If you've so much as looked at the internet over the last few days, you're probably aware that the first official trailer for the Pokémon Detective Pikachu movie was released recently. On the whole, fans seem largely impressed, and Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary are now on the hunt for the most eager fans of them all.
Yes, a competition of sorts has been opened which asks fans to send in their fan-art of the film, and there are some rather wonderful prizes up for grabs. To be clear, the competition asks for a "one-of-a-kind static or animated artwork" inspired by the latest trailer and its imagery, with illustrations, digital paintings, GIFs, and "alternative poster designs" being listed as potential mediums.
Five winners will be selected in total, chosen by Warner Bros. and Legendary, with each winning piece "potentially" being featured across the film's marketing campaign - including social accounts, print materials and merchandise - as well as landing its owner $2,000. The competition is open globally (bar a few exceptions) and full terms and conditions, as well as link to enter, can be found here. You have until 7th January to get your entries in.
If you're looking for inspiration, make sure to re-watch the official trailer or check out these behind-the-scenes character models from the film.

This undertaking might scar them for life.
I am eager to see "alternate poster designs". Maybe I'll cook something up myself?
...Yeah this won't end well...
The fanart will most likely be better than the actual movie.
Well now...
I'm pretty sure @DrawnRed could get behind this one.
cracks knuckles
I’ve got nothing to lose but my time and energy, and I was gonna waste those anyways, so here we go!
if ryan is in it should at least be pg-13
They won't want me do to do fan art because I am really bad with my writing and artistic skills...........because I change my way of writing when I was young. Was left handed but I changed to right handed without realizing.....and now I just suck with writing and drawing with both. I still use my left hand and right hand for different things today. So I guess I am both right and left handed (mostly left handed for many things like sports, and eating without a utensil, and right handed for writing and drawing and eating with a fork or spoon).
@InklingLegend
You know | they had ||
to do it || to em |_
I mean... there's already loads of pokemon fanart. What exactly are they looking for? Pokemon in realistic style? There's already loads of that too.
Very creepy! They could use minecraft version instead.
I feel sorry for the poor fellows who are gonna have to shift though all the fan art, their gonna be scarred for life.
