Re: Talking Point: What Are Your Pokémon GO Launch Day Memories?

Tasuki

I was working at the time and I heard about it from some co-workers who when at break where going around catching Pokémon. They were going on saying oh I caught a Pikachu outside in the parking lot and oh did you catch the Geodude in the toy section stuff like that. When I asked them what they were doing they showed me and I wont lie I was intrigued with it. Especially since at that time I didnt own a car so I walked everywhere so I was always catching things and hitting stops. It didnt take long till everyone I knew was playing the game.

I played for about a year and a half, I mainly stopped playing because I pretty much caught all the Pokémon in my area. My breaking point was when I went to New York in 2018 for a vacation and though cool I can get some new Pokémon only to discover they had the same Pokémon that I did where I live. After that I was done with the game since I felt I did everything I could. Then of course when COVID hit everyone that I knew that played stopped since well we couldnt go anywhere so that was that for me.

I thought it was an interesting game, definitely neat to see everyone playing. I honestly havent seen my town so alive with people before or even after Pokémon Go came out. I would see mobs of people everywhere. I even happened to go down a nature by a river in my town that I knew for years and never explored before, so there's that.

However just like an fad it had its time, but still happy anniversary Pokémon Go. The only mobile game that had my attention longer then a few hours.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (4th July)

Tasuki

Well, its July 4th weekend which means one thing

Jaws Retro Edition (Switch) Yep I am going to need a bigger console. This game has a soft spot in my heart as it was the second NES game I ever played. So I will be starting it this weekend after of course I start my 4th off with watching Jaws as its not the 4th untill you watch it.

Forza Horizon 6 (Series X) Doing seasonal objectives.

Re: Mini Review: Arcade Archives 2 TEKKEN (Switch 2) - A Welcome Throwback To The Iconic Original

Tasuki

@Diaclone_Dad Gon was only on the home port on PS1 he was never in the arcade version. As a result of him being in the game its very rare that they rerelease the home port of Tekken 3.

The Tekken 3 rerelease on PS4/PS5 is not technically a rerelease its part of PS+ Premium service where much like NSO a subscription gets people access to emulated PS1 games. The last time Tekken 3 was rereleased was a port of the Arcade version on Tekken 5 for the PS2.

Re: Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Remake Is Real, And It's Launching This Year

Tasuki

Honestly this game is getting as bad as Final Fantasy VII or Skyrim. Do we honestly need another remake? If you think about this game has been on every Nintendo home console since it came out.

N64 (The original)
Gamecube (The Original Ported along with the Master Quet)
Wii ( Via the Gamecube disc or VC)
Wii U ( Via the VC)
Switch (NSO)
Switch 2 (NSO)

And if you want to get technical you can get the remaster on 3DS. If anyone hasn't played this game already then they aren't going too and bringing out yet another remaster isn't going to make them. Not only that but if someone wants to play it as I pointed out there are many other ways to play it thats available. Instead of wasting time on yet another remake I wish Nintendo would take that time, effort and money to make a new Zelda or maybe port A Link Between Worlds to the Switch.

Makes no sense for yet another remake.

Re: Digital Eclipse Reveals Its Next Retro Collection, Out For Switch 1 & 2 This November

Tasuki

Digital Eclipse has become the @At Games of physical re-relases. Use to be I would get excited for the next Digial Eclipse collection now it just seens they are just throwing crap at the wall to see what sticks.

Nothing against Barbie but there are so many other collections they can do or we need. What about like people said a Tiny Toon Collection. How bout a Batman Collection in the vain of the TMNT Cowabunga Collection. Theres a dozen more I can probably come up with that would make more sense then Barbie.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (6th June)

Tasuki

Just more of the same for me this weekend.

Forza Horizon 6 (Series X) The winter season is upon us and that means a new set of seasonal challenges to do. Along with that I will probably go do some things off my Discovery Japan list so maybe I can get the last 4 barn finds I need.

Borderlands 4 (Series X) I have been neglecting this game since Forza Horizon 6 came out so hopefully this weekend I can get some things done in it. Vex is coming along nicely ane I am still having a blast with this game.

Re: EA Sports Madden NFL 27 Is On Its Way To Switch 2

Tasuki

@rjejr Well if Jaguars leave how would that effect AEW, so I cant see them leaving and Dolphins I doubt they will leave but then again 5 years ago I couldnt see the Bears leaving.

