game worth it. It fits in well in the Nintendo's library and in my opinion is not at all to late, seeing my daughter's eyes brighten up at the mere mention of anything Nintendo or Minecraft related is great in my book.
@rsanchez1 Yeah that's unfortunate. "Oh how cute, look at Nintendo and their copycat little mech game. Now the kids have something to play too while I live on Fallout 4" I wish X had more of a reach, people are truly missing out not giving such an awesome game a chance just because, Nintendo....
@rsanchez1 Well techically other than the first Xenoblade Chronicles the Xeno series has always delt with some form of mechs. Xenogears had Gears and The XenoSaga trilogy had the A.G.W.S. Oh and keep this in mind originally in the earlier Fallout games before 4 they were just power armor suits. In the Xeno series they've always been of the full blown Mech variety.
@rjejr I'll always call them Gears which is what they were called in the original Xenogears game. I remember trying to wrap my head around A.M.W.S. And E.S. what they were known as in XenoSaga. Now they're Skells, I'll just always refer to them as Gears.
@Dpullam this is the game that made me want to get my Wii U so early on before it's announcement I was going to wait. When I read in an interview that Takahashi wanted to bring back what made Xenogears so special adding a massive open world like XBC but pushing the limits of the current tech I was sold on this game and getting the Wii U all while patiently waited for it's release which is finally about to happen! The anticipation for this game has me feeling like a kid again!
It's sad seeing a game that belongs to an epic series such as the Xeno games get classified as a later pick up. This game should be a must have for any extreme RPG fan, even the new comers. Waiting usually devolves into never getting to it and something really awesome becomes underrated and over looked.
It looked okay but there really wasn't much to this. Chrono Trigger doesn't need a remake anyway, it's been ported so many times it's ridiculous. Awesome classic though.
If you have a problem with the censorship of this character you're either a horny underage kid yourself or a grown pervert. There is no practical reason for this character's outfit other than to be sexualized which in our culture is not acceptable. This sort of censorship is not a big deal, the game itself will most likely still be awesome!
@hiptanaka Sure IGA's metroidvania games were great but some of the earlier strait forward linear classic Castlevanias are better. It doesn't always have to follow his formula to be a good game in that series but with this said as far as Metroid itself I don't think I could or would even except a strictly linear action platforming game set in it's world. The set pieces in Metroid are meant to be explored. Mercury Steam I don't think would dumb that aspect of the game down which has been so well established in the series.
I don't have a problem with the redesign and I didn't have one with it even before it happened. It was also very easy to access and understand, I got everything within the first five minutes of it's launch. I did/do have conversations from time to time but the 30 daily posting limit doesn't seem to really be affecting any of that either so no big deal. Although now a lot of the kids that are butt hurt over the change migrated over to the Zelda community and are killing it with tons of randomness. Sad too because that used to be my favorite one to go to, now I don't really go there at all. Anyway change is good and I always welcome it no matter the outcome, it's always fun to try new things.
From the limited info that has been said/rumored of the NX I'm under the impression and coming to the conclusion that it is some sort of add-on device for the Wii U and from how it sounds the 3DS as well. All things point to how it will be cross compatible with said hardware so I believe it was developed to improve the over all experience of the existing hardware and Nintendo might be using it to entice 3rd parties to jump back on board. Being an add-on it can still be a new gaming platform just think of the N64DD or Sega's CD and 32x add-ons. Each were built to improve the experiences of existing gaming platforms while creating their own experiences seperate from the previous hardware. I'm almost sure that this is going to be something similar at this point.
So is this actually a completely new stage created specifically for online play? Normally they are just stages you could already play in Hero mode but I've played through that mode 3 times and don't remember this one.
If I want to play Dragon Quest VII I'll just play my PSX copy of Dragon "Warrior" VII on my PS3 which ironically I've been doing for the past few days anyway. I'm fine with the original localization and really could care less for the 3DS remake, Square Enix can keep it.
Seeing this on the E-Shop today totally blew me away. I have always been aware of the rom floating around on the internet titled Earthbound Zero of the unreleased translated prototype but never could get my head around playing it that way but this.... as a virtual console title on my Wii U I am definitely going to play it now. Playing on the console proper is the way to go. I am a huge fan of the game of the Mother game we know as Earthbound and have always been intreged by the titles we never got. This is so freaking cool!
Me, my daughter, and wife are having a lot of fun with this game. Best original Nintendo IP in a long time! I'm actually very happy with every aspect of this game. A very appealing and fun but severely under hyped single player story mode (which is my favorite thing about the game as a matter of fact), a well executed online multiplayer mode (which actually did a very good job at getting me back into playing online, something I haven't done and hasn't been fun for me in ages), and the 1 on 1 dojo battles, we (my family) have a blast with this mode. Can't wait for the extra content to roll out over the next few months but I'm still pretty satisfied with what we got day 1!
