@SwitchVogel Persona is Persona. Completely different beast from SMT and whenever some elements kind of cross-polinate into other SMT games from Persona such as the super archetypal character writing in Devil Survivor 2 and to a lesser extent SMT IV Apocalypse, it really sticks out like a sore thumb
SMT always excelled in its atmosphere, narrative and darker undertones and that shouldn't be sacrificed to make it more mainstream for the people coming in from Persona 5 or P4G
@CharlieGirl The last time SotN got re-released on console was the Requiem bundle with Rondo of Blood, and Konami specifically cited that Sony collaborated with them on the port so yeah it might be
Honestly this may be the biggest sign pointing towards the GTA remasters being real considering Nintendo similarly went after AM2R a year or two before Samus Returns was announced
@Strumpan HIGHLY debatable considering Wade is someone who's dealt with suicidal tendencies, insecurity, trauma for the experiments that awakened his healing factor and is constantly burdened by his mercenary past when trying to better himself as a good person, especially when faced with working with or against more clean cut mutants like the X-Men.
He's actually a way more psychologically complex character than he's given credit for because he's supposed to be the "jokey jokey 4th wall breaking quirky killing mutant" according to a lot of people who've only either played the game or watched the movies
Please make this happen. No More Heroes is literally the perfect template for a Deadpool game both in terms of writing and gameplay
Also the last time we got a Deadpool game it was absolute ass. He's one of my favorite Marvel characters and he deserves a good game adaptation worthy of how awesome his comics are
I mean if it's on his own accord and he's willingly signing the papers, is it really necessary to blame China in this situation? Dude's making his own choices here.
Great to see he's not exhausting himself and is in good spirits. He seems a lot more upfront about this kind of stuff than most game developers, especially Japanese game devs
Harada's Bar is actually a pretty good series of just casual, chill conversations between Harada and other game devs.
13 Sentinels is so good. Picked it up from the PlayStation Summer Sale and it's presented really well both as an RTS and as a sort of adventure game mixed with VN elements. Nice to see it's getting more appreciation in terms of its music
@Clarice The #FreeMelee incident had NOTHING to do with the community MeToo movement that outed individuals in competitive Smash. That had been done for months by the time the Melee drama occurred
@Clarice Nintendo doesn't give two craps. Their game makes way too much money and the competitive scene is a miniscule portion of a largely casual playerbase. They put out these kinds of statements about not siding with such behaviour because not only is it good for their PR but good for maintaining brand reputation
In no way is this comparable to them being unreasonably restrictive with passionate fans working on projects that project their love of Nintendo's franchises. If every publisher cracked down on content like this, there wouldn't be success stories like Undertale, or AM2R, or Christian Whitehead and Stealth. These are completely apples & oranges comparisons being made here.
@Clarice Yes, keep drinking that Kool Aid and pretend a very publicized minority of people already ostracized from the community are the majority
While you're at it, why don't we talk about how every Sonic fan r*ped their dementia-diagnosed mother, or how every Star Wars fan is racist and derogatory towards Asian people because they thought Rose Tico was a bad character, or how Marvel fans hate trans people because they weren't supporting the creation of "Snowflake and Safespace" in droves when the New Warriors relaunch was announced last year?
Sounds like it has a mix of some of the repetitiveness of NMH's open world with all the pluses of how NMH2 streamlined things considerably, which means it sounds great and like a definite return to form after Travis Strikes Again being so...itself
I'm down for anything from Suda. Been an NMH fan for a long time and was dying to see the series come back
Yeah I don't know about you but a 2D, side scrolling game being adapted from a 3D, first person adventure game doesn't sound like copy pasting to me. You really need to research what that actually means before making such a bold claim about plagarism lmfao
@Zeldafan79 But if it's SEGA or Capcom not only is it a great idea, but they'll poach you, endorse your game, give you a couple million bucks to create your own game and release it for a wider audience published by them
So it's really just Nintendo in this camp for no other reason than "because we're Nintendo"
Man people in this comments section are drinking the Nintendo Kool-Aid thinking Mario-senpai will give them a cookie for their opinions
You ever just realize that "fan-games" are made by...fans of a series they wanted to pay respects to?
Anyways the demo looked sick. Shame it won't be continued because I dug what I saw. Fan games for certain series are great especially since if they hit it off it leads to better things like the AM2R guy being poached by Moon Studios and getting to work on stuff like Ori, one of the best Metroidvanias I've ever played
@IronMan30 I'm pretty sure they made a ton of exclusives for Nintendo handhelds in particular before Switch like the 3DS
It's also not like a game being a timed exclusive doesn't boost chances of more people picking up said platform for a particular game. In the case of Remake I think people on Xbox/PC are probably always going to be at a disadvantage because by the time the game comes out on those platforms, the next game is already in development, and will probably be PS5 exclusive for a year or possibly more again
Not surprising at all. Even console exclusives or exclusive games to a particular platform eventually find their way to PC somehow. It's not even the first Switch game to have jumped to that platform
@Rika_Yoshitake The PC port comes out on September 2nd
Also even though "console exclusives" are technically what they're billed as for marketing purposes, these games are no longer exclusive if you can play them on another platform at all. Even Sony issued reprints of games like Days Gone and Horizon just to remove the "Only on PlayStation" thing from their packaging because they're no longer "Only on PlayStation"
Really curious as to how they even got this game to work on Switch given that game could barely hold 30 on base Xbox One and PS4 from what I've seen, since I only played the game on PC
This man's work hasn't gone unnoticed. SNES is probably my third favorite console of all time after the first two PlayStations and the design oozing a unique charm for the time is part of why, even if I prefer the color scheme of the Japanese Super Famicom
Honestly I'll take what I can get. I genuinely thought Travis had a chance as a fighter given like Bayonetta, No More Heroes is a major third party series, and a major M-rated series synonymous with Nintendo systems, and I personally think he could be toned down enough to work in compliance with the audience Smash aims for, but I'm glad to see the series is getting acknowledged regardless
@Friendly III would be a better jumping on point if you were already familiar with SMT's mechanics, like if you were coming in through the Persona series like a lot of people did when they jumped to Nocturne. For first timers I'd say IV is a better starting point on 3DS
The lighting is better but honestly they tried way too hard to make it basically look like the DS game translated to 3D and there's still a super plastic-y look to some of the environments
Honestly the first LEGO game in a long time I'm legit excited for since it seems like it's actually breaking established conventions for the types of games they make typically like making it completely open-world and getting rid of dedicated hub areas or linear progression

Re: Shin Megami Tensei V 'Nahobino' Trailer Showcases More Gameplay And Story
@Ralizah I actually think the lighter tone of Apocalypse actually benefitted characters like Navarre so I wouldn't be opposed to this

Sayonara Wild Hearts was one of the most addicting indie games I've ever played. The presentation is stunning
Re: Take-Two Files Lawsuit Against Creators Of The GTA Reverse Engineering Project
@Varkster Pretty sure it's satire. This literally has nothing to do with Nintendo whatsoever outside it being a Switch project

@Specter_of-the_OLED Well it's not like 2 is that connected to the first game and End Layer anyway so it's not a bad jumping on point or anything

@Longondo Marvel isn't just movies. Midnight Sons is a pretty big part of their comic continuity

Look I get it, Persona 5 sells. Slap it on anything, everyone eats it up
But they really chose Morgana over Jack Frost.

Genuinely surprised they're doing Midnight Sons. Love seeing people like Blade, Lilith, Wolverine and Illyana Rasputina show up.