I can see the move to Indiana causing fan base to drop. Not to the same degree as Brown fans were to Art Modell when he took them to Baltimore or Colt Fans when they went to Indianapolis. Bears fans and to some extant Cubs fans it more of a Chicago thing then a football thing. I know people who arent football fans but are Bears fans just because they are from Chicago. While if they do move to Arlington Heights, they can still use the Chicago name since that is a suburb of Chicago. However, Hammond Indiana is the same distance as from Chicago as Arlington Heights just a different direction. You could have the Chicago Bears playing out of Indiana much like how Washington played out of Maryland, New York as you said playing out of New Jersey or San Francisco playing out of Santa Clara. In fact alot of NFL teams dont play in the city they are named after. I mean I dont see them changing their name to The Chicago Bears of Hammond Indiana like the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim or Indiana Bears.

Still if the city itself want to get the income from a pro football team then I can see them trying to get another team maybe even doing something like the what happened with the Browns and Ravens where they new Chicago team gets the name and records of the Indiana team and then the Indiana team has to change its name but if that were to happen I am sure we would have heard something. They could do like the Hornets of the NBA team did as well. Then again we could just end up with two Chicago teams like they did when the Cardinals called Chicago home. Its is an interesting turn of events.

Re: EA Sports Madden NFL 27 Is On Its Way To Switch 2

Tasuki

@rjejr I know they aint staying in Chicago they city voted down the purposal for a new Stadium there so its either Arlington Heights (which is still in Illinois) or Indiana. I just dont know its sounds odd Indiana Bears??? A fact is that the Bears arent original from Chicago they started playing in Decatur Illinois first and werent even called the Bears. The owner at the time when moved to Chicago changed the name to Bears in honor of the Cubs baseball team. Also oddly enough this wont be the first football team Chicago loses, the Arizona Cardinals were original Chicago Cardinals and then moved to St. Louis then Arizona.

And you right where I live there is a huge Raider fan bases and I remember alot of them flipping out when they moved to Vegas. I had co-worker sware that he was done with the Raiders cause they turned their back on California. Turns out in a shocking turn of events he still is a fan of them to this day.

Now what will be interesting if they move to Indiana will Chicago at some point get another NFL team.....

Re: EA Sports Madden NFL 27 Is On Its Way To Switch 2

Tasuki

Why Caleb Williams?? That makes absolutely no sense he hasn't done anything the last two years in Chicago except blow our chance at getting into the Super Bowl. He must have payed EA alot of money for them to pick him out of all the other better quarterbacks.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (23rd May)

Tasuki

A couple open world games for me this weekend.

Forza Horizon 6 (Series X) Just got my first wristband. Mostly been exploring the beautiful countryside of Japan. So much to do and I am loving it. So far found a few barn cars and a couple treasure cars while exploring.

Borderlands 4 (Series X) Really enjoy exploring the world of Kairos. Right now I am doing side missions to get my backpack upgraded. I have Vex right now at level 15.

Re: Anniversary: Super Mario First Went 'New' 20 Years Ago On The DS

Tasuki

@WaveBoy Yeah after the Wii/DS era video games was alot less being innovative and more let's pump out the next sequel thats exactly like the last game with a few minor tweets.

I miss when game companies would be so innovative. There is no way in this day and age that we would get a game like Super Mario Bros 2 or Castlevania II or Zelda II. Companies are just to scared nowadays.

Re: Anniversary: Super Mario First Went 'New' 20 Years Ago On The DS

Tasuki

@WaveBoy Yeah I bet. As much as I enjoyed Mario 64 and then Sunshine during that time I always wanted a new 2D Mario. So I bet it just felt awesome to have a new one with all the new stuff like the mega mushroom and new abilities. I dont know why I didnt get it untill years later, I had a DS at the time but for some reason I didnt play it till I got a used copy at a garage sale about 10 years ago. As I said earlier it felt alot better then its Wii counter part which I played before hand. Ah well I guess better late then never. You can tell that that game came out when Nintendo was firing on all cylinders and were really putting there time into making a game a magical experience rather the churning out another same old game like now and shortly after the Wii/DS era.

Re: Anniversary: Super Mario First Went 'New' 20 Years Ago On The DS

Tasuki

I played it years later in fact my first New game was New Super Bros Wii. However when I went back and played New Super Mario Bros I enjoyed it alot more then Wii. I dont what it was maybe the level design was just better on the DS outing. Even compared to newer ones like NSMB2 or NSMBU the first one just felt better. I wasnt there day one so I bet the DS one just felt magical to return to a 2D Mario game after years of 3D Mario. @Waveboy were you lucky enough to experience New Super Mario Bros day one?
