Awful week, but that's okay as I'm neck-deep in Xenoblade Chronicles right now.

@FullbringIchigo I felt the same way. The series will be 20 years old next year, so at this point there's really no excuse for mispronunciation, especially if the info is coming straight from the source.

Cloud is weird. I really question why they've picked him above a character that was actually on a Nintendo system. As far as I'm aware, Final Fantasy was a Nintendo exclusive game until 7 came out, yet the character picked is from that game. And it's yet another sword-wielding white guy. The female representation in Smash is appalling. With that in mind, why didn't they choose Terra? Many people consider FFVI to be one of the finest JRPGs of all time, so it's not like no one knows who she is.

It's about bloody time they released Hoopa. XY came out two years ago!

Since Super Mario Maker is eating up my time, I'm glad there's nothing I want this week!

@andyg1971 Yes, both Argos and Smyths have them for £10.99. Either Nintendolife is in bed with GAME, or they simply did not do their homework with this article.

As upsetting as it is to me, I feel that they've actually gone and killed the entire Metroid franchise. It's unsurprising that the series is doing poorly if they hold off from making games for almost a decade at a time, and when they finally come out, they're sub-par. We'll see. I look forward to seeing reviews of Federation Force.

This was an epic fail. Where's Metroid 5? Even Metroid Prime 4 would have been great. What the hell have they done to this franchise?

@Pixel-Perfect They can't edit the pledge tiers once they've been submitted (but they can add more). I was also curious about this. In the Wii U update, they tell us that we can back at any tier $28+ and when the survey comes through about which system we want it on, Wii U will be an option.

Looks 100% real, although there is a chance it could be fake. All amiibo prototypes look exactly like this. I think it's just a matter of time before we find out if it's going to be customisable or not (going to say not. Nintendo's not ready for the demand this will cause, although E3 might prove me wrong).

Kirby's Epic Yarn is amazing and I'm glad it's found a home on Wii U. Never played Paper Mario... tempting, but it's not in a sale, so no. Only thing this week for me is the free HOME theme.

Forgive my cynicism, but there is nothing anywhere to say this game will actually be any good. Rare hasn't made an outstanding game in years, and while I realise the game's not being developed by Rare, it may as well be...

ShopTo's price are disgusting. They've raised their prices to £19.85. Almost £20 for a piece of plastic worth £10. Double MSRP is basically scalping. I've had more than a few problems with them this year, and this is absolutely the last straw. I'm never going to give them my money again.

Edit: And also, what kid is going to have £20 just hanging around? Because let's face it, these are children's toys. When I was a child, I'd be buying toys mostly in the £5 to £10 range if my parents would let me. A £20 purchase would be for something special, like a birthday. I really don't understand how ShopTo can charge this much and still sleep soundly at night.

Mewtwo and the Mega Man X Mii costume, maybe. Might give Puzzles & Dragons a try but I'm not expecting much.

@faint It is a port. It has extra content, sure, but it's still the same game. I'd love to play it at some point, but spending £250 just to play one game doesn't sound like much fun.

The video doesn't work through the 3DS, and when I go to Youtube (through the browser), it wants me to download HTML 5 or something. I add to watch this on my PC by crossing my eyes.

I do love Wayforward and Shantae. They make some great games with cool mechanics and beautiful sprite art, but at the same time, they do like to chuck massive, gooshy breasts on every character (even in Contra 4). It's unnecessary.

Xenoblade is horribly overpriced at £40 for a digital port. I don't own a NN3DSXL, and everything else is terrible, so nothing.

Cool, but is something like this even usable? I doubt that triforce would be able to withstand cartridge wear.

Mega Man Zero 3 is a great game but I already own it on GBA. Shin Megami Tensei is tempting but I have so much to play, it's ridiculous. So, nothing for me!

This craze is weird. Sticking any old toy on an amiibo base does not make it an amiibo. Aside from the effort put into making the card backing legitimate, this type of custom is lazy and boring. And ultimately, the creator had to destroy an amiibo in order to get the base.

@DESS-M-8 You may have missed out, depending on where you live. Pre-orders in Europe went up sometime between a few days and a week after the Nintendo Direct announcement. I think GAME in the UK had them up immediately after it ended. Maybe try asking around /r/amiibo on reddit.

Is this actually an FPS or an over-the-shoulder shooter? Those are two different things.

FYI, this is not an old Mewtwo toy. It's the Tomy one and is widely available. Mewtwo is confirmed for Sm4sh already so his amiibo is pretty much definite. Why anyone would want to pay in excess of $250 for a $5 toy in an amiibo box astounds me, especially when the amiibo will probably be out for Summer.

Edit: It would be just as easy to make any Legendary Pokémon into an amiibo. All you need is a spare amiibo stand and the toy. For instance, I could go to Toys 'R' Us and pay £3.50 for a Deoxys in the same series and simply stick that on an old base. Hey presto, Deoxys amiibo.

I really want Shantae but that price just kills it for me. Still playing through Hyrule Warriors, Bayonetta, Smash, Pokémon, and more, so it's not like I don't have anything to play right now.

I too have noticed a doubling in the loading time. Thought I was just imagining it.

I haven't had a chance to try Young Link or Tingle, but playing as OoT Impa is probably one of the coolest things ever.

@OneBagTravel And I loved Twilight Princess. Skyward Sword has moments of brilliance, too (but I agree that it was a weak entry).

I have zero interest in any of these amiibos. Not really surprised that they sold out so quickly, although it's weird Toad didn't go first. Now the only way to get Peach is to pay £69.99 to get the bundle.

It would be AWESOME if some of the stages from the 3DS version could make it to the Wii U. But it's so doubtful and I'm 100% sure Sakurai said there would be no DLC for this game.

The moment when one worthwhile thing comes on Club Nintendo, and it's sold out within a few hours. FML.

This is probably a very unpopular opinion, but I actually hate Donkey Kong Country Returns. It's only challenging because of how unfair it is. There's only one animal friend (Rambi), there are no water levels (best thing about the originals), and there's an entire world of mine cart stages. A lot of people love the game but I just don't see the appeal of rage.

Samus looks like a Geodude wearing chicken stilts in that concept art!

But it's been far too long since we had a handheld Metroid game. The last one was what? Prime Hunters? Bleargh. Seriously. We're dying here.

Nintendo needs to stop annoying half of its fan base in the Western world every time it only lets one side have particular content. We all like the same games. Australia seems to get it much worse than everyone else. My advice to them would be to combine the e-shops and make everyone happy.

Very boring. The NA box art isn't quite as excellent as the standard UK one [although it is still good]. £10 extra for nothing more than a folded poster and that alternate box art is just not worth it. Luckily, I'm not bothered about pre-order bonuses at all!
