@Sonicka Vicarious Visions was absorbed into Blizzard to work on Diablo which at the time they were working on 3+4 and from what I remember were nearly done with it. That's when Bobby Kotick decided they should be working on Diablo instead and 3+4 was cancelled.

@Sonicka Your thinking of Neversoft. They were merged into Infinity Ward a few years ago.

I was hoping that's why they removed it.

Avowed (Series X) Started this game a few days ago and I am loving it. I am not far into it been most just exploring the world. I Just got to Paradis and currently doing a dual welding axe and sword build.

The Sims 2 (PC) Still messing around with this game. It's mainly my chill game when I only have a bit of time to play a game.

World of Warcraft Classic Anniversary (PC) Still exploring the lands of Azeroth. I just arrived in Stonetalon Mountains with my Tauren Shaman.

@anoyonmus SNES had a platformer, run and gun game for the SNES but it had clunky controls poor hit detection and overall just a bad game, but it was done by LJN.

This is what we should have got during the SNES days instead of that crappy T2 game.

@NintendoByNature If you have never played Suikoden 1 or 2 I highly recommend them. They were a couple of the Playstation's best RPGs.

@LikelySatan Yeah Iron Galaxy is doing it due to VV being absorbed into Blizzard and working on Diablo now. Iron Galaxy took over Killer Insinct when Double Helix was bought by Amazon, they did the Switch ports of Skyrim the PS4/Xbox One port of Borderlands 2 and Pre-Sequel and Metroid Prime Remaster. I think if anyone can pull it off like VV it's Iron Galaxy.

Kinda disappointed that its not a remaster of 3 and 4. At least I got my OG Xbox with a copy of THPS 3.

@PandaHigh Right now I have a level.26 Tauren Shaman which is my main and then I have a level 14 Orc Warlock which I play when my son is on. There's just something I find much more relaxing with WoW Classic then I do with retail.

Avowed (Series X) After watching my son play this the past few days, I can't wait no more so I will be starting it this weekend.

So two thoughts on this. It's either March 4th 2025 or it's Tony Hawk's 3+4 in 2025.

@Olliemar28 THPS3 was the best one. That's the main reason I still have an OG Xbox hooked up.

@Zeebor15 Actually, it was Neversoft that did the THPS series and they got folded into Infinity Ward.

Good maybe now they will have better quality controllers.

World of Warcraft Classic (PC) Continuing the grind on my Tauren Shaman. I just hit level 25 and I am starting to feel pretty powerful lol.

The Sims (PC) Messing around mainly still trying to do a no cheat run but I am starting to get tempted to do the money code.

Indian Jones and the Great Circle (Series X) Working on Siam which I find somewhat annoying but it's mainly because the boat travel. Storywise it's still great. Just navigate this damn boat is annoying.

Madden 25 (Series X) Well now that football season is over I need something to tide me over till the UFL starts and with this being on Gamepass....

I might also play some Diablo this weekend as I have the itch too just trying to figure out which one.

The Sims (PC) I forgot how addicting this game can be. I am trying to do a playthrough without cheats.

World of Warcraft Classic (PC) Continuing my journey across Azeroth. Currently in Ashenvale. Level 23 Tauren Shaman.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (Series X) Finally finished with Giza and now I am in Siam. The story is really picking up now and I am enjoying it alot.

Kinda surprised the Borderlands games weren't mentioned here. They are some of the best co-op RPG experiences I had, those and Diablo 3.

@CriticalHit I really enjoyed Force Unleashed it really sucks that Disney doesn't count it as canon. I remember playing it on the Wii and it was one of the few games that I enjoyed using motion controls.

@Zuljaras After playing Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, I am really hoping that they make another Wolfenstein game using what they learned from Indy.

The Sims (PC) Been wanting to play this game again for a long time. Imagine how excited I was to hear that they were re releasing it. So of course I bought it.

I mean it's not entirely true the Switch got My Sims and few months ago.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (Series X) Just about done with Giza. I just have a few ancient relics to collect then I just need to finish up the main quest line to proceed. Still really enjoying this game.

I mostly played the SNES version of Fatal Fury Special but 2 was solid as well. I loved Super Ninja Boy it was a quirky RPG and alot of fun with another player.

Day one for. The River City series is one of my favorite series.

Well, can't preorder vaporware. Besides the cancelation is probably due to the game moving over to the Switch 2.

@WaveBoy Yeah the dpad was horrible on the 360 it was like they tried to combine the NES and Genesis dpad but ended up with a bastardized version. I was so glad when MS redesigned the dpad for the Xbox One and later Series X.

