Re: Fooling The World With a 3D Printed NX Controller

I'm pretty sure Miyamoto, Iwata and co reiterated many times in the past that touch controls can never replace physical buttons in terms of responsiveness that's why they're not bringing their console games, save for a few exceptions maybe, to smartphones. You're a fool just like the rest if you actually believed that it's the actual NX controller.

I agree with you how awesome the Wii remote is especially on Skyward Sword, Wii Sports Club and Metroid Prime trilogy.

As for the gamepad, I love the gyro controls. In fact I can't stand any game that doesn't use gyro for aiming. One big reason why I chose the Wii U over the PS4. It's either gyro, or I'll just play with mouse/keyboard on my gaming laptop.

Re: North American Pricing Confirmed for Hyrule Warriors Legends DLC and Season Pass

Don't compare Ubisoft prices because we all know Nintendo don't slash their prices until they release the "Nintendo Selects" version. That's why if you want to buy a Nintendo game (digitally), it's better to buy at launch instead waiting for 2-3 years for a sale or permanent price drop. On the other hand, it's the reverse reason why some of us who can wait, wait for Ubisoft games a few months after launch to go on sale. Same on Steam, gamers just wait for Steam sale before they buy a game. It's a good business strategy in Nintendo's part if you ask me.

With that out of the way, let's go to pricing between 3DS and Wii U. A typical retail Wii U game is 60$ or 60€. A 3DS game is 40/45$ or Euros. I believe Hyrule U is 50€ (not sure about US) and not 60€, plus season pass (20€?). Hyrule Legends 3DS is a packaged of the Wii U game and its season pass, thus it's 40€. They can't price it more because you know, Nintendo set a pricing on their 3DS games to 40-45€ max (season pass/DLC aside).

So yeah, it's a fair price imo because they are only following their pricing structure for each platform. They're not ripping us off. BUT, I agree with you that they should reduce the cost of the Wii U version now (or soon). I'm actually waiting for a sale so I'll download the Wii U version. I can easily get the disc version for 25€ new on my local store but I prefer digital downloads on games I want to keep.

"As an American, I believe that Americans simply want what the Japanese have, but disregard what the Japanese actually think. From this feedback, my understand would be that if given the choice, the Japanese would accept the changes in the first place. So, why can't the Americans? Because they believe it's censorship, and censorship is always bad? Perish the thought!"

I pulled out all my upvotes in this article and gave them to you!

"Do My Nintendo rewards change your perspective on retail downloads? "

Not a jot, I'll carry on with my usual eShop spending habits

I think it goes both ways for those who preferred physical and those who preferred digital. As someone who prefer digital downloads, I chose this option. Maybe others like me too? I'm not sure how it'll affect your conclusion when you write the follow up editorial/article on this one.

Physical, digital, they're the same to me. You just have to choose if you want them all in one physical hard drive or multiple discs. I prefer digital as I can redownload them. And when servers go down? I'll have a different console by then and mostly those old games are already out dated I'll be buying their remakes/remasters.

If your Wii U breaks down, your physical discs will be useless if you can't buy another Wii U in 10 years. At least with digital, there's a chance you can redownload through backwards compatible NX? I hope!

@Dezzy
The developers decided base on the EARLY feedback. It's the developers' CALL to ignore it or to make changes out if it. The way I read your response is they should poll the Western fans on a game that has yet to be released? How would they do it? How could they reach all the potential customers' feedback? No way I'd want the vocal minority in the internet decide for the devs.
