@kurtasbestos How can you trust NL reviews?

They say it's light on content and yet fails to mention 60% of the game is missing vs PC version.
How is it not possible to not notice 60% of a game port is gone?
Did NL sleep when writing this review?

7/10 is by far too high score when 60% of the game levels is still exclusive to PC.
Not only that, but several of the most famous levels don't exist on Switch version.

According to Steam users, they call Switch version a SCAM.

Re: Review: Pinchcliffe Grand Prix - Surprisingly Charming Licensed Kart Racing

Ventilator

7/10 when 60% of the game is missing?

I own the original PC Anniversary Edition physically on DVD with over twice the content from year 2002.
The new LAME PC and Switch versions is missing majority of the game.

Should be rated 2/10 when most of the game is missing.
There is a list on Steam forums of all levels missing on Switch.

Giving a incomplete game 7/10 is a disgrace.

It's considered as one of the worst ports in history.

Re: One Of The Rarest SNES Games Ever Is Making A Comeback

Ventilator

@SpringDivorce Turrican digitally costs 30 Euro on Switch and 33 Euro on PS4.
There is so little new content that it only use 45.MB combined.
They could have added the Turrican CD OST as PCM, Turrican N64 concept stuff etc. to make it more attractive.
They showed Turrican 64 artwork sometime in 1990's.

This release here were released at the same time as Turrican last year.
Capcom Stadium.. 32 Arcade games for only 10 Euro more.

As for old Amiga games. Zool Remastered were released on PC in 2021. Still PC only.
They kept original gameplay, but zoomed camera out and remade gfx for Widescreen. If you have PC you should check it out on Steam.
Funded by SUMO Digital (Sackboy, Sonic Racing Transformed etc.)

Re: Capcom's Former Switch Exclusive Monster Hunter Rise Is Off To A Great Start On Steam

Ventilator

@Munchlax Yeah. It's weird.

I remember playing Red Faction 4 (Armageddon) on PS3.
It were nearly 15 hours long, but after 10 hours it became tedious and repetitive. A struggle to complete.

100% Assassins Creed Odyssey + all 3 Game Worlds took me 180 hours. More or less engaging all the time.

Point is. What's the point of a game that is great for like only 20 hours, and the rest is a endless boring grindfest for 180 hours?
That's nothing more than waste of time.

And there is 20 hours games with like 10-15 hours of video, and 5-10 hours of gameplay. cough*Sony*cough.
Those 20 hour games only have 5-10 hours of gameplay, as video is not gameplay.

Destiny 2 were fun for over 1000 hours for most people. (Including me).

Generally, many 10 hour games is way better than 200 hour games.
Endless backtracing and repetitive tasks is not fun.
These repetitive games were more fun in 1990's than now.

Re: Analyst Predicts 2024 Release Date For Next-Gen Nintendo Switch Successor

Ventilator

@BloodNinja Yeah. Kinda like Sony. Spider Man Miles Morales is a 70$ DLC, and they even had the balls to charge money from PS4 users to play this overpriced DLC on PS5.

Microsoft never charges for any upgrade. On top of it, you don't even need to pay for PC versions at all.
Meanwhile PS4 owners need to pay for same games again on PC.
Sony and Nintendo don't care about users at all.

I doubt any Switch game will work on next Nintendo console, because there is no money in it for Nintendo.

To be fair, Sony cared about PS3 and Nintendo cared about Wii U.
Wii U is the only time Nintendo ever cared about users for many reasons.
On top of it, Nintendo didn't charge 60 bucks for 30 buck games on Wii U.

Re: GoldenEye 007 Is Getting A Digital Release On Xbox

Ventilator

@Kayvoo Rare Replay..The true gem there is Kameo - Elements of Power. A lovely game aged well. I have it on Xbox One X with the free 4K/60 upgrade.

Xbox Series S is always available and costs same as Switch.
Buy it for Game Pass which also includes Rare Replay and 100's of other games.
Best and most affordable console bundle ever to exist.

