Following the surprise launch of The Lord of the Rings: War in the North - Legacy Edition on Switch and Switch 2 (with an EU release coming on the 18th), Aspyr has outright stated that more is on the way.
Of course, we don't know exactly which games the publisher plans to revive or when they might be released, but here's what it said in the PR release for War in the North (thanks, Push Square):
"Fans can look forward to even more classic releases by Aspyr from the beloved franchise in the future!"

Okay, so yeah, that's a pretty definitive statement, right?
So what are we hoping for? If we look at our ranking of the best LotR games on Nintendo systems, the movie adaptations of Return of the King and The Two Towers ranked number one and two respectively, so they're undoubtedly at the top of our wishlist.
We'd love to see The Third Age too, and maybe even that weird Hobbit entry for the GameCube from back in 2003. That was a wild one.
Truthfully, none of these games are absolute must-play all-timers, but they definitely have their fans, and to see them make a grand return would be a true joy.
