Re: Switch Owners Won't Be Able To Play Minecraft Or Rocket League Against PS4 Owners, And Here's Why

Shinobi1Kenoby

@StuTwo I spent a fortune on PSN store throughout PS3 and thought it was a good format. The longer PS4 is around the more appalling I think Sony is, and the worse they are for the video game industry. Bit like Hitler, had a very good and constructive plan to build infrastructure, then power went to their heads and they turned into greedy psychopaths.

Sony is definitely not FOR the players, they are for the players MONEY.

I couldn't dissuade new gamers from Sony anymore right now than any other time.

Compared to Movies, you can pay to watch, or deem it not worth your time and don't watch it. You are free to buy any DVD player and go to any cinema. Locking you into a format carries an onus to deliver on the quality content the promised you on the shop shelf. Not ram graphics in your face and shout "THIS IS GOOD, FORGET WHAT YOU THINK!!"
PS4 is by a clear mile their worst format to date.

@ValhallaOutcast Which is what I said, it's companies making moves like this that should tell the intelligent consumer to move platform and product as they are blatantly positioning themselves to take advantage of an easily led general public.

If you Gas provider said they were looking to change your tariff contract and restrict your options in moving to another provider, would that make you think "hmm, this is a good deal" or "something doesn't feel right here, I like to know I have options"

Sony are a joke and haven't delivered anything constructive to this industry for years, they are a mass market electronics manufacturer, not a video game developer.

They're approach to games development is not a far cry away from Atari's that resulted in a total shut down of video games in the 80's, except this time around they have "GRAPHICS" to blind the general public from the garbage their platform is actually consistently churning out.

Re: Switch Owners Won't Be Able To Play Minecraft Or Rocket League Against PS4 Owners, And Here's Why

Shinobi1Kenoby

This just seems dumb from every angle, unless they fear Nintendo taking back their younger demographic?

Shut the youngers gamers away from other platforms and they have less awareness.

Example: Some kid see's their friend has a new gadget, what does that kid say????? Mum I want one of them!

More proof that Sony is a marketing machine and not a video game developer.

Re: Monster Hunter: World Confirmed for Rival Platforms, is Skipping Nintendo Switch

Shinobi1Kenoby

@MisterKorman Except that judging by breath of the wild, it is more than easily possible to produce a full and seemless open world that looks stunning.

The PS4 and Xbox are boring and I am bored of having "POWER" shouted at by the two most unoriginal platforms ever created by anyone. The Switch is the first real evolution in gaming since the PS3 and is up there with generation defining hardware such as N64, Dreamcast and PS3.

I'm bored of the PS4 already.

skipping the Switch in favour of giving people irrelevant graphic engines is just short sighted and ultimately not delivering the best experiences they could be doing.

Re: Monster Hunter: World Confirmed for Rival Platforms, is Skipping Nintendo Switch

Shinobi1Kenoby

This is disgusting and ridiculous that Capcom would dump the fanbase platform that has kept this franchise going for the last ten years and then NOT bring it to the console that IS the future of online gaming.

Monster online anywhere in the world using my mobile as a hotspot or using WiFi while I'm out and about? Could have jumped into a huge beutful world from anywhere in this world and instead I'd have to be glued in my front room to my ridiculous PS4? Won't be buying this on PS4 and only hope Capcom relent and realise they should be bringing this to Switch.

Unless they are in the throws of building a full MH title solely for Switch, which is what all companies need to be doing. Porting PS4 isn't gonna happen, but if the Switch userbase numbers warrants it's own build, there'[s a chance that Switch could eclipse PS4 and become the dominate platform for developers.

Re: FIFA 18 on Switch to Include Ultimate Team, EA Boasts of Most 'Advanced' Portable Version

Shinobi1Kenoby

All ea sports needs is the Ultimate team mode and the online league like EASHL and whatever the equivalents are in the other sports.

Story mode is just padding and a load of crap.

Instead of focusing on what mode isn't there, they need to be screaming that this is the ONLY true online and offline multiplayer version of any ea sports game.
I will buy sports games on Switch over my PS4 every single time.

Just wish they'd have done NHL instead of crap soccer

Re: Nintendo's Online Service For Switch Will Offer "Ongoing Access" To Classic Games

Shinobi1Kenoby

@olrodlegacy that's because that's a retarded thing to say.

A physical N64 cartridge from 20 years ago isn't going to be re-downloadable now is it?

Now an already purchased Wii virtual console game being re-downloadable on Wii U for a reduced upgrade fee of £1.50 over the full Wii U purchase price of £3.99-£7.99 was in place for the whole of the Virtual Console on Wii U.

Therefore what I'm saying is something that is already happening on the Virtual Console right now, and is very much exactly how that works.
If a rental service or re-buy approach is taken with virtual console this time when I have just heavily supported the failed Wii U in terms of digital content purchases then I will not be shelling out again for something I've already bought from them. An upgrade fee I'm happy with, renting or buying AGAIN, I'm not.

Goldeneye will also never be available on anything ever again except the N64.

Re: Random: Watch What Happens When You Drop a Switch from 1,000 Feet

Shinobi1Kenoby

Whenever I world in game stores when I was younger, during N64, Gamecube days I always touted the insane durability of Nintendo console, a game could be rolled across the floor while running and it wouldn't skip a beat.

