@Franz Pre order cancelled. I require 4,000+ hours of a paused gaming capable of withstanding burn in before I will even entertain giving my money to a company. Nintendo can shove that seal of worthlessness once and for all.
Picking this up tomorrow and can't wait but let's also talk about that killer Kirby demo. Holy crap does that game feel like a long lost Nintendo 64 game which is a welcome feeling.
@CharlieGirl yes it's possible notice how I mentioned that the other reason it's not in is because Capcom doesn't care about gamers? All the games you listed are made by caring developers who actually make games well.
Given how hard it is to work within Nintendo's ancient network my point still stands that lazy developers like Capcom won't go that extra mile.
Eric has done more than enough for his community and this game.
He on his own built a game that has been better than any AAA effort in the farming sim genre has over the last 10+ years.
He should be incredibly proud of his work and he deserves the chance to move on to something new as I have no doubt his next game will be just as fun and loved.
@Musharna I'm confused. It's not worth the asking price but you have already purchased it and think it's fun but are not sure if you'll be back despite it being fun?
Enjoyed both Yooka Laylee games but if this is their next project what a mistake. They need to prove the can make something else and make more than one franchise.
@Astral-Grain toxic berries aren't sold in stores so stop saying stupid stuff.
Your logic also doesn't make sense about all the stuff I listed having user reviews because guess what everything I listed if fully broken or faulty would be eligible for a full no questions asked refund if in that state.
That's all I'm saying is all games regardless of where it is purchased should be eligible for a full refund within 48 hours.
Digital, physical doesn't matter.
You'd see a big change in Devs efforts if 70% of their sales got refunded within that timeframe from crappy work practices.
Making games is for sure hard.
Playing them to confirm they work properly before you take people's money isn't hard.
To be honest every single person in gaming when this stuff happens should walk out. Journalists, game devs, even CEO's of other companies in support to send a message that change is coming. Get these pervs and predators out and start fresh with a safe culture.
@Astral-Grain I'm sorry but I disagree with your stance about this. Saying I shouldn't buy the product without checking reviews is just another get out of jail free card for how lazy developers have become.
Here are some examples of other businesses who sell products and media
Imagine going to a movie where the audio didn't work or scenes were put in the wrong order
Buying an album where the tracks slipped
Buying a magazine where some pages were blank or poor with image quality.
People but all of those things with the assumption that the product will have some level of quality put into them.
Then we get to gaming and for some reason bugs that were obvious after ten minutes of starting the game are fully overlooked and ignored.
So why again do games get a free pass for this absolutely insane laziness and cost cutting?
Don't give me the BS that making games is hard either. So are the jobs movie makers have and magazine writers and music producers.
We have just hit a point where there's no punishment for these lazy devs.
I will gladly stop referring to developers as lazy the second a majority of the following stops
Games launch with obvious bugs playing the game for ten minutes would present to a tester
Games stop launching missing content Full refunds across all buying formats are available for all worldwide within 24 hours of purchase so broken games can be refunded
Games aren't launched that are unplayable until a patch is released "typically weeks or months later"
Content that was promised was not available at launch but hidden from gamers that it would not be there
Cure all that and I'm all in on never calling a dev lazy or shady again.
As a consumer I'll until then call them whatever the hell I want if I don't get what I paid for.
So they keep talking about how the game has 5 boards from the Nintendo 64 games but is it just 5 boards total or 5 from the N64 ones and others from the Gamecube ones also?
I'm getting it either way as the 5 boards from the N64 game alone are worth it vs the trash boards Super Mario Party had where there's literally no challenge to circling.
@Clyde_Radcliffe actually every single one of those games is hindered by the Switches limitations. Getting into the same game in Splatoon and Mario Kart is a massive chore and having voice chat requires a third party device entirely.
I'll be honest what I've seen so far about this games is disappointing.
The original Nintendo 64 Mario Golf and Gamecube, 3DS versions were all fantastic as they had Mushroom Kingdom inspired courses but they were lame arcade like ones with enemy hazards etc.
I also feel it won't be as fun for those who just enjoy a good round of golf but with Mario characters as Mario Golf 64 was one of my favorite golf games period as it kept the Mario charm but also added a nice golf challenge.
I hope that I'm wrong but from the courses I've seen so far I'm very worried this will be a misstep.
@tanaka2687 Could be a Metal Gear Solid announcement if we are lucky. It is quite literally the only thing they have going for them anymore is the prospects of a quality made outsourced remake.
@MediocreFarmer95 ah that's right. I ready about it recently and forgot. Yeah likely a late 2021 launch from what I can tell on Steam. Likely next year for Switch.
Also can someone tell me which game is the game at the top left of the photos that has 4 games in it? Cows are on the left pumpkins on he right if that helps.
I don't think well done ones would ever get boring if they all add their own strengths.
For me Stardew Valley is the absolute best game for multiple reasons but games like Back to Nature and HM 64 will always hold a special place in my heart as they were the pinnacle.
I'd love an absolutely loaded with features HM Back to Nature remake one day using that art style with Stardew Valley level exploring, crafting and combat.
I had high hopes for the Story of Seasons franchise after Story of Seasons Friends of Mineral town brought back the amazing Harvest Moon 64/Back to Nature style only to see them screw up yet again.
How both Natsume and these guys can continue to let a dude who literally makes a better game on his own kick their ass is mind boggling.
Imagine being a company that owns an IP as strong as this one and doing virtually nothing with it for over 15 years. Why did Microsoft even buy Rare? Sea of Thieves has it's pros but you can't tell me a studio as large as Rare has nothing else to show the last several years.
@Yas knowing Nintendo a Switch Pro will still be barely as powerful as last gen consoles were. I wish just once Nintendo would make the absolute biggest monster in terms of powerful consoles between themselves, Sony and Microsoft.
They have the money to develop one and hire whoever they want to design it.
FUUUUUUU Nintendo Life lol. I honestly at first glance thought that was a picture of Rayman and that we were getting a Rayman 2 Great Escape remake. DAMNIT!
@KnightsTemplar it's fine on a basic level. Zero party chat support, most games require a cell phone to even use chat, friend codes literally still being a thing.....no way to PM someone on the console lol. It's bad
With Nintendo's absolutely joke online services this game can stay delayed.
I can only imagine how horribly it will run yet alone lag and chug while using the awful Nintendo online service.
Love Nintendo but use some of that money for once to invest in something that is cutting edge.
The come out with all of these cool ideas like the Switch, Mario Kart Live, Labo, HD Rumble etc but can't do something Xbox and PS3 did like 20 years ago.
@KillerBOB weird I thankfully haven't had any crashes yet. I think I made it to the level where you are in the mines maybe one after that with zero crashes or noticeable slowdown.
First game was amazing. I'm very worried based on this video thought that the AI will be awful. They appear to react to almost nothing in that trailer.
Amazing thing is that art style still looks amazing. I wish more studios would go with that style in HD with quality of life upgrades from 2020. I'd love a GoldenEye/Perfect Dark engine FPS to come out.
Damn, the fact Mario 64 will be non widescreen sucks. I'm better off playing it on my N64. I'm happy these are coming out for everyone who's never played them but damn.
Given its Nintendo they'll find a way to release a more "powerful" console but they'd find a way to mess a bunch of other things up.
Imagine if Nintendo actually invested some of the money they have into making the most powerful console of the big 3 vs always having the weakest with the worst online features.
They'd be unstoppable if they had both their first party lineup but best versions of the third party Devs.
Geoff is the absolute worst person to hype anything. Anything he hypes ends up being a boring joke. I cannot stand him and have no idea how he became in charge of so many things gaming related.
Everything is always "oh you guys are going to love this new world premiere" que indie game nobody wanted.

