Re: Hands On: The Witch Is Back - Bayonetta 3 Is Real, And We've Played It

@Chunkboi79 Switch have nearly same hardware as Wii U, so it's getting old. The Tegra chip inside Switch were 3 year old when Switch launched in 2017.
Switch have dated terrible considering Steam Deck handheld can run even Forza Horizon 5 and Spider_Man natively. Switch couldn't even run downgraded ports of those games.
It must suck for Platinum to not be able to make a PC version too, as they said love high specced gaming PC's.

I think it's a bit weird that Nintendo releases none of the third party exclusive games on PC too, like Sony did for many years.

Re: Embracer Group Acquires Limited Run Games, Lord Of The Rings IP & More

@Old-Red There is various reasons, and also how they rip off people.

One of the videos. "The Truth About Limited Run Games"

Example.
They sold a game with no DLC for 60$
Then the original publisher also makes a physical, selling it including all DLC for 30$.

Then they sell overpriced Collections where the stuff looks like someone made it at home in a hurry etc.
They also sell 1$ games for 40$.

@valcoholic Embracer / THQ Nordic is Swedish.
Lots of the developers they bought is Swedish too.
Embracer/THQ is the only giant publisher in whole Europe.

People have for years been positive with Embracer purchases, because they revive so many franchises and also made a few proper remakes. Embracer is the only publisher on the planet i think who always gets "free pass".

Microsoft is worth around 65 times as much as Embracer.
Embracer is only worth 50% of Activision. In fact Embracer worth about same as Electronic Arts.

EA or Embracer is the second largest third party, after Activision
In fact EA is worth more than UBI, Bethesda, 2K Games, Square Enix and even more combined.

Activision is worth nearly the same as Nintendo.
Whole Sony including movies and electronics is only worth 2.7 times as much as Activision.

I forgot to check Tencent...They are the 11th largest company on the planet. They are worth more than Nintendo, Sony and Activision combined.

Re: Gallery: Nintendo Shares Stunning New Screenshots Of Bayonetta 3

@Korgon Yes, but Nintendo want exclusive like this even if it wont sell that well. Mario Kart sales pays for it. Gap filling. Anyways. Both Sony and Microsoft refused Bayonette before they went to Nintendo.
Sega had more interrest in PC games in recent time as half of Sega AAA games is PC exclusives. Sega owns 2 of the best RTS companies ever.

@Duncanballs

I still own all the Asterix cartoon movies on retail VHS, and i own all 3D Asterix Animation movies and real action movies on Blu-Ray and DVD.
I bought them when they were released as they would be out of print at some point.
I were a movie collector since 1980's and is why i kept collecting. Nowadays i only buy 4K UHD Discs.

Physical is dying fast and lots of 4K is already out of print too...
When 4K dies, there will sadly be no more movies to buy as 4K UHD will be the last retail format ever.

Re: Ubisoft Confirms 'Roller Champions' Is Finally Out On Switch Today

@NerdyPandaPlays Yeah, especially Mario Kart which usually sells to 50% of console owners.
On Wii U i think 60-70% bought MK 8. In fact Wii U version were far more hyped than Switch version because of Luigi Stare, YouTube replays etc. YouTube were removed on Switch version.

To be fair Wii U got great support for exclusives, and got custom upgraded Wii U versions of NFS Most Wanted, Tekken Tag Tournament etc. Also. Rayman Legends, Deus EX HM and Ninja Gaiden 3 RE were designed for Wii U, and later ported.
Both Call of Duty games on Wii U. Many other games have a lot of custom features like Mass Effect 3, Batman Arkham etc.

Even with the long list of Wii U exclusives being ported to Switch, people still beg for more Wii U ports in 2022 as some of the major exclusives on it is still not on Switch.

Virtual Boy can't really be compared to any other Nintendo failure.

@Nin10doh
Wii U had a long list of great exclusives, but still failed. I bought Wii U at launch and never regretted it...

