Re: People Claim To Already Have Copies Of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Skyla

I don't see why anyone would have any physical copies of the game already.

Why would Sakurai put so much work into this game, only to have it given to players early who are likely going to spoil it? I know this franchise has a long tradition of spoilers, but even this sounds far fetched.

Well, I'm glad thery're bringing this back, especially if the Codec Calls will not come back. I was actually expecting some sort of replacement for it, but this is fine as well- at least they only need to make new ones for the newcomers.

If they mention Ridley being big, I'm gonna lose it.

I know there are people who will really enjoy this game. I'm very happy for those people. As a Pokemon fan, I simply cannot bring myself to buy this came. The catching mechanic is a big turn-off for me, and they keep going to this Generation1 well over and over, and I'm sick of it.

In some facets, this game is worth the money- there are novel concepts here that would not hurt to stick around, and I hope the return of walking with Pokemon is back to stay. But other than that, I see no reason for any die-hard Pokemon fans to pick this up, certainly not at full price.

Re: Kirby Star Allies Update Introduces New Dream Friends And Adds Challenge Mode

Skyla

This update looks to be the best yet by far. Introducing three characters from Kirby games I adore, especially Magolor. Return to Dreamland was a favorite Wii game of mine. And this new mode looks like fun too, as long as it has substance. I really hope it’s not a rushed job.

I’m just glad this will release before Smash, so I’ll actually play it.

Re: Guide: Spirits in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Explained

@Yasaal I have a few theories

1. You'll unlock them as usual, by playing regular Smash games

2. You'll unlock them in World of Light when you beat them.

3. Some other way. Sakurai did say the method for unlocking characters would be more streamlined, whatever that may mean.

Re: Video: Here's How The Elite Four Stack Up In Pokémon: Let's Go

Skyla

This might be a small thing, but why does it seem like they are making a trailer for every single thing in the game? I know this happens with every Pokemon game, but at least most games have the benefit of having some Pokemon left for a secret (until they're leaked, of course.)

Edit: I understand I might be repeating the thoughts of others, so pardon my lack of originality.

Re: Masahiro Sakurai Reveals Nintendo Has Already Selected DLC Fighters For Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Skyla

Nintendo selected them? Odd, but here are my predictions-

I think one of the things we need to know is if characters who are Spirits are disqualified as being characters. We know that when trophies were around, it did not ruin characters chances of being in the game as DLC (Mewtwo and Lucas, anyone?) If the same is true with Spirits, we could possibly see characters like Dixie Kong. Assist Trophies, I'm a bit more skeptical about. It's not impossible, when we look at something like Ashley and yes, Waluigi. I don't think such additions are likely, but I've been wrong before.

Also, I don't think we'll be flooded with third party characters, like we were in Smash 4. Banjo and Kazooie? Probably. A Monster Hunter rep? Maybe. Maybe something to come completely out of left field. Who knows?

Also, I don't think it's likely we'll be seeing any Echo Fighters in these DLC packs, unless they are included as a bonus. I see no reason why they would be standalone paid characters.

Edit: On the Spirit's front, I should point out that some characters, or at the very least King K Rool, have a Spirit that is based on them. Now, maybe that does not apply, as K Rool was (likely) confirmed before Spirits was conceived, although I have no way of knowing that.

Re: Review: Nickelodeon Kart Racers - A Poor Man's Mario Kart That Squanders Its Potential

Skyla

As both a gaming and a Nickelodeon enthusiast, I am quite frankly disgusted by this game in terms of both quality and quantity.

On the one hand, here we have yet another licensed game that is unable to live up to its full potential, and another kart racing game that cannot hold a candle to the legendary Mario Kart. And this game looks like a Gamecube game, in all honesty. They must have started development from a game from that system, because was that not the system the first Nicktoons Racing game was on? And the fact they could not include something as simple as voice clips really speaks to me, in the worst possible ways.

And on the other hand, this game has little to nothing to keep one engaged for any longer than a day. The roster is terribly small, and while playing as Reptar sounds neat, there are so many other characters from other popular Nick shows that could be easily put into the game. Avatar? The Loud House? Rocko's Modern Life? Invader Zim? Ren and Stimpy? You get my point. And since the multiplayer, the big reason you play these games, faces severe performance issues, what's the point of playing this bargain bin game?

This could have been good, and I very well might have gotten it. Not ahead of Smash, but maybe as a Christmas gift to myself. But upon seeing Game Mill's logo, I decided to wait it out to see how this turned out.

And honestly, I'm glad I did.