Re: 'Yooka-Laylee' Creator Playtonic Expands With Second Studio
So I'm a bit out of the loop lately with Playtonic.
Have they got anything coming out that is currently announced yet or have they been basically working in the shadows since Impossible Lair?
Just curious as that game was out a long time ago so it really makes me wonder what they are working on.
If you ask me it has to be non Yooka related to really stretch their legs.

Re: Xbox Studio Rare "Immensely Pleased" About Banjo-Kazooie's Arrival On Switch
Love how Rare is working on Everwild a game so confused by itself it has been rebooted and even now they are stuck.
Yet they could make a new Banjo, Conker or simply just jump back into making killer FPS or 3D adventure games but don't. Such a waste of talent.
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Capcom's Monster Hunter Rise PC Port

I never said it wasn't possible.
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Capcom's Monster Hunter Rise PC Port
@CharlieGirl this game has two brutal things going against it for Crossplay.
1. It's a Capcom game and they straight up don't care about gamers and haven't for a long ass time.
2. This was a Nintendo game and Nintendo is at a minimum 10 years behind everyone else for making things easy in terms of saves/online and transfers.
Even if Capcom cared I'm sure making something compatible with Switch would have been a pain in the ass.

Re: Reggie Fils-Aimé Will Be A Presenter At This Year's Game Awards
@Bizzyb me too. He actually had a personality. Doug Bowser is awful and barely does anything with the public and never shows up in Directs.
Re: The Game Awards Has A "World Premiere" It's Been Working On With A Dev For 2.5 Years, And One Guess Is Zelda
Geoff is such a clown and his show has been getting progressively worse every year with dud announcements and celebrities that nobody wants to see.
Have the people in gaming be part of these shows.

Re: The "Last Free Update" For Mario Golf: Super Rush Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
I just couldn't get into this version. Mario Golf needs to be as much like the N64 version as possible. Same with MARIO Tennis.

Yeah not good when again this site gives a low score especially to a Nintendo first party game. A 6 here is more or less a 4 elsewhere.

@NintendoJunkie Loved the soundtrack to that game.
Re: Nintendo Reveals Three More Classic Boards For Mario Party Superstars
@Hero8-Bit agreed. That game got zero support outside of the recent online modes patch they clearly released to Beta test this games online features.
They easily could have released more boards for that game.

Re: Review: Worms Rumble - Fun Traversal, But A Limited Battle Royale Spin-Off
Another game hindered by the awful power and online features of the Switch.
This game has been a blast on PS5 and I couldn't imagine downgrading graphics and infrastructure to play it.
Love my Switch but it's age is really starting to show as are the limited chat and online features.
Re: Nintendo Has Released A Day-One Update For Mario Golf: Super Rush
@Clyde_Radcliffe the entire game is a watered down overpriced joke. So many corners cut its unreal.