  • Wii didn't have more power than GameCube.
  • Switch is a different version of Wii U hardware.
Point is. They can't release same Wii U system power for the third time.
AMD is in forefront of handheld chips now, and Nintendo uses NVIDIA.

Anyways. Steam Deck is not a competitor to Switch at all as it's aimed at PC players who already use Steam.
The hardware inside Steam Deck is almost 2 years old now if you didn't know.
Steam Deck were late to the PC handheld game, but most famous because Valve is behind it.

My point is that Switch is in reality using hardware from year 2012 (Wii U). Time for a upgrade.

@dres Cloud gaming is very nice for testing games before you install them natively.
Xbox and PC owners also use it for weekly MS rewards.

As for cloud gaming in general. Mass market don't know what input lag is, so they are fine with cloud gaming as it is today.

You are also right that you don't own any game you buy digitally. When store, server and DRM is gone, your purchase is lost.

This is why i pay for Game Pass permanently. To me Game Pass is a cheap game rental service that saved me 1000's of $ in wrong purchases already, and purchases generally.

I still buy games of course, but not games that i know will be on Game Pass.

Re: Konami Terminating Super Bomberman R Online, Will Move Forward With "New Projects"

Ventilator

@Serpenterror Bomberman Online on Switch were dead for years and only supported 8 players. Back in 2019 i couldn't find any match online at all on Switch even with only 4-8 players.

Stadia version supported 64 players in same game and were populated longer than the 8 player version on Switch.

Also. Stadia were never intended to be Netflix of gaming ever, but someone else explained that to you already.
I guess you confused Phantom with Stadia.

Anyways. Fall Guys is 2 years old and lost it's momentum and novelty already in 2020.
Good luck when it finally releases on Switch.

Re: Konami Terminating Super Bomberman R Online, Will Move Forward With "New Projects"

@dres Nice to see someone who actually know what Stadia is. A rarity these days.
It's true that Stadia never were intended to be Game Pass. In fact Stadia is still misunderstood in 2022, I knew what Stadia were from the beginning. It's like nearly everyone got it wrong.
Stadia 1080p/60 have no monthly paid sub.
I had some trials there, so i have 10's of games there and i own 2 premium kits.
F2P Games were always 100% free for everyone on Stadia at 1080p. Destiny 2, Bomberman etc.
Did you know that Stadia last 2 years have been UBI Soft's cloud service for all their games?

The library isn't that good on stadia, because Google isn't willing to gamble. Stadia had bad reputation before it even launched, and it's hard to recover because of the toxic media who had no clue what Stadia is.

In reality, it had best gaming streaming and it MS Cloud barely catched up in 2022.
Microsoft knew you had to go all in to attract people. Microsoft also knew existing Xbox users would get discount for years which is a money loss.
In fact. I had up to 50% discount on Game Pass for nearly 4 years. February 2022 were the first time i started paying normal price for Game Pass Ultimate. I play on PC 95% of the time so.
Cloud for weekly MS Rewards.

The new Sony sub is better than Stadia, but doesn't included 1st party games on day 1 which is a big mistake.
To be fair, Sony lives on Gaming.
Xbox is only tiny part of Microsoft, and MS have endless money stream unlike Sony.
Microsoft were thinking 10 years ahead and went all in.

When XCloud is out of beta, MS will release their Xbox dongle for TV's and market it bigtime.

The biggest joke is actually Switch Cloud.
NVIDIA Shield TV from 2015 streams 4K/60 better than 1080p/720p Cloud on Switch on nearly same chip. Both is Tegra X1, but Switch version is downgraded since 2015 version.

I suspect Nintendo thought the proper streaming part of Tegra were irrelevant for Switch in the future.
Weird that a 180$ NVIDIA box from 2015 streams 4K/60 better than 720p/30 on Switch.
I bought 2 NVIDIA Boxes in 2015 at launch and they came with Gamepads and remote controls for that low price.
Still use them in 2022 as they were ahead of their time for streaming.