But a 1,000 ft drop for a tablet style console and survive!!!? That is ridiculous and deserves a trophy for all time

Re: Random: Solving the Joy-Con D-Pad Problem With a 3D Printer, Sort Of...

Shinobi1Kenoby

@Alikan playing street fighter portably means you've got to take your pro or 8bitdo controller with you, that's not as portable as having a proper left joy con.

They should have packaged a left joy con with d-pad and sold the button variant for those who might want a more local multiplayer array.

But doing it this way around means Nintendo will sell more alternate left joy cons. Smart 😜

Re: Random: Solving the Joy-Con D-Pad Problem With a 3D Printer, Sort Of...

Shinobi1Kenoby

A better idea is to buy the 8bitdo SNES pad and far cheaper than a 3D printer. Ultra street fighter II and an 8bitdo pad is the best street fighter purchase I've made in 30 years.

A better idea again would be for Nintendo to release an alternate left joycon with the 4 buttons replaced with a 4-way d-pad I know I'll hardly use the left joy con for two player and having a d-pad to play retro on my Switch would get far my use in my house.

Re: Review: Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers (Switch)

Shinobi1Kenoby

Sorry, but playing street fighter II - online - using the 8bitdo SNES controller was worth every penny and I couldn't recommend it enough.

Sincerely the best version of the greatest fighting game ever made

It's also £15 cheaper than Bomberman which is by a clear mile the most extortionate Switch game in terms on content per £1

Re: Talking Point: ARMS Has Plenty to Prove In Its Nintendo Direct

Shinobi1Kenoby

@Samuel-Flutter punch-out is a boxing game. The fact that the AI uses an old school pattern based program to present a challenge makes no difference. That's like saying street fighter II isn't a fighting game because the AI opponents repeat a pattern.

Put any punch-out game into two player mode and you instantly remove the AI and have what you would rather call..... a boxing game.

Your addressing half the points, theithers seem to be a mush mash of mis-understanding mixed with your views on unrelated topics, and I'm confused as to why that is, not confused by what you're actually saying

Re: Talking Point: ARMS Has Plenty to Prove In Its Nintendo Direct

Shinobi1Kenoby

@Samuel-Flutter I'm not commenting on the dungeon design I'm commenting on the game design and structure and the vast comparison between the two styles of gameplay.

Punch-out is a boxing game, its not knockout kings, but it is a boxing game, it is also Nintendos opportunity to upgrade it from a retro old school pattern based game mechanic to something far more relevant and involving.

You're kind of agreeing with some things I've said and then arguing something's I haven't said and it's getting confusing haha.

Re: Talking Point: ARMS Has Plenty to Prove In Its Nintendo Direct

Shinobi1Kenoby

@Samuel-Flutter what?

I'm saying old Zelda was heavily sequential dungeon based gameplay. Breath of the Wild has changed the Zelda formula to create a much bigger, richer and more relevant game.

I'm also not saying arms should be punch out, I'm saying why even bother with newboxing IP arms when they already have the well known Punch Out that they could done so much more with.

They need to steer hard away from the Wii image as well and games like 123 Switch and Arms don't really help

Re: Talking Point: ARMS Has Plenty to Prove In Its Nintendo Direct

Shinobi1Kenoby

@Samuel-Flutter because the dungeon puzzle mechanic was dated and need refreshing and was done successfully in Breath of the Wild.
The same way Resident Evil 4 revitalised yet another classic IP that was going stale.
Rhythm based boxing game is never going to sell big numbers.

Nintendo have just made a new boxing game. It seems odd they didn't package the Punch-Out IP into this design process.

Not sure what's so mis leading

Re: Talking Point: ARMS Has Plenty to Prove In Its Nintendo Direct

Shinobi1Kenoby

@Samuel-Flutter Punch-Out in its current form is wholly irrelevant in todays industry, to short lived with low reward and no scope for online multiplayer.

Finding a way to bring an old IP into this era is a good formula to use. Just look at Breath of the Wild; the best Zelda by a clear mile. Whether it's as important for the time it was released in is another argument that I'd see Ocarina of time win.

But making such a treasured IP relevant all over again could do with doing to a lot of Nintendo IPs

Re: Talking Point: ARMS Has Plenty to Prove In Its Nintendo Direct

Shinobi1Kenoby

It definitely does need to come out swinging. I've zero interest in this so far and watching only in the hope they show a few other games, or at least at whatthe next direct may cover.

Honesty believe they should have rebirthed the Punch-Out IP with this title instead the "Springy The Springfield Spring!!!" Characters

Puts me off, even if the gameplay is solid

Re: Random: German Tech Blog Imagines What The PlayStation Switch Would Look Like

Shinobi1Kenoby

I know this is fan made, but it looks....... bloody dreadful.

Wouldn't surprise me however if Sony were already researching and developing something like this. Anyone with half a brain can see the Switch is an incredibly innovative machine with nothing by pure potential to revolutionise how we all game.

Sony will have observed this and be no doubt looking at how it could fit into their hardware library as they always have and will.

I'm not saying they will develop it to the point of release, it would have to be financially worthwhile, but they will most certainly be looking at what they could deliver in terms of competition to the Switch.

PlayStation console is their best point in case.
Playstation Move is bar their worst point in case.
