Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 6th)

Solaine

I will probably spend all my weekend to finally defeat that Octopath Traveller final boss... God, the fight is so epic, but going through that one hour boss rush beforehand makes me throw my Switch.

@Beatrice Wow, i never expected an Umineko lover on here. I guess without my love for all those Switch games i couldn't have ever seen that

@Ralizah I think Haven definitely leans towards a good Singleplayer experience rather than a good Coop game.
The Reason for that is actually just that there is not too much gameplay to begin with. There is exploration but only one of you can control the player(which you can switch, but there is no real point except dialogue). There is the VN aspect where you choose dialogue options(both of you can choose every option). Lastly there is combat which is really simple and the only time Coop is really used since each one of you chooses an attack option.(Again, this is really simple, there are about 4 commands).

Gameplaywise it is really no Coop game, i played it mostly on my own and it is basically a sweet Visual Novel with some exploration and combat. Playing Singleplayer is definitely better than the multiplayer(gameplaywise at least).
Hope that helps a little

Re: Feature: Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity Gives Our Beloved Champions A Second Chance

I played some other warrior games and always thought them to be quite fun for a while but not really a lot more than that. Hyrule warriors was my favorite and i do expect like 20 hours of entertainment or so before i get bored of the gameplay... Nonetheless i am really curious if they actually stay true for the story which SPOILER

pretty much ended with everybody dying and that sounds a bit too hardcore for Nintendo. Looking back at my botw playthrough it didn't really seem like there was much of a fight anyways... more of a one sided slaughter by ganon so is this really gonna be canon?

Re: Mini Review: MO:Astray - A Grim And Gory Game Which Deserves A Look

Solaine

looks interesting, not much backtracking and possibly celeste like difficulty with interesting ideas.
@Kalmaro In the end i didn't even finish Carrion yet. It seemed fun at the beginning but well it is basically just backtracking and occassionally some fighting which quickly made the game quite boring to me, a shame cause the concept seemed really fun

@Mach_Rider I actually am not so sure about boring level design. The visuals are pretty good, the different regions are very unique in their presentation, difficulty and creativity(mushroom jump region, dark cave region, jungle region and so on), especially with the enemies which are pretty much the core point of the game as well as exploring. maybe you mean the amount of backtracking that is boring? but that is the same with most metroidvanias. Not judging, cause its your opinion, but i am still curious in what exactly you found to be boring although i guess some of the bosses can get very unfair and rage inducing. I just really enjoyed that game personally

Still stuck on my phoenix wright playthrough, alongside enter and exit the gungeon which i will probably playthrough with a friend.
Just finished the hotline miami collection and i must say that i have really fallen in love with that bloodbath, although i didn't get much of the story until i read a bit more about it

Re: Rumour: Is The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Taking To The Skies On Nintendo Switch?

Solaine

awwe when going through the comments i feel like a lot of the people didn't really enjoy this game too much which is a shame because it does have its own really fun moments. It certainly might not be the best Zelda made, but it does have some interesting dungeons and if the motion controls would be reworked i think the gameplay wouldnt be much of an issue as well. The Artstyle and Story are quite solid as well in my opinion(especially your interaction with Zelda) and don't forget the awesome music.
Of course there are some Issues like the rather boring flying around or revisiting the same or very similar areas sometime as well as Fi maybe annoying you about low batteries...( Oh and lets not forget a certain boss)
But overall its pretty solid, especially if you are going for the more classic zelda things you might have missed in botw like me(e.g. music and dungeon designs).

Re: Best Nintendo Switch Open-World Games

Solaine

I am actually a bit confused now, so xenoblade is not open world but hyper light drifter is?So open world is basically when you can access the whole world from the beginning or after the tutorial, have i got that right?

Re: Feature: Games To Play After You've Finished Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Solaine

@TheWingedAvenger Zelda is fun, absolutely and without doubt. The Combat works well and is easy to learn, my point was that Zelda is more button mashing than Xenoblade and not a button mashing game per se, the combat is just not very deep, fun yes but not too deep is all i am saying.
Ultimately, it comes down to personal opinion and i probably agree with the fun gameplay part here. However, if you want a more complicated but rewarding fighting system, i still consider xenoblade to be above Zelda which does not feature a lot of strategy usually.
