Re: Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Could Be Inducted Into The Video Game Hall Of Fame

Ventilator

@GrailUK Ignoring PC, Atari, Spectrum, AMIGA etc. 100% i see. I guess you don't know much about the gaming history at all.

PC, Amiga, Atari had huge open world games long before Zelda OOT existed.
The Elder Scrolls: Daggerfall, Elite, Hunter, Project IGI, Privateer, Magic Carpet, Frontier and a long list of other open world games existed before OOT.
Only a millenium kid would say Open World almost started with OOT, when it's in reality far down the list. lol

Don't forget home gaming were a big thing before even NES existed. Nintendo were late in the game.

Re: Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Could Be Inducted Into The Video Game Hall Of Fame

This award is a joke like "Rock'n Roll Hall of Fame" who inducts rappers, country etc. Meanwhile Dio, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Motorhead etc. is still not inducted as RRHOF thinks Rap is rock.

Candy Crush is just a rip off from many older games. It have nothing to in any award unless it's the most money making one.

Looking at age, Sid Meier's Civilization should already have been there.
If Pac-Man is already there, i don't see the point with MS Pac-Man.
Zelda OOT should have been there long time ago.

But as i said. This award is a joke like RRHOF as none of them makes sense.

Re: PlatinumGames' Live Service Title Is Off To A Really Bad Start

Ventilator

@locky-mavo Okay. Kind of like Sony and Hello Games.

"No Man's Sky" on release were a typical 20$ Indie as it were barebone, but Sony demanded them to charge 60$ for the unfinished game.
Sure they had many huge upgrades for free in NMS, but it shouldn't take 5-6 years after release to make a game complete.

Anyways. Square Enix always complains about their game sales, and i guess Babylon's Fall will hit them harder than ever because of their extreme greed. I'm glad people voted with their wallets.
Bayonetta 3 is probably their next hit game, but Platinum is starting to get a list of games that flopped last 10 years.

I wouldn't buy a Platinum game on day one anymore as they can't be trusted, but i will do an exception for Bayonetta 3.
I need to know if it's a paywall game first.

Re: Nintendo Switch Online Missions And Rewards: March 2022

Ventilator

@twztid13 Thank you. I guess the rewards isn't available everywhere as i haven't seen it on EU site here.

I remember Wii U Premium owners like me too.
On top of Gold points, you also got 20% discount reward cards for purchases the 2 first years.
Gold coins also had higher value on 3DS and Wii U than Switch as far as i remember.

Re: Knockout City Is Going Free-To-Play, Velan Studios Will Replace EA As Game's Publisher

@BaronMunchausen No problem. Daily KOC update started right now so time to do the daily contracts again.
I played it daily for months, and played over 1000 matches.
I'm in a proper crew, so there is action all the time as everyone know what to do at all times.

"Pass the ball" all the time to keep it charged is the most important thing perhaps.
With public matchmaking, there is sadly some who think KOC is a single player game and it's much harder to win matches then.

Uncharged balls is actually the most scary balls. You can throw them right down while flying.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Of Valve's Steam Deck Are In - What's It Like Compared To Switch?

Ventilator

@Preposterous It weights only less than 700 grams. People have to be weak to not be able to hold that for a long time.
To be fair my ancestors were vikings. Also shows in Winter Olympic medals winnings again in China. Strength.

It's not like switch Battery is any better. I'm lucky if i get 2-3 hours even on a simple Indie game.
Steam Deck battery can last up to 6 hours depending on game and settings.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Of Valve's Steam Deck Are In - What's It Like Compared To Switch?

Ventilator

@Neoicelord Console versions have the same bugs as PC versions if you look at patch notes.

I play 90% of the time on PC and haven't had much game problems in over 20 years.
I never bought a potato PC ever. On top shelve GPU, CPU's etc, so performance were never a problem either.

20 years ago you couldn't even fix broken console games as HDD weren't a standard in consoles.
Meanwhile PC versions could always be fixed.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Of Valve's Steam Deck Are In - What's It Like Compared To Switch?

