Finally bought the Fire Emblem Engage DLC in the recent sale, so having a really good time playing through this again

Fire Emblem Engage. As a big fan of the older games (on the GBA) this just really feels great. I loved 3H (finished my fifth and final route just before starting Engage) but this surpasses it in just about every way for me.

When I was reading Game of Thrones last year it really made me want to play through thd Banner Saga again. A fantastic epic of a game, really enjoyed the pairing.

Just finished Earthbound last night, never played before. I used save states but did not find it too much of a chore. I think I am more forgiving of older games but I really enjoyed it . I also feel glad to have played a game that has inspired so many of my current favourites. Thanks Backlog Club!

Continuing my first journey through Earthbound, finding it very addictive. Got my full team and the 6th melody so I think I might be on the final stretch and I've enjoyed every minute.

Really loving this game AND discovered my Switch tracks how long I've been playing SNES games in the app. 834 minutes and think I'm about halfway.

I have been meaning to play this for ages, this gives me the perfect reason to join in. Thank you backlog club. The excellent Witcher 3 DLC (finished Heart of Stone, just started Blood and Wine) can wait another month!

I played it on wii virtual console, great game. Wasn't it on Wii U VC (I missed out on Wii U)?

I just finished this game (true ending) last night. Really great game, personally I didn't grind at all (played on hard, but I did do all the sub-quests as I went along). Going to play Bowser's Fury as a palate cleanser, hoping to get some more RPG goodness for Xmas!

@Lilmonix3 good to hear. I love the hard bosses, good to have an excuse to completely change your job mix etc which keeps it fresh. Then ACNH is the chill out in between. 🙂

Up to chapter 5 in Bravely Default 2, really enjoying it, no sign of fatigue 70hours in. Also dipping back into ACNH, mainly setting up a farm and collecting art and fossils, but only in short bursts.

Definitely going to replay this great game before the sequel comes out, I really hope they bring this update to Switch, sounds really interesting.

@The_Pixel_King thanks for the response. I was on the fence about buying physical now or waiting for an eshop sale but you've helped make up my mind. As soon as I finish Mon Hun Stories 2 it'll be on to Shibuya!

@The_Pixel_King out of interest did you play the first one? I loved the first but hearing mixed reports about NEO.

I still don't understand why we can't have both the Wii/Wii U full VC library for those that wish to pay for individual titles and keep the current NSO bonus offerings as well? I'm sure there us a market for both, especially at the current low price for a subscription.

About 10hours into Monster Hunter Stories 2. Going slow so me and my 10 year old can keep pace with each other. Really enjoying it.

Having a break from MH:Rise so I've just finished Anodyne (great game) and I'm about half way through the first Tiny Metal, getting hyped for Advance Wars Reboot Camp.

Must remember to play Tiny Metal before this comes out. Would have loved a new AW game but it's been long enough since I played the GBA ones that I'll definitely be getting this.

Really glad I won't have to scratch my Switch screen for this one. I love my Switch but the DS touchscreen just felt more sturdy somehow. Now I know this is designed without touchscreen it'll be a day one for me.

Monster Hunter Rise, getting stuck in to the early high rank but trying not to rush. Such a good game.

@Yosher I've been playing since launch and I didn't even know there was any paid DLC until your comment! They really don't push it, and it really is an excellent game.

Monster Hunter Rise! My third MH game and I'm enjoying it a lot, just going slow. Maining Charge Blade this time round as a new challenge as well.

Can't wait. I'm a casual player of some of the older games and my advice for new players is go slow. Don't worry about flashy combos or deep mechanics, just let it come naturally with practice. Enjoy the early game, and once you're killing monsters consistently then if you want, you can start looking up optimal builds and combos. This game is the perfect example of a marathon not a sprint.

Looks good, very interesting. Not keen on the name "Smelter" though but can't think of anything constructive to explain why...

@NateM94 it's not just you, I loved the underwater sections in tri too. Great fights and made the world feel so much more open.

I can't work out the second picture. Is she sitting on her sword? Why doesn't she fall over? This bothers me more than it should.

Does anyone know how long the demo is please? Might give it a try at the weekend although I feel demos never really do these games justice as the learning curve ends up being too steep.

I really want to give it a fair try but it is so ugly. Such a shame, I'm sure I'll get it at some point though, maybe if the price comes down.

Chapter 11 on Xenoblade Chronicles DE. Enjoying it but it is a real time sink. In between I am keeping my island going in AC:NH, not usually my thing but my girls love it and it's nice to help them out and play along with them (they both have have Lites and got a copy each for Xmas).

I love my purple gamecube. So many great hours, it defined my uni days (showing my age and general nerdy-ness). A true classic, I can't think of another console that has aged half as well.

Some parts look a bit like Minish Cap to me, especially with gust jar mechanics. That's a good thing by the way.

@UltimateOtaku91 There is no need to play any other entry in the series, this is a completely new game with new characters in a new location. Enjoy.

Bought my two daughters a copy each for Xmas (they have lites). Looks like I'll be paying out for a NSO family subscription too! I've never played an AC game myself but I might give it a little go...

Stolen my daughter's copy of Luigi's Mansion 3. In the mood for something a bit lighter before starting Xenoblade Chronicles DE and it seemed the perfect time to give it a try.

No thanks. I'm sure some people will get good mileage out of cloud gaming but it's not for me and I am certain there will always be a market for buying a game that you actually own and can play off the grid. I do watch Netflix but I will always want to own a copy of my favourite films whether that is DVD or Blu-Ray or whatever.

I was really excited for this, but I think it will be Monster Hunter Rise on preorder for me, and then get this later on in the year maybe. Something just doesn't grab me, unlike the 3DS games or Octopath (which I absolutely loved).

Wanted to play this since reading all the references to it in Subsurface Circular, can't wait.

I can highly recommend Wargroove on sale, it so good and the included DLC is excellent.

Looks good but is this a roguelite or do you replay the same few levels until you have grinded (ground?) enough exp to make it to the next era?
