Re: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Version 7.0.0 Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

Thundertron55

My main Toon Link was buffed! I hope the changes are notable. I feel that the "Increased Sheild Size" buff that most of the cast got meant nothing b/c Failnaught can shield break with a full change against a shield. It's pretty great if your Byleth. Not so much when your against him. Bit sad that Joker got nerfed but I knew it was going to happen eventually. BTW what exactly does the Arsene nerf mean? Is it that he is just around for a shorter period of time or is it that they increased the amount of time damage on the Rebellion Gage to make Arsene disappear quicker?

Re: Talking Point: How Often Do You Make The 'Switch Sacrifice'?

Thundertron55

Switch is my only console so I don't have to make any decisions between versions. Not like it would matter anyway because even if I owned an Xbox or something I would still buy a game on Switch because I love the console and I can take it with me. Also price isn't a factor for me because all the Switch games I've bought are the same price across the board. I am really confused about "Switch Tax". Never seen a multi-platform game more expensive on Switch at Wal-Mart or on the eShop. So no sacrifices here!

Re: Poll: Is E3 Still Relevant To Nintendo In 2020?

Thundertron55

I love E3 and I look forward to it every year. I would hate for it to disappear. E3, to me, is an event like a minor holiday where, for about three days, I sit in front of a computer and watch the Treehouse livestreams and watch trailers from day 1's Direct over and over. Plus all the videos that my favorite content creators on YouTube make. I especially look forward to GameXplain's discussions about Nintendo's E3 announcements. I hope E3 can come back into popularity and continue on for the foreseeable future. Plus, it is the only time of the year we KNOW there will be a Direct.

Re: New Nintendo Website Shows Your 2019 Switch Gaming Stats (North America)

Thundertron55

Here are my stats:
Most played games: Smash, SMM 2, Link's Awakening, Splatoon 2, and BotW.
Hrs.: 1,331
Games: 36
July 31st, May 18th, and May 19th are the days I've most played on.
And I somehow managed to collect 593 gold points.
It wouldn't tell me that the first game I played was BotW and it says that my Nintendo Switch Journey started the 4th of September 2017 even though I remember getting it in May of 2018.

Re: Metacritic Reveals The 50 Best-Reviewed Games Of The Decade, Nintendo Takes Top Two Places

Thundertron55

Super Mario Galaxy 2 is my favorite platformer of all time (please remake the first two on Switch Nintendo)! Only passing 3D World(please port to Switch also) and A Hat In Time. So glad it's at number 1. Breath of the Wild scoring high is no surprise it's great too. A bit surprised that Skyward Sword is so high, especially with the likes of Smash Ultimate, FE Awakening, and MK8D on the list. Also glad that Xenoblade Chronicles is on there too. Looking forward to it's 2020 remaster. Also DQXIS, hoping to play that soon. Bit surprised that there's no Pokemon in the list. I thought those games reviewed well. Also surprised A Link Between Worlds isn't on here, that game was the best 2D Zelda I've ever played.

Re: Nintendo Wants To Sell Switch "For As Long As Possible", Has "No Plans" To Cut Pricing

Thundertron55

I really hope that Nintendo keeps the Switch family around for a while. I love gaming but I don't particularly like the every few years buy a new console thing. They're EXPENSIVE! I had to miss out last gen w/the Wii U and by the time I got enough money the Switch was announced. I hope that it stays for a little closer to the 7 year life span and not the 5 year one. Plus I love the Switch and would never want to see it phased out.

Re: Soapbox: Attacking Pokémon Creator Game Freak Isn't Cool, But Biting Back Isn't The Answer

Thundertron55

I wish that people would stop hating on what will be a good game just because they removed some Pokemon. I get that some people's favorite Pokemon will be cut but that isn't something to slam the game devs for. I know that my favorite Pokemon aren't in the game but I'm still going to get it and I'm not that upset. Everyone knew that one day not all of the pocket monsters would be in a game and that day is here. I hope people will get over that fact and just play what will be a great adventure in the world of Pokemon.

Re: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Becomes The Best-Selling Entry In The Series

Thundertron55

I'm glad Ultimate is #1! I've played all the games in the series but I only own Brawl, 3DS, and Ultimate. I hope that for future installment they just port Ultimate and add on DLC. Maybe add a different story mode to future ports but the base game needs to just be ported from here on out. I don't see how the game's mechanics can get better from here.