Re: GoldenEye 007 Is Getting A Digital Release On Xbox

Ventilator

@fenlix Okay. But Nintendo then get money from it too.

Since Sony is going bigtime on PC, it's about time Nintendo port Bayonetta 2 due to age to PC.
Then port Bayonetta 3 to PC, 2-3+ years after release.
Platinum said they love PC because of the powerful hardware anyway, so they would port anything.

PC is neutral with no licensing fees and is why Sony is all over it now.
Sony started with PC to get easy money and to cover the cost of high budget games.
About time Nintendo jumps on the bandwagon.

Microsoft still makes PC games not for Xbox, but gets 100% of
Xbox games too.
A few years ago i swapped to PC again as it have a lot more power than PS5 and Series X. Bought a brand new PC in 2021 again.
Switch is my secondary. PS4 and Xbox One X is dust collectors.

Re: Square Enix President Knows You Hate NFTs Because You "Play To Have Fun"

Ventilator

UBI got so many dislikes they had to take down their NFT video.
Even then UBI will continue with NFT plans.

I know one thing. Even when NFT is optional, i refuse to buy any game with NFT as it's incomplete games.

NFT is a flawed system and i won't list all the reasons here.
You can find all the drawbacks on "search".

The main problem with NFT is that there is no proper infrastructure for this today anywhere.
If server with your NFT goes down, you lost the NFT with current internet.

NFT probably won't work decent until 10-20 more years.

Re: GoldenEye 007 Is Getting A Digital Release On Xbox

Ventilator

@Savage_Joe Yeah, but many claims the article is from a unreliable source. No one knows this for sure anyway.
It also looks like Nintendo isn't to blame for the cancelation of the Remaster as they had no saying.
Old movie based games is a licensing mess as too many companies is involved.
This is why so many other games can't be remastered.
Some license holders want too much money, and some refuse to give the license for remaster/remake to anyone.
KAIKO couldn't even get the license in recent years for a game they made in early 1990's, the legendary "Apidya" on AMIGA so they could make a HD version. I asked KAIKO directly and they told me.
Also. Only one guy own nearly all "Gremlin Interactive" licenses. For some reason SUMO managed to get Zool license in 2021, so they could remaster the game. Were released on Steam august 2021.

Nintendo probably didn't fund TW101, and neither were Fatal Frame or Lego City. They got paid for timed exclusivity.
After GameCube days, it became less common for lifetime exclusivity. Nowadays it's usually only 12 months.

Bayonetta 2 and 3 is fully Nintendo funded, so those can't be ported according to Platinum themselves.

As for Goldeneye it kind of looks like MS decides if Switch gets Goldeneye or not.

After Series X launched, MS supported Switch way less as MS want as much exclusives as possible because of Game Pass increasing in popularity.

Anyway. I have the leaked 360 version on PC and it runs at 60 FPS. Plays way better than N64 version.
Hopefully MS have upgraded the gfx a second time now time as 360 version is quite old now, but still looks a lot better than N64 one. MS sure have the resources to make it modern looking.
Goldeneye isn't a big game and a team of 10 people could upgrade it.

Re: GoldenEye 007 Is Getting A Digital Release On Xbox

Ventilator

@Jordboy1 Goldeneye were remastered for Xbox 360, but couldn't be released as Nintendo stopped it.
Wii were too weak to run the remaster and would also only be 480p/30? vs 720p/60 on 360. Wii would be stuck with a emulated N64 ROM.

The Xbox 360 remaster leaked online a year ago and runs flawless on PC with Xbox 360 Gamepad.

Re: GoldenEye 007 Is Getting A Digital Release On Xbox

Ventilator

@glaemay Nothing came close on PC at the time either.

It's not like Quake PC were anything like Goldeneye
The impressive Turok that came before Goldeneye were released on both N64 and PC, so that game don't count as it weren't a exclusive anywhere.
PS1 had too weak hardware and too little RAM for any major FPS.
Thats why PS1 were stuck with so much 2D Games.

