One developer that showed up a few times during Nintendo's reveal of the N64 and Mega Drive NSO service was Treasure.
The famous Japanese company - known for hits such as Ikaruga on the Dreamcast and GameCube - appears to have two games on the way to Nintendo's digital retro libraries. Gunstar Heroes for the Mega Drive / Genesis and Sin & Punishment for the Nintendo 64 (it's even got a western box art now).
If these games weren't already enough, in a message on social media, Treasure has teased "future additions" from its extensive library of games, which now has fans hoping for more. How about something like Mischief Makers then? Tell us in the comments what you would like to see.

SHAKE SHAKE!
Guardian Heroes
This literally means one or more of:
Alien Soldier
Light Crusader
Mischief Maker
Bangai-O
Unless we're getting more consoles (PSX, Sega Saturn, Dreamcast, GBA, Gamecube?) that Treasure knows we're getting but we don't. I guess it also could mean we'd get an Arcade Archives release of Radiant Silvergun, or else a separate purchase republishing of Wario World?
I remember renting Mischief Makers as a kid and not knowing how to get past the first level. Without the internet, my sister and I couldn't figure it out, and we ended up returning it before we got anywhere. For some reason, we had rented it again, but someone's save file was still on there, so we were able to figure out how to play based on the other levels. The thing I remember most is that you saw more of the ending based on something you collected.
I'd be excited to play it again and see how much I actually remember.
The more Treasure games on Switch, the better. Let's get some Radiant Silvergun and Guardian Heroes, too!
Dynamite Headdy is one of my favorite Genesis games, and it would be such a cool addition to NSO! Never got the chance to play Mischief Makers so I'd like to see that one as well.
Mischief Makers would make me strongly consider upgrading. I just wish it had extras like save states and rewind but oh well.
@NintendoJunkie Loved the soundtrack to that game.
Honestly Mischief Makers & Mystical Ninja starring Goemon are the only two N64 games I’m wanting to revisit. So this great news for me.
I never did play Mischief Makers back in the day (even though I was very mystified by the U.S. commercial for it!), and it's been on my "I'll play it one day" list for years. Having it on the NSO would be the kick in the butt I need.
I would love to play Mischief Makers again. I rented it once as a kid and that has always been my shame that I really couldn't figure the game out. I liked the way it looked though. Personally, I want to see Chameleon Twist but that's not Treasure.
Mischief Makers, Ikaruga, Sin & Punishment 1 and 2 are the only games om them that can make me care about (and even them I don't care that much).
The others may rest in peace (t least from the list at Wikipedia). I thought they made some good JRPGs back at SNES era, but it seems I was wrong)
I would love to make that mischief
Mischief Makers is legit one of my favorite N64 games, so I'd be thrilled to see it back. It's never been re-released AFAIK either.
I've never been able to play Mischief Makers.... its been on my to-play list for ages.
Now its the time.... do it Treasure and Nintendo!
I am so praying to god that Mischief Makers is coming back on here that would be so awesome since it hasn't been rereleased at all
I would really like to see them make a new game if anything. I love Treasure a lot, so it hurts to not see them making anything new.
Yes, Mischief Makers, /please/! This game does not deserve to be forgotten! ;_;
Mischief Makers was truly a gem on the N64. From the music, environments and cast, it really had a magical feel to it that just can’t be described by words alone and as someone that beat MM, I’d love for a chance to play it again.
Mischief Makers, I always saw this game at the rental stores back in the day but never tried it out. I wouldn’t mind trying it out if it hits the Switch.
I’m all for Mischief Makers, but I’d like to jump a console generation and ask for Wario World.
I would love a mischief makers port or remake. I absolutely love that game. So many fond memory's.. shake shake
Mischief Makers would be awesome, I've yet to try it.
Also, bring on Alien Soldier. It's the ultimate 16-bit action game. It's awesome in pretty much every way possible.
Please don't tease me with a Mischief Makers article, I just about lost it when I saw it.
@Solomon_Rambling Same. I could never work out how to play the game. I believe I swapped it for something
I've been asking for Mischief Makers since N64 NSO was announced. I'm hoping I'll get to play it finally. Please Treasure...
Radiant silvergun, PLEASE!!!
What a total waste. Can we get a treasure compilation of literally anything else than being relegated to just being crummy rentals. Michief Makers is way too good a game to be wasted on something like that.
None of this would be a problem if there was at least some kind of option to purchase them instead.
PLEASE Re-release Silhouette Mirage (Sega Saturn/PSX).
That game is so awesome and funny, so many memories...
I've never played Mischief Makers, would love to try it.
Can we ask nicely for permission to see McDonald’s treasure land adventure on the MD. it’s a great platform game even without the license.
And if we are talking rereleases from any console, can we have PS2 Gradius V, SS Silhouette Mirage and the XB port of Guardian Heroes.
Dynamite Headdy and Alien Soldier on Megadrive and Mischief Makers on N64 (which Nintendo published in the West) would be my guess. I wonder if there’s any way to either license McDonald’s Land or put out a de licensed version.
Shake shake!
Spent more time than Mischief Makers probably deserved...
and I'll do it again!
Mischief makers was a fun game. Played it a lot
Mischief Makers is great, but what i really want is the N64 version of Bangai-O.
jeeeesuz, just release every major game you have, Treasure, and it would sell decent enough to fund your next projects.
people are starving for more presence of Treasure in this barren industry.
I’m just happy to see actual comms from actual Treasure, even if their Twitter account is pretty scarce.
Always loved mischief makers! Shake Shake Shake!
radiant silvergun has been teased in the past. hoping for it.
MM would be a great start. Add Mystical Ninja, Jet Force Gemini, Body Harvest and Wetrix to the mix and I would probably sell a kidney for the upgraded NSO pack.
Assuming we only get N64 and Genesis titles, we can look forward to:
N64:
Bangai-O
Mischief Makers
Genesis:
Alien Soldier
Dynamite Headdy
Light Crusader
Bangai-o all the way
Man, I wish they'd make some new games.
Hopefully we get some Saturn games someday and maybe some Guardian Heroes and Radiant Silvergun on the service soon.
All great games, but zero mystery.
@Specter_of-the_OLED The HD remakes of RSG and GH should of been on the switch years ago. Treasure, or as they are today under a licence very rarely release any of their back catalogues.
I love Mischief Makers (Treasure's masterpiece and one of the best games ever), but I think we'll just get their Mega Drive games again (the one's we had on Wii VC: Alien Soldier, Dynamite Headdy, and Light Crusader). But I don't complain. Those are damn good games as well and I'm happy for all of you that missed them last time.
But the one N64 game by Treasure I really want is Bakuretsu Muteki Bangai-O. I was only able to play it for a couple hours when back in 2000 I met someone who had lots of Japanese N64 imports. The game felt very special but I spent the rest of the time with Sin and Punishment. Back then it looked amazing! And I had only 2 days to try all his Japanese N64 games. If I had known that I get Sin and Punishment on Wii VC 10 years later I would have invested more time into Bangai-O.
Well obviously yes please.
Actually despite my name I never completed The game on N64 as it came at a point when I was finishing uni and barely playing video games (think I picked it up second hand for cheap) but what I did play of it clearly left an impression! “Shake shake!”
I like to see McDonald’s treasure island adventure come to the switch as I never got the chance to play it
