Currently, I have a Gen 1 Switch that my family uses and a Zelda OLED for myself. I'm keeping the Zelda OLED forever, but my family doesn't really care for Switch 2 that much, so they may just buy my Gen 1 Switch from me. (For a steeply discounted price, I'm not a monster haha)
I will be in NYC at the beginning of June, so instead of getting the game this weekend, I'll wait a bit to get the game from the Nintendo Store. Can't wait!
I'll always love both Super Paper Mario and Super Mario Galaxy.
I got Super when I was 6, and remember my Dad playing the game with me the following Saturday. My Grandparents had a Wii, and every Wednesday morning I'd go to their house, eat blueberry pancakes, play some Super Mario Galaxy, and then watch The Price Is Right. Just some little things, but they make up for the nostalgia I have for those games. And they are both really good haha.
Got a Switch in October of 2020. Got a crazy amount of birthday money, and decided to take the plunge. Haven't EVER looked back haha. So many fond memories. My top game is Smash Bros Ultimate with 240 hours, followed by Metroid Dread at 31 hours, then Celeste at 25 hours.
I don't think it'll be a simple "Drop the system support" type deal. Only recently did Sony and Microsoft drop game support for the PS4 and Xbox One. Ninty will probably try out duel releases of games. I'm not sure though haha.
Cheers to the past 7 years, and here's to Nintendo not going bankrupt!
I got the game in December 2020, played it to death, and put almost 300 hours into it. (Rookie numbers, I know) Got all the challenges and Spirits as well. My infinite thanks to Sakurai and the team who made Ultimate. This will always be my favorite Smash Bros game.
My Grandparents had a Wii with Mario 3, and that was my childhood! They also had an NES with Mario 3, but I have more prevalent memories of the Wii VC release haha.
I knew I was getting the Amiibo at launch, but I saw GameStop had the Twilight Princess Amiibo, and I couldn't pass it up. XD Then I saw Target had the Wind Waker 2 Pack, so I also picked those up. sigh I spend way too much money on Amiibos. XD
I dressed up as Luigi when me and a few friends went, and after we posed under the poster in the theater, one of my friends said "YOOO!! Sirvant look behind you!" And there was another guy getting tickets dressed as Luigi, and we both smiled and pointed at each other, with huge grins on our faces. I regret not taking a picture with the guy, but it will be a memory I cherish.
My first 3DS was the New 2DS which I received from a cousin in 2021, then traded that for a Flame Red OG 3DS (and $50 haha), then bought the Zelda OG 3DS for $80 (bought in "broken condition", all it needed was a new battery and triggers), and I'm about to trade the Red 3DS to an up-and-coming collector friend of mine.
I couldn't put both down, but either "Link" or "[NAME]" For games like SS, TP, and OoT, I'd use Link, but with the Wind Waker-style games I've used my name.
I played the game a bit on Game Pass, and loved what I played, and having this game on a device I use 10x more will be very nice! I hope it gets a physical edition!
I love Amiibo. I've recently been getting into them, and have around 25, and still going strong! I hope to one day have a full set. Really happy that I'm getting to Corrin Player 2 and Marth restocks. Cheers to the future of Amiibo!
@Supermoose8645 From what I remember, the songs sounded fine enough, but yes, they were horrible to try to play, no matter what device you played the game on haha. I need to try Phantom Hourglass soon.
I think the only real time I've gotten angry at a game was Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks. It'd been annoying on my Wii U, what with the Mic being sub-par at best, and I got to the part where you had to navigate a pitch-black room and I noped out for a few months haha. And Maybe Master Quest on 3DS haha (I really hate the Water Temple)
Actually, Nintendo Selects was first introduced in 2011 with Wii games being $20 instead of $50 or $60 (or the regional equivalent), then the Wii U and 3DS games followed this same price point in the following years.
My Dad had Metroid Prime 1 & 2 when I was a kid, and I grew up getting to the same place and couldn't get past it. XD I had heard of the series growing up (and playing/beating Super on Switch online), and I finally got around to playing most of the series when Dread was announced.
My family got a Wii when I was 2 years old, and so Wii Sports, MarioKart Wii, New Super Mario Bros Wii, and Super Mario Galaxy were some of my first video games. I do remember when I was 6 though, I was gifted Super Paper Mario (Nintendo Selects version) from a family friend, and that same year, my Dad pulled out his N64, and introduced me to TLoZ OoT and the OG Smash Bros.

Re: Reminder: Zelda Switch Lite 'Hyrule Edition' Pre-Orders Are Now Live, Will You Be Getting It?
I won't pre-order the thing, and if I do get it, it'll be because I have a huge excess of money/Ninty didn't announce the Switch 2 yet haha.

Re: Limited Edition Shovel Knight Switch Joy-Con Revealed, Pre-Orders Now Live
If they were $100, I'd understand, but I can't justify Joy-Cons for $165 haha.
They look super sick though.

Re: Talking Point: What Are Your Hopes For Animal Crossing LEGO?
I'm very annoyed that Lego released Animal Crossing sets before Legend of Zelda.
But this looks cool nonetheless.
Re: Gloomy, Glothic Metroidvania 'The Last Faith' Finally Lands A Release Date
I saw this game a while ago when it was first announced, but I had forgotten the name.
This looks pretty good. I'll check it out.

Re: Feature: Which Zelda Game Has The Best Link? - Every Link Ranked From Worst To Best
I'd put OoT and Wind Waker Link above Twilight Princess Link haha.
Re: Talking Point: Which Is Your Favourite 3DS Theme?
Either the Zelda 30th Anniversary Theme or the Metroid Samus Returns Theme.
Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 4 Launches Next Week
Still no Koopa Cape from MK Wii. Starting to get nervous haha.
Re: Poll: Which Nintendo Switch Online Console Do You Play The Most?
I don't have the Expansion Pass (yet), but I've been playing a bunch of GameBoy because of Tetris. I haven't touched S/NES stuff in a bit.
Re: Talking Point: What Do You Name Link When You're Playing A Zelda Game?
I couldn't put both down, but either "Link" or "[NAME]"
For games like SS, TP, and OoT, I'd use Link, but with the Wind Waker-style games I've used my name.

Hey, let's look at the bright side. At least the guy can now play his copy of Pokemon Yellow. XD All joking aside, that's a really horrible situation.

Re: Talking Point: Which Scary Video Game Moments Gave You Nightmares As A Kid?
It was definitely the Dead Hand enemies in Ocarina of Time. I always had to have my Dad beat them for me haha.

Thanks to this feature, I discovered a game that I would've never given a shot at, and it's an awesome game! Thanks, NintendoLife!

Re: Talking Point: What Was Your First Legend Of Zelda Game?
Ocarina of Time on the N64. One of my favorite Zelda games ever. My Dad pulled out and dusted off his ol' 64 when I was 6, and the rest is history.
Re: Talking Point: How Were You Introduced To Metroid?
My Dad had Metroid Prime 1 & 2 when I was a kid, and I grew up getting to the same place and couldn't get past it. XD I had heard of the series growing up (and playing/beating Super on Switch online), and I finally got around to playing most of the series when Dread was announced.

Re: Super Rare Announces Limited Physical Version Of Aerial_Knight's Never Yield
The PAL rating/box art is what's stopping me from buying this. I'd love to buy this as a physical game, but not if it messes up my NTSC collection. XD
