Re: Sonic And Balan Wonderworld Creator Yuji Naka Is Now Making Smartphone Games

Snow-Dust

@SwitchForce that’s not how the world works. We are the consumer, we judge the product we purchased. It’s a fair transaction through and through (actually no it’s not, Balkan being a full retail priced game is criminally overcharging people).

Imagine we’re not allowed to judge a product because we can’t make it better. I guess we can’t judge the food we buy from a restaurant even though it tastes like it expired because we don’t know how to cook, we can’t judge an Bluetooth electronic that has a 1cm distance before losing connecting because we don’t know how to make things, we can’t judge a house that is falling apart and rain leaks through the ceiling because we don’t know how to build a house. Just because we don’t know how to make a game, it doesn’t mean we can’t judge the product for what it is.

@Ogbert while I’m not sure about the intricacies of fair use, I’m pretty sure that doesn’t fall under fair use.

http://www.publiccounsel.org/tools/publications/files/0071.pdf

Reading on this regarding fair use, it doesn’t fall under news, commentary, parody, satire or for educational purposes so it already falls outside the clear-cut fair use. There is one part that talks about selling under fair use which can vary case-to-case.

Re: Nickelodeon's New Brawler Might Get Character Voiceovers In The Future

Snow-Dust

@Xiovanni being built for competitive is a good thing, it means the game is actually in a playable state and will have a solid gameplay. Or do you want another Sonic The Fighters.

And this is 2021, what fighting game isn’t built competitively unless you’re an indie studio. Even Pokémon fighting game (Pokken) is made to be competitive.

Re: Random: Reggie Says He's Got An English Version Of Mother 3, But Still Hasn't Played It

Snow-Dust

Didn’t Reggie once said to “Talk to me in a year and let's look back and see what's happened”
https://www.google.com.au/amp/s/www.gamespot.com/amp-articles/nintendo-offers-metroid-mother-3-fans-a-glimmer-of/1100-6446941/

This was in January 2017. On e3 that year we got Metroid Prime 4 announcement and also Samus Returns but we never got the Mother news he hinted about.

Now this is just a theory but could he be referring to this English version of Mother 3 back in 2017?

Re: Nintendo's Success With Switch Made Reggie's Retirement Decision "Easy"

I’m going to say it, I don’t like Doug Bowser. Maybe he’ll be a good president in the way that he’ll earn Nintendo a lot of revenue but as a face of the company, he’s doing a terrible job at it even though his surname already makes his entry pretty easy. It’s like he doesn’t put any effort into it because he thinks his surname will carry him to the heart of the consumers.

Re: Japanese Charts: Nintendo Takes Nine Of Top Ten As The Last Of Us 2 Topples Animal Crossing

@TheFullAndy @Paraka Some interesting things have come to light regarding TLOU2 reviews
https://screenrant.com/sony-questioned-outlets-review-last-of-us-2/
Overall its a link talking about Polygon giving TLOU2 a less than stellar review and was thus, contacted by Sony asking why they didnt give a perfect review. Nothing big happened but itll be interesting to see if Polygon will get any special treatment from Sony from this point on.

Yellow Flash also talks about how bad reviews of TLOU2 on youtube was strike down with DMCA.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5u_HrrjWy4

So Paraka is wrong, there is no paid review but there's something else going on. Manipulation and abusing the system in order to get good reviews for the game. That's just as bad if not worse imo. Sony is destroying people's career because they dont like their reviews.

Re: Random: Brie Larson's Boyfriend Said She Was Taking Super Mario Galaxy Too Seriously, So She Threw Him Out

Snow-Dust

Even though she’s a terrible actress imo, it’s apparent she loves Nintendo games which is cool. You don’t see too many celebrities that likes games for some reason.

The comment section is also extra spicy. There are the Larson haters and the Larson-hate haters, both side crying thinking both are more superior when they are two-peas-in-a-pod. Very spicy indeed~

@TheFullAndy “
I don't care, user reviews are worthless to me.”
Oh ok

Well if you don’t want to take the reddit chat with all the links provided to source then I can’t do too much. I gave you some things to take into perspective and you want to dismiss it.

