Update: It appears that Terry is available in the game as we speak. Enjoy!
Original Article: The newest addition to the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster, Terry Bogard, will join the battle today - 6th November - it has been confirmed.
The news comes from a presentation hosted by series director Masahiro Sakurai, which aired earlier today. Alongside the fighter, players who purchase the Terry DLC will also receive a brand new stage - the King of Fighters Stadium - 50 new pieces of music from a number of franchises, and a new Spirit Board.
Terry is the fourth fighter to be released as part of the game's Fighters Pass, which has also added Joker, Hero, and Banjo-Kazooie up until this point. The fifth and final character to be included in this pass has still not been revealed, although it has already been confirmed that the mystery character will be playable by February next year.
Excited to get stuck in as Terry? Let us know if you'll be trying him out with a comment below.
HEY COME ON COME ON
No surprise here
@nessisonett ARE YOU OKAY? ARE YOU OKAY?
"Come on, how could Sakurai fill 45 minutes only with Terry?"
Can't wait to try him! Terry's always been one of my favorite fighting game characters.
It's funny how representatives like Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest suffered lack of content out of stinginess, yet SNK is just like "take as much as you want."
I will say he’s definitely more unique and fun-looking than I expected. Not necessarily a character I have a history with or can relate to, but I’m definitely excited to try him out. Who knows? Maybe this will get me into some of the SNK fighting games.
Anyone got $85US + tax they can lend me? LOL
Or $66, I don't need the whole battle pass, just Terry.
Terry should have had his SNK gals version as a pallette swap option (like Pokémon Trainer for example). That would have been really shocking
Best Smash presentation yet. Wish it was Iori, but still, Terry is gonna be my main from now on.
Download just started! Hype!
@TJWorks Yeah it's honestly crazy how stingy Square has been. For two game franchises with some of the most iconic music you would think they would be chomping at the bit to get more content in.
That could be nr 5
@Chunkboi79 The only reason I can think of is if the original composers for said games have to give permission, or if they have to pay ridiculous license fees to said composers to use their music. Don't know if this is the case.
Hey! Come on, come on!
WHERES MY BOY MINECRAFT STEVE
@thesilverbrick plenty to choose from!
I actually skipped first period just to watch it
@MrHeli I already downloaded Fatal Fury Special. Looking forward to trying it out after a bit of Smash.
That’s a good one! Last blade 1 and 2, samurai showdown 2 and gorou mark of the wolves are fantastic too!
Desperation attacks from fatal fury 2.
Combining 3 ultra moves for one final smash attack.
New air move just for smash.
Terry looking clean especially with his special moves and the way it's implemented
The cameos and stage for the KOF Stage.
50 MUSIC TRACKS!
This is why I love Smash and Sakurai! (and SNK for being mega generous for the music.)
ARE YOU OK?
No...I'm at work...sigh.
Available now? Say no more. Time to update.
@MagnaRoader "Smash is for good boys and girls"
You know, Terry seems genuinely like a better ryuken. I mean, he doesn't seem to have as many obvious downsides as the other dlc characters. Dunno how I feel about that. I mean, kinda of course he does because the new characters design philosophy is to stick close to the source material and Terry's from a fighting game, but still
I still demand Kung Fu Master's Thomas be added to Smash.
@nessisonett ROCK ON!