Ventilator

@BenRK Yeah. It's a full PC as a handheld, and not a console at all.
It only looks like a Switch, but so does any other handheld today too.
When PC handheld becomes available here, i will buy one day 1.
I already stopped buying games on Switch i already own on PC, because PC versions is only locked to Steam etc. and not hardware. On top of that i can play on PC and resume "on the go".
I will still buy games on Switch, but that will be only exclusives.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Of Valve's Steam Deck Are In - What's It Like Compared To Switch?

Ventilator

@Serpo Steam Deck is a timeless handheld PC that's not tied to any generation.
As we know, PC itself is timeless.

Steam Deck won't fail, because it's a "Gaming Laptop" for pockets.
Saying Steam Deck will fail, is like saying Gaming Laptops should have died 10 years ago.

Also remember any Windows ever works on Steam Deck, Chrome OS, Linux etc.

Lenovo, Asus etc. will probably reveal PC handhelds this year.
Valve never planned to have this market alone. They just wanted to kickstart it and wake up Lenovo, Asus etc.

Re: Nightdive Studios Wants To Remaster Titles Like Eternal Darkness, But Hasn't Had Any Luck With Nintendo

Ventilator

@jsty3105 Hello again.

Here is something strange when it comes to Nintendo and unknown developers with no track record at all.

Velan Studios had never made a game ever, before Nintendo hired them to make Mario Kart Live.
Their second game weren't released until 2021.. Knockout City.
The two founders of Velan were not unknown. They founded Vicarious Visions in 1991 and is owned by Activision which is soon owned by Microsoft.

They made a Mario Kart Live prototype in 2017 without Nintendo knowing about it. lol
That's how they got hired.

Re: Knockout City Is Going Free-To-Play, Velan Studios Will Replace EA As Game's Publisher

Ventilator

@Moonlessky You should play it ASAP. Do all the tutorials first as they are very good at explaining how to play it.
Tutorial also shows you how to curve, lob, charge, catch etc, but also how each ball type works.
The main hideout of the game is a social area where you and friends can just mess around, or train against each other, or even play private matches.

Every day European time at 13:00, there is new daily contracts which makes you level up way faster.
Every time you level up, you get a costume, emote, holobux or something else.
In Game shop also updates daily.
Weekly contracts is new 13:00 every Tuesday.

You can add friends on Switch from PC, Xbox and PS.
KOC also supports cross-save. You can resume same save on PC and other consoles.

Re: Starbreeze's "25 Million" Selling Action-RPG Enclave Is Coming To Switch This Year

Ventilator

@Enigk Yeah. 25 millions have to be wrong. PC market for game sales were terrible back then and basically Enclave sales had to rely on Xbox 1 sales.

It sold 1.5 millions on Steam when it re-released in 2013.

Anyways. Willy Beamish on Amiga came on 15 floppies, but Amiga supported 4 floppy drives at the same time so you didn't need to swap disks often.

When i bought GTA 5 on PC, it came on 5 DVD's instead of one Blu-Ray.

Re: Nightdive Studios Wants To Remaster Titles Like Eternal Darkness, But Hasn't Had Any Luck With Nintendo

Ventilator

@jsty3105 Yeah, but they already had a foot inside at Nintendo which helped.
"Straight Right" became the #1 porting studio on Wii U, and since then logo were changed to Tantalus on Switch.
Mass Effect 3 and Deus EX were highly praised Wii U ports.
Zombi in 2015 were the last ever port from Straight Right.

That Wii U port were sloppy, but it's quite obvious UBI wanted a quick, cheap and dirty port with no effort. Zombi were forgotten the day it released. Only Wii U version is remembered.

I remember completing most of ME 3 on Xbox 360, but got stuck somewhere due to a bug making it impossible to complete.
Then i started ME 3 from scratch on Wii U and completed it there instead.
ME 3 online co-op on Wii U were populated for years after release, but same on 360. Lovely online game.

Re: Nightdive Studios Wants To Remaster Titles Like Eternal Darkness, But Hasn't Had Any Luck With Nintendo

Ventilator

@Wexter Yeah. Perhaps Nintendo don't want Eternal Darkness re-released as there were some controversary with the original developer after they went to Microsoft and took the GameCube game Too Human with them.
Microsoft itself were not the problem. SK themselves went to court with Epic and lost. Then Too Human had to be removed from all stores. You can find the whole story on google.