@WaveBoy Yes Rondo of Blood was the more preferable way to play Richter Belmont's story but Dracula X was still a very fun game to play. It was very classicvania styled and was a nice looking game on top of that.
@Mommar Actually the majority of Castlevania titles have been on consoles and yes while mainly on Nintendo hardware my point is that the series was pretty well known and popular even before the hand held push of SOTN gameplay clones. Not bagging those games I'm a huge follower of the series as a whole even the Igavanias I'm just trying to point out that consoles are the perfect home for this game considering that's how Castlevania itself started out. People might argue this but in my opinion throwing Castlevania on handhelds to a clique cult fanbase is what outcasted it from the public eye and is solely responsible for the series slow agonizing death (back then by the way I'm pretty aware that it's a much more preferable way to game these days, still doesn't mean that this game is more at home on hand helds) I'm not even going to blame the Mercury Steam trilogy like most people would. Sadly Castlevania was already on it's way out or even actually out the door by the time those games were made.
@justlink Nothing, this game has the potential to make us feel just like we did playing Earthbound/Mother or any of the other games in the series. By looking through the site you can tell they are being very careful with it and care about what they are doing. I can't wait to play this when it comes out. Plus the original creator is apparently okay with this project and has no ill will toward it.
I have anticipated this "fan" game for a while and so has my wife. There is a large community of Earthbound/Mother fans that also support this project and want to see it released. Like I said above Itoi himself is pretty aware of this game being made and sort of gave his okay on it. So for me to see this type of negativity outside of the community is staggering. My excitement starts to become fear knowing that Nintendo will shut it down due to the unnecessary hate generated by their consumers left from comments on slightly high profile fan news sites such as this one. I don't see the harm in a free fan game that actually took the time to create their own original content, it's not a complete rip off if one at all. The hate towards it baffles me...
I've been following the development of this game for years which anyone can do on it's website. They are pretty clear that this is a fan made project and the assets like the sprites, tilesets, and music are made from scratch. Yes I can see similarities in the official games as this one but certain things have to be so that it retains the feel of the games made in the past. After all it is a love letter to the series. There is a huge team behind this game and Itoi himself is actually aware of its development and basically game it an okay.
@Retrogamer88 From what news I've heard of this game it is built around multiplayer because it is an MMO. Although I haven't had the chance to watch this release trailer yet to confirm it for myself so that news from a day or so ago might be out dated and inaccurate.
The DKC games were extremely fun (more notably the first one) and to a degree pretty nice to look at but even for their time you could feel the limitations set upon them by the hardware. I still loved my SNES and those games either way.

I am very interested in a lot of these games especially Giana Sisters. I owned the original game on my Commodore 64 back in the early 90s and loved it.
I imagine them utiIizing smart devices by maybe putting minigames for download in app stores that will only get people to want to play full on Nintendo games on Nintendo's devices. For example a small downloadable game app based solely on the Captain Toad levels from SM3DW. Not necessarily those same levels but a whole new game with the same concept. Then an app that let's you access a unified account based eshop and browse Nintendo related news is a great idea also.
Is there a huge difference between both versions of Scribblenauts Unlimited that would justify rebuying the game for Wii U? We already have a copy that's been floating around the household from person to person for the 3DS.
You're not really missing out on anything. It's not that great of a service anyway. I find myself not ever using it. Nintendo TVii is a really bad concept that needs to be worked on further if it ever wants to be remotely useful.
Never really played the 16 bit Road Rash games much or at all but I did own the Road Rash released on the Panasonic 3DO and RR64. I really enjoyed those games very much and always wanted new titles in the series but if a successor is all we're going to get I hope they can pull it off.
@Pod I was reading the comments and on the way down I wondered "Why hasn't anyone brought up Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen!?That game was great!" Which I was about to comment on an then I saw your post and had to reply.

Albert Odyssey was a great RPG for the Saturn as well. Actually all of the RPGs that were translated and brought over to the U.S. were awesome I miss that system.
@unrandomsam There is a remake of Nights into Dreams for the Wii. It was retitled Knights: Journey into Dreams. I used to own it and it was pretty fun.
Does anyone remember Beyond the Beyond? I thought that was a fun RPG during the early years of the Playstation. Yes it wasn't one of Camelot's greatest moments but I would love to see that world revisited. I am a big fan of their efforts with the Shining series though and would think a remake on 3DS would be awesome.
