Re: Mortal Kombat 1's First DLC Character Has Seemingly Been Confirmed

WallyWest

@CharlieGirl You miss the days where if you wanted to play as Scorpion in MK3 you had to buy MK3 again under its Ultimate version? Have you seen how many versions of SF2 there is?

People really have rose tinted views on how fighting games were and how they were sold. DLC is perfect for fighting games why? It keeps the games going for years and years, if they had no new content players would drop off after a few months.

@YonkoBuggyTheClown Wait you know what the Days Gone devs are making next? Because nothing has been annouced on what their next game is. You're proving my points dude. Tell me what is more of the same? I listed a bunch of games all different from each other you have listed jack.

Finally i own all 3 consoles mate and i shell be upgrading my Series S to a Series X hopefully in time for Starfield the game i haven't been this hyped about since Elden Ring. Yeah i don't like MS because they're awful and one of the most aggressive anti consumer corps in the world, its quite ironic seeing Don Mattrick disciples like Phil Spencer cry about all the things Sony are meant to be doing considering he works for the company that own Windows. Sony are scummy like all corps are but MS is off the Amazon, Google and Tencent breed while Sony is just that typical VG company scummy breed.

Re: Soapbox: It's The Port I've Dreamed Of, But Can Switch Deliver The Batman We Need?

WallyWest

@shgamer Why do people fall on it can run TW3 card all the time? Knight is way more demanding then TW3, TW3 is largely made up of big "empty" forests, hills and grasslands with one or two taxing city areas. Knight though has thick heavy rain, a huge dense city, big draw distances, tons of detailed destruction, insanely detailed character models and textures, fast paced Batmobile combat and driving, insanely fast combat and far more. Knight could pass as an early PS5 title if not for the 30fps framerate and low resolution.

@YonkoBuggyTheClown Fanboy much? Sony's one note? Yeah because Spider-Man, Returnal, Ratchet and Clank, Days Gone, Bloodborne, Ghost of Tsushima, and The Last of Us are all the same game.

Funny thing is the stuff you're accusing Sony off is the same stuff MS do and do far more. I swear fanboys and Sony haters just ignore that MS are just as bad if not worse and do all those things big bad Sony does.

Re: The FTC Doesn't Seem To Think Switch Is A Serious PlayStation & Xbox Competitor

@GrailUK Except how is Nintendo a competitor really? They go after a different market and the Switch to most PS and Xbox players is like how they treated the GBA or 3DS. Nintendo are not really a threat because people don't pick their consoles over PS and Xbox they instead get their Xbox and PS first and then buy the Nintendo console after to go on the side for the exclusives, there's also the fact that since the Wii the consoles have been so weak that none of the big hitters release on them that could take away PS and Xbox sales. Phil is just doing his doing his usual BS PR thing to look good, neither him or Jim consider Nintendo a rival to them.

Re: The FTC Doesn't Seem To Think Switch Is A Serious PlayStation & Xbox Competitor

WallyWest

@CutchuSlow Are Nintendo 1st place? The Switch is a last gen console and most of the games realising now don't get Switch ports. Nintendo have yet to release their "next gen" console and providing its another Switch type console it will do well however i doubt it will be reaching the levels of the current Switch in sales. Worth noting the reason the Switch sells so well is because its super popular with "casuals", my Sister doesn't really game but she has a Switch for AC and Mario Kart the only games she has interest in playing and a large number of Switch users are like that in that they have one for Pokemon, AC, Mario Kart, Smash, Minecraft, Fortnite and maybe BotW/TotK. The audience that also game on PS and Xbox most likely don't have overtake the "casual" market on Switch.

Re: The FTC Doesn't Seem To Think Switch Is A Serious PlayStation & Xbox Competitor

WallyWest

@GrailUK The Switch is a market leader because its also handheld and appeals to people who might not be interested in PS and Xbox. If the Switch wasn't a handheld and didn't have the "casual" audience then the Switch would be getting sales the Gamecube and Wii U had. The reason the Wii and Switch have been so massive is because they offer things that PS and Xbox don't as well as being that "2nd console". Despite what Phil says neither Sony or MS see Nintendo as real competition because most gamers don't pick a Nintendo console as the console of choice for the gen and those that do were never buying PS or Xbox anyway.

Re: Talking Point: Is Tears Of The Kingdom The Scariest Zelda Game Ever?

WallyWest

@kadams8670 Being honest the only times i'm outright scared by a horror games is when they're 1st person as its way more personal for me in that view, Alien Isolation and the 1st act of RE7 really got me at times. I feel tension in 3rd person games and jump scares get me but not in the way i have to take a break because its too much.

I will say the game that gave me a sense of real dread and unease was Dark Souls 2, there's a real feeling of not quite right about its world and characters and i felt a real sense of horror because of that even more then Bloodborne.

Re: Soapbox: Pokémon Desperately Needs A Rival, But Who's Big Enough To Take It On?

WallyWest

@mariomaster96 Technical issues aside S/V are the best Pokemon games since Gen 5 in my opinion. They have a great story, great characters, a great rival, great selection of new PM with some instant classics and a pretty good open world with Pokemon that actually feel somewhat alive in it. If the technical state was better and it had better visuals i bet nearly everyone would be saying its one of the best entries.

Re: Soapbox: Pokémon Desperately Needs A Rival, But Who's Big Enough To Take It On?

WallyWest

The issue with trying to challenge Pokemon is nearly every pretender lacks the one thing Pokemon has and that's the appeal of the Monsters themselves. Pokemon is far bigger then the just the games and a big reason the likes of Pikachu and Charizard are so popular and well known is because of the Anime, Charizard also was that one PM card we all really wanted back in the day. Pokemon is not just a VG its a massive brand and every single PM transcends the games so when people play a PM game its less the gameplay they're in for and more the PM themselves. Temtem might do a lot of things better but its monsters are never going to draw in people because they are pretty exclusive to the game, i mean i was in love with the PM anime and the TCG before i even touched the games so a big reason i wanted to play the games was because i was already a fan something Temtem will never have with players. Honestly this is why i love MH Stories, because i'm already a big MH fan the appeal of catching my very own pet Nerg or Rath is highly appealing but of course for that to work you need to be a MH fan already. Nothing can rival Pokemon, Digimon came closest (and anime wise was and is far better) but it could never keep pace with PM and it lacked a good enough game to even pose a minor threat to PM.