Re: GoldenEye 007 Is Getting A Digital Release On Xbox

Ventilator

@Savage_Joe Nintendo owns the Nintendo 64 assets and those don't expire.
MS probably have a native one for Xbox with no emulation like the Xbox 360 version which also ran natively on 360. This way they don't use Nintendo's assets.

Since Microsoft is a Switch supported, they will probably release it on Switch sometime.

Re: GoldenEye 007 Is Getting A Digital Release On Xbox

Ventilator

@Banjo- TA were integrated into Xbox One since launch in 2013 Since 2013 you could get TA achievement guides in game on Xbox One on all games.
They had automatic scanning of all new achievements from MS servers since Xbox 360 days.

This is far from first time achievements showed up before confirmation. Happens x amount of times every year.

Re: GoldenEye 007 Is Getting A Digital Release On Xbox

Ventilator

@Austrian I said the same above. It can't be released on Xbox without Nintendo, so it's quite obvious it will be on Switch too.

Nintendo own the assets of Goldeneye. Not Microsoft or Rare.

In fact Microsoft blindly bought Rare.
They found out later that Goldeneye and Donkey Kong weren't included in the deal.

Re: GoldenEye 007 Is Getting A Digital Release On Xbox

Ventilator

@Friendly Well. PD and Banjo were extremely overhyped. They were never as good as the hype and dated terrible due to poor frame rate. Rare cared more about Graphics than Gameplay on N64.
I know, because i bought both on release on N64 because of hype.
Perfect Dark were very stale and static even for it's time on N64. PD on Xbox 360 which were more or less a HD version proved that. It will fail again when newest one releases in 2023 or something.
Rare on N64 is the reason why i stopped buying games based on lying hype only.
100% of their games also dated terribly. None of their games were timeless.

To be fair, Kameo and Sea of Thieves is the only games i ever liked from them and both aged well too.

Re: GoldenEye 007 Is Getting A Digital Release, But Not On A Nintendo Console

Ventilator

@Friendly Sea of Thieves the last 2-3 years is nothing like release version and and is why it have 25 million players.
SOT still also gets new free content. 100% were free since release. Just like "No Man's Sky" game.

Kameo not being great? Average review score is 80% or something. It were also praised on release.
It's a unique game even today.

Re: GoldenEye 007 Is Getting A Digital Release, But Not On A Nintendo Console

Ventilator

@Friendly Are you kidding?
Rare released several great games after Nintendo.

  • Kameo on Xbox 360 were one of the best games on that gen even when released in 2005 and still looks gorgeous with it's free 4K/60 upgrade.
Kameo were originally made for GameCube....Nintendo sure missed out there.
  • Sea of Thieves became a huge success.
  • Grabbed by the Ghoulies were great.
  • Kinect Adventures were fastest and most accurate camera controlled game on any system ever.

Let's not forget their great Rare Replay collection with 30 games for only 30 bucks.

They are currently making a new AAA RPG called Everwild.

Re: GoldenEye 007 Is Getting A Digital Release, But Not On A Nintendo Console

Ventilator

@Damo Goldeneye can't be released on Xbox without Nintendo's permission.
Nintendo blocked it from being released on Xbox 360, but this time they seem to have gotten an agreement with MS.
Microsoft deserves it looking at all their Switch support.

It can't be a coincidence that Banjo is coming to Switch this month, and Goldeneye achievements appearing same month.
My guess is that Banjo were part of a deal with Goldeneye.

Re: Review: BRAWL (Switch eShop)

Ventilator

@SoIDecidedTo Thanks. Yeah. Time flies.
"A Short Hike" is a praised game at least. It's a polished low-res game like Horace, but not same kind of game.
Have a great day you too.

Re: Review: BRAWL (Switch eShop)

Ventilator

@SoIDecidedTo It's common here to buy games and not playing them in near future.
i remember the announcer sounded cool in Brawl.

I own Horace on PC and played it a bit last year. Looks like a cool game.
"A Short Hike" is another game with similar gfx style.