It’s quite clear that between the two of you, you are upset about all this, I think if you ask anyone on this site who is completely indifferent and not standing on one side or the other, they can tell you’re the one who is most affected.

Well anyway, like I said, it’s late for me so take it for what you will, I hope you have a better day once you get over this issue today.

Re: Japanese Charts: Nintendo Takes Nine Of Top Ten As The Last Of Us 2 Topples Animal Crossing

@Paraka @TheFullAndy I’m indifferent to all this but here is something I found to be of interest.
https://www.google.com.au/amp/s/amp.reddit.com/r/TheLastOfUs2/comments/hcu8cg/its_official_reviewers_that_gave_tlou_2_positive/

There are a few things regarding this link though.

1. The game in question for this link is regarding GoW and not TLOU2 but one can not deny that because of his GoW review, he was officially blacklisted from TLOU2 and any future games.

2. This happened in China and so far I don’t know is there a case in any other parts of the world.

3. This is not paid review but imo it’s even worse, you’re doing scare tactics to bend people to your will when reviewers were meant to help the people/public to decide to get a game, not to try to sell a game. At this rate they should be advertisers/promoters instead of reviewers.

And now something else, FullAndy, you should take a chill pill as you are clearly affected by one man’s opinion, people can have polarising opinions but you don’t need to go full hardcore in their face just to try to win the internet for the day. Also I suggest you start looking more into independent reviewers, big review sites like IGN, Kotaku etc are notorious for being corrupted.

Re: Billy Mitchell's Donkey Kong And Pac-Man Scores Are Reinstated By Guinness World Records

Snow-Dust

I mean no offence to the Records Management Team but they arent professionals in deciphering what or how things have been cheated. Their name is as implied, records management, not cheat exposing. They shouldve left it to professionals who knew the ins and outs of the game to determine if he cheated or not.

There is also the need of evidence that exonerates him and as of this moment, there are more evidence that incriminates him that he cheated so unless I can see that evidence where the Records Management Team used to determine that he did not cheated, the emulator proof in his very own submitted video seems to be stronger in the public's eye as far as Im concerned.

Re: Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night Reaches 1 Million Sales, 2020 Development Roadmap Shared

Snow-Dust

Well for those wondering how Bloodstained perform without bias (I neither like nor dislike the game, it was just very average imo). The game mostly runs good. There are a small number of areas where frame rate can be bad where it’s noticeably slowed down such as an underground area with a lot of lifts that carry you diagonally to the top-left area. By the end of the game, sometimes there are sudden pause that I have to wait around 3-5sec in order for the game to resume time and time again, it could be the area I’m traversing but it seems to be all over the place. The only time something like this really caused me issues is at the 2nd final boss where the game it was really slow due to frame rate dips and near the end of the battle, the game will pause for probably a minute long, I thought the game froze at first so I reset the game but it happened exactly at the same moment again so I left it for a minute or 2 and then I was able to resume and then go to the next area to fight the final boss.

Overall, other than the 2nd final boss (true ending route), there is probably a total of 3-5 areas out of like 50+ that will cause frame rate dips. In all honesty, I can’t really recommend the switch version other than it’s portability when we all know that superior versions exists but if the switch is the only platform you’re willing to play the game on and don’t think the above issues will affect you, go ahead and get it.

Re: Miyamoto Reveals The Moment He Knew He Could Trust Illumination With A Super Mario Movie

Snow-Dust

I’m really afraid of Illumination working on the IP. Other than Despicable Me (the first and maybe the 2nd one), all of their films are incoherent mess that seem to not be sure of what it is trying to do.

My strong theory of why their films are still successful (I think they are but never really checked the box office) is them hiding their crappy movie behind a facade of cutesy things in order to sell it to families and their children.