Yeah the Arcade ports where great on the 360 between that and Nintendo Wiis VC I was in retro gaming heaven. Alot of my time on the Wiis VC was spent on Turbo-grafx and Neo Geo games cause those were two systems I was always curious about but never played. Mind you there were a few NES and Genesis games I did play but overall it was Neo Geo and Turbo-Grafx.

@WaveBoy. Yeah the Xbox 360 and PS3 games lost that pick up and play style in favor of the boring cinematic feeling. To be honest most of the games I played on Xbox 360 were the arcade ports. Heck untill the Cowabunga Collection it was the only release of the TMNT Arcade game not to mention The Simpsons Arcade and X-Men. Those game right there are the main reason I hang on to my 360.

I will say that Xbox 360 and PS3 were huge jumps in the online console gaming, yeah Dreamcast had the whole online thing and so did PS2 but not to many games took advantage of that then. My young adult mind was blown when I first played Halo online not to mention Call of Duty with my friends in others cities. Say what you will about Call of Duty especially current CoD but back then when you first fired up World at War and you and your buddies were taking on others across the world it was just amazing. Now these kids take online for granted but back then.

Even the Wii's online amazed me downloading all those great NES and other VC games my inner child was in heaven. And if it wasn't for Nintendo Wiis Virtual Console I wouldn't have found this site. It was because I was looking for when Nintendo released new Virtual Console games that when I googled that Nintendolife popped up in the search and here I am 14 years later.

But yeah after that I don't feel a huge leap in gaming anymore. I mean about the biggest leap currently is VR but right now it just feels so half baked. It still feels in it's infancy to me like most of the games are just tech demos. That and maybe being able to play a triple A game anywhere.

The Switch I will admit is a huge advance in handheld gaming. The fact that you can play a port of a game like Skyrim blew my mind when I first saw it. I mean if you told my younger self that one day we would play a regular Mario release on a handheld and it was a watered down Pea soup port I wouldn't believe you. Lol. But then again Nintendo is always thinking of what to being new to gaming.

@WaveBoy Most definitely. The thing is video games back in the 80s up till 2000s had huge jumps between generations. The jump from Atari to NES and then the jump from 8 bit to 16 bit and then 3D was mind blowing. Currently doesn't have a that big of a jump anymore. Compare a PS4 to PS5 especially late gen PS4 games and there's not that big of a difference. Yeah maybe a little polish here and there but nothing like going from 8 bit to 16 bit. It was truly amazing the leaps they made back then.

Title is a bit misleading, it would be a sequel not a spiritual successor to Minecraft. Since he created Minecraft.

@WaveBoy It's more like that the younger crowd just doesn't known what you are talking about to give you a reply lol. I mean to be honest they don't know what it was like to live when the Console wars were up and kicking. Sure you have Microsoft vs Sony now but nothing like Nintendo vs Sega in the 90s. Or what it's like to chill out every Saturday morning with a big bowl of cereal in front of the tv watching stuff that was just one huge advertisement for the latest toy.

They probably look at the NES like we do Atari or Intellvision lol.

@WaveBoy That the main reason I really don't post or comment on things much anymore here. I just can't really relate to anyone here anymore. To be honest Midway through the PS2 Era is where I fell out of gaming for awhile till the Wii era so alot of the things these young ones talk about I have no idea about.

I get it, the way we look back fondly at NES, SNES, Genesis they look that way at PS2, GameCube and the original Xbox. It's sad to think that there are kids on this site who weren't around when Sega was a console manufacturer. I still can't get over discussion of GameCube and Wii games in the retro section lol. I realize that these young ones now were the same age when they got their Wii as I was when I got my NES and are now visiting this site at the same age I was when I first visited this site.
So yeah talk about mind blown.

Baseball Stars 2 (Series X) I don't know why but I have been wanting to play this game lately. Haven't played it since I had my Wii.

World of Warcraft Classic Vanilla (PC) Still enjoying this game. Just got to Orgrimmar for the first time with my Tauren Shaman.

@WaveBoy I never saw the baby blue NES cartridges during the NES life cycle. I think here in the US Nintendo blocked places like Toys R Us from carrying them, I didn't see them till years later.

And yeah I remember those NES rental boxes. Funny enough a local video store called Mega Video where I lived used them. I even have a few of them myself that I bought from them when they went out of business.

Sucks these are Japan exclusive, hopefully they get a NA release.
