After months of rumours, Bandai Namco finally confirmed Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot + A New Power Awakens would be coming to the Switch this September. Since then, it's been busy powering up this release by giving Dragon Ball fans a look at Goku and friends in action on Nintendo's hybrid hardware. In the latest western trailer for the game, we get to learn more about the story.
You'll fight alongside Goku to stop the Saiyan invasion, take on the evil emperor Frieza, battle the Androids and take down Maijin Buu. It's all Switch footage as well, although there's a notice about it still being development. Anyway, here it is:
Earlier this week, Bandai Namco also announced Gogeta would be coming to Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 as DLC this fall:
"Coming straight from the "Dragon Ball Super: Broly" movie, black-haired Gogeta's Xenoverse 2 debut has been confirmed! In addition to relentlessly launching ferocious kicks in lightning-fast combos, he can also switch between his black-haired form and Super Saiyan, making for some epic battles that feel like they're right out of "Dragon Ball Super: Broly"!"

Genuinely surprised Xenoverse 2 is still getting post-launch support
ALONGSIDE FighterZ no less lol
Dude there milking it now, Black hair gogeta?
Eh..As much I love DBZ, I'd actually be happy if had a story set in the DBS universe. Or an entirely new one.
While Im happy for new fans and old fans, I'm pretty much over the nostalgia train and ready for entirely new adventures that have nothing to do with the original series.
@Vexx234 Dragon Ball FighterZ is completely original with a brand new story just for the game. Only thing is it contain characters from DB, Z, GT, and Super altogether though Story Mode really just focus on the Z and Super cast more. Even though it contain most characters from all four brands, the cast size is very balance with a roster of over 40 playable characters. It still won't beat Budokai Tenkaichi 3's massive roster of over 160 playable characters but it at least doesn't had too many versions of various characters like that one; however, if you want to play as some of the rare DBZ legends like Bojack, Turles, Saiza, Super Android 13, Guldo, Kuwi, King Slug, Evil King Piccolo, General Blue, Garlic Jr., Omega Shenron, Hirudegarn, and Tapion Tenkaichi 3 is that game.
So, I have this game on PS4 but haven't played it yet. What content would this Switch game have that the PS4 one doesn't? Do we know for sure yet?
TBH I thought Dragon Ball Z Popotato and Cucucumber were much better.
@Chocobo_Shepherd What I can gather is that it's just a port of the ps4 version, but maybe with the DLC? I don't know for sure.
Bandai Namco should have given us TEKKEN instead. They keep their gems reserved for bigger consoles and Pc. It is disheartening.
@Chocobo_Shepherd It's getting some content before the other ports, specifically playable Gotenks and Vegito outside their brief appearances in the campaign.
Kakarot's the DBZ game I always wanted when I was a kid. It's essentially a Legacy of Goku game taken to an extreme with a modern coat of paint. On its own as an RPG, it's decent enough. It checks all the boxes: large environments, exploration, crafting, skill trees, etc. Factor in how well it pays homage to the series, and you have yourself probably the greatest DB game ever made.
I really wish Bamco would retire the Xenoverse series already. Over the last however many years, I have 1,000+ hours logged, and I just can't do it anymore. Either make a sequel to refresh the IP or move on.
Also FighterZ 2 with rollback netcode is a must.
I want a new game based on dragonball super and then.
Already finished this game, for those who havent played this game, by the look of it, it looks exactly the same as all the other versions.
Seriously dont know how they pulled this of.
@The-Chosen-one you could sau that for the Doom Eternal port as well
This trailer looks solid overall, but there are some parts that look a bit off. Wish we could've seen some gameplay
are the deluxe and ultimate editions for digital only or physical version too? because i can't find a pre order with ultimate edition anywhere