Re: PlayStation 4 Just Overtook Wii's Lifetime Sales

Thundertron55

I wish people would stop commenting on my comment telling me how wrong I am. I just stated an opinion. An opinion that doesn't need to be commented on. If Nintendo plays their cards right I do believe that the Switch can pass the PS4. Realistically it probably won't but again if Nintendo does it right they can. Honestly all they need to do is release a new Switch model every few years that is more powerful than the current Switch and Nintendo can build a full on "Nintendo Switch Family of Systems." I know that that would mean that some games won't be playable on the OG Switch and the Switch Lite but that never stopped Nintendo w/ the 3DS. They never really considered the performance of recent 3DS games on the OG 3DS. Luigi's Mansion is a good example of this. The game runs ok on the new 3/2DS but runs terrible on the OG 3/2DS. Plus their were those new 3DS exclusives like Xenoblade 3D. I could totally see Nintendo releasing a new Nintendo Switch or Switch Pro in about 2 to 4 years and that model having exclusive games that can only be played on those consoles.

Re: Talking Point: What Does The Nintendo Seal Of Quality Mean In 2019?

Thundertron55

The Official Nintendo Seal of Quality needs to make a big return. I would hate for the Switch's legacy to be tarnished by poor shovelware. The Switch is a premium device that needs premium titles not ports of mobile games or trash that was thrown together in a couple of weeks to make a big buck. The games that come on Switch need to be at a quality comparable to what the best games made this generation. New game developers who are looking to put games on Switch should look to games like Celeste; an indie game that made its way to become a nominee for Game of the Year. The Switch needs more games like that. Amazing games that should be passed with the Official Seal of Quality. Nintendo should also be more strict with what games they give the Seal, and they shouldn't just check to see if the game works, but it should see if the game is worthy enough to be on their fantastic console.

Re: Talking Point: Come In Nintendo 3DS, Your Time Is Up

Thundertron55

1. According to the reveal for the Switch it is a home gaming console with the portability of a handheld. "Introducing Nintendo Switch! In addition to providing single and multiplayer thrills at home, the Nintendo Switch system also enables gamers to play the same title wherever, whenever and with whomever they choose. The mobility of a handheld is now added to the power of a home gaming system to enable unprecedented new video game play styles."
2. I did not say the 3DS shouldn't die. I said it needs a proper successor.
3. Did the Wii U go down in price? If not, why should the Switch.
4. TV mode allows the opportunity to have a BETTER internet connection and more controllers. Without the dock how would all the 3rd party wired controllers work? How could you have 8-player Smash? How would you have couch co-op in general? If a Switch mini were to be released, it would probably not have Joy-Cons getting rid of multiplayer.
5. I didn't say it was 100% for serious gamers but that is the main audience. Also, everyone means that anyone can play the console which is true but not everyone can play the content Nintendo is putting out. The 3DS and other handheld Nintendo consoles have very easy and pick up and play games while the consoles have more time dedicating games. The Switch is not the Wii or the Wii U, it is a console that targets older people and this is even shown in the trailers where most of the people playing are in their twenties or older. The commercials for the 3DS, however, feature younger kids like 5th graders and pre-teens.
6. Please don't reply. I'm tired of having to write these explanations. Have a good day and may the Light illuminate your path.

Re: Talking Point: Come In Nintendo 3DS, Your Time Is Up

Thundertron55

@grupvilla If Nintendo doesn't have a cheaper alternative to the Switch that appeals to more casual gamers and younger gamers then the company will lose players and customers. Also, the Switch is still designed to be a home console first and handheld second. Plus, what about the people who don't have a TV? They can't get everything out of the Switch without one. And TV mode isn't just image quality, It's power, more accessories/controllers, better internet connection, etc. Nintendo needs to have a 100% dedicated handheld game system that isn't the Switch to get in younger players and introduce them to the world of Nintendo and to provide a unique play experience that you can't get on Switch. For example, on the 3DS you can use the bottom screen to have more functionality for certain games. The Wii U even had a bottom screen for this. If the Switch wasn't a thing then there might have been more functionality for BOTW like in the 2014 Game Awards build. The Switch is a great console but it is designed for more serious gamers with a little bit of casualness thrown in. The handheld consoles provide a unique experience that you can't have on Switch and provide a better gateway into Nintendo.

Re: Talking Point: Come In Nintendo 3DS, Your Time Is Up

Thundertron55

@grupvilla By proper successor I mean a handheld ONLY console. The Switch can go anywhere but it is first and foremost a home console. A handheld only console can't connect to a TV and doesn't have the power of a current Gen console like the Switch. The 3DS needs a proper successor and NOT a handheld wannabe.
