Re: Video: New Switch Hardware Won't Stop Bad Ports

WallyWest

@Wexter I think the issue with modern games though is once they drop last gen Devs will really start taking advantage of what the SSD's bring, granted this sounds like PR talk but SE have said the reason FF7 Remake sequels are exclusive to PS5 is because the PS5 has the SSD speeds needed for them. Look at Returnal that game is a game built with an SSD in mind, the instant transition between the various game worlds is pretty incredible and something last gen could never do without some kind of loading. Hopefully Nintendo can find a way round that or current gen games may be very uncommon for Switch 2 or Pro or whatever they name it.

Re: UK Charts: Bayonetta 3 Takes The Bronze In A Strong Week For Nintendo

WallyWest

@MythTgr Considering how Bayo 3 ends i have zero interest in a Bayo 4 unless it hard retcons that travesty of an ending Bayo 3 has. As for Viola yeah she has that air of DMC4 Nero in that no one asked for her, she takes away the spotlight from the reason we bought the game and overall doesn't deserve the place Platinum give her.

Re: Review: Resident Evil Village Cloud - A Solid Streaming Version For Switch Owners

WallyWest

@Old_Man_Nintendo DF say otherwise and have the evidence in their video. I'm around half way into the story and its painfully obvious to anyone used to 60fps that it can barely reach 60fps, between the lackluster resolution (that on a 4K TV stands out hard) and the poor performance the game visually is only saved by great art and character design. Its a fantastic game though and its a testament to how great it is that i can push through the performance but it is a game that pushes the Switch too hard.

Re: Review: Resident Evil Village Cloud - A Solid Streaming Version For Switch Owners

WallyWest

@Sculptor I love comments like this as it shows how much people don't know. Yeah those games run on Switch so what? Do they run on the RE Engine? No so its pointless comparing. To get the RE Engine on Switch for MH they had to completely rebuild it for Switch, in a lot of ways its a different engine to the one what powers RE Village. The engine what powers the new RE games and DMCV is built for more powerful consoles, you can't just port it or downgrade for a console not much more powerful then a 360. Also you see NMS on Switch? It lacks 2 key features, has tons of downgrades both big and small and has had many things removed or downgraded they might as well be removed, the more i play NMS on Switch the more i've come to accept HG shouldn't have wasted time on this version even if i love having it on the go. Village is a demanding game and running on a engine made for more powerful hardware.

Re: Bayonetta 3 Spoilers Surface Online Ahead Of Next Week's Release

@Lady_rosalina If you can't be bothered to read my whole reply then i why should i bother being respectful back? I will though. Question why hire Jennifer Hale? She costs way more then Taylor ever was and her fee would be huge and not worth it over Taylor unless what Jason reported is true. Also come on Jason is the most credible journalist in gaming. If he thought what his sources said was false he wouldn't have reported it, the fact separate news outlets backed him with their own sources adds more credibility to it. What Bloomberg has done in the past has no bearing on this and even still they're way more credible then Taylor who accused Platinum of something with no actual evidence and then attacked Hale. Finally read Hale's response, she may be under an NDA but her tone was clear and she made sure it was easy to read between the lines while remaining classy.

Re: Bayonetta 3 Spoilers Surface Online Ahead Of Next Week's Release

WallyWest

@Lady_rosalina and what proof did Taylor provide? The burden is on her here. If Bloomberg/Jason reported it then those sources were very credible and yeah they aren't named because they want to keep their jobs, Jason was backed up by others as well with their own sources. End of the day in hindsight her story makes little sense why? Because they cast Jennifer Hale who would cost a lot lot more then Taylor did in any of the games. Platinum's version of this just makes way more sense and has way more logic while Taylor is clearly just bitter, greedy and by her own admission not doing well mentally, her story has holes and it makes no sense if you really think about it.

Re: Talking Point: Given The Voice Artist Controversy, Will You Be Boycotting Bayonetta 3?

WallyWest

Look i feel for her and i love her as Bayo but voice actors get screwed over all the time sadly, if i boycotted every game where this happens then i would only be playing games with no voice acting in them. Asking fans to boycott the game was unreasonable and it either makes you feel guilty or look like an @ss if you buy it regardless. I lost respect for her with her comments about Hale and being honest after digesting this more, reading and hearing other peoples takes i'm starting to wonder if there's way more to this that Taylor has left out. I'm not siding with Platinim but at the same time should we just blindly accept everything she says as truth? I don't think she's lying at all but i can't help but think she might be omitting stuff that could not help her cause.

Re: Bayonetta's OG Voice Actor Asks Fans To "Boycott" Third Game After PlatinumGames Wage Fallout

WallyWest

Well damn that's uh pretty not what i expected. Honestly while i side with her i really don't like the shade she threw at Jennifer Hale and she lost my respect for that, this is not Hale's fault one bit she's just doing her job. I may have actually boycotted because Bayo means a lot to me and Taylor is a massive reason i love the games and character so much but throwing shade at Hale whose done nothing wrong just loses a lot of my empathy for her on this.

Re: No Man's Sky Waypoint Update Is Now Live On Switch

WallyWest

@graviton You know the space stations? The side what has the portal, there's a whole line of stands you can go to, the one closest to the portal sells maps that to lead to various things like Exosuit upgrades.

As for your ship and stuff yeah in Creative they have infinite health. Creative Mode is basically God Mode so there's zero risk of any danger.

Re: No Man's Sky Waypoint Update Is Now Live On Switch

WallyWest

@graviton You don't need protection upgrades in Creative as you have infinite health. Exosuit wise the only tech you really need in Creative is Movement upgrades.

As for adding more slots to your suit well there's 2 ways. Everytime you visit a new Station you can buy a tech slot or storage slot, you buy them at the side what sells the tech upgrades. The 2nd way is you can buy a map what will lead you to a exosuit upgrade on the planets, you buy them on Stations at the stand next to the Portal.

Re: Review In Progress: No Man's Sky - Right Up There With The Very Best Switch Ports

WallyWest

@Seacor Don't think cross save will ever be possible with Switch versions. The Switch version lacks Settlements and with that it lacks all the items and mission rewards from it, a PC save with that stuff could break the game if it was transfered to Switch. Also to my understanding the Switch version has its own universe while PS, Xbox and PC all share the same one so again cross save with Switch would be very hard or impossible to do.

Re: Review In Progress: No Man's Sky - Right Up There With The Very Best Switch Ports

WallyWest

@Nanami_Ataraxi Yeah as i said the custom mode makes it so anyone can play it the way they want. For instance want the danger of pirate ships and dangerous planets but no grind? Simple you set the danger levels of those things to medium or max and then set the cost of buying and crafting to low or just straight up free, that's just a small example but its pretty cool. Hopefully the new update just drops soon as its tailored made for new players.

Re: Review In Progress: No Man's Sky - Right Up There With The Very Best Switch Ports

WallyWest

@Nanami_Ataraxi The new Waypoint Update already out on the other versions due on the Switch anytime soon adds some modes what will suit you perfectly. You have Relaxed Mode, its basically easy mode where everything from Normal Mode is there but stripped back, its designed to make everything far easier and less grindy but not be full on God mode that Creative Mode is. Finally there's Custom Mode, that allows you alter and change every aspect of the game to suit your needs, its pretty in depth and gives you full control over how you want the game to be for you.
