Why would I watch Meh-rio Kart when I don’t even wanna play it sadly

I am privy to the fact that bad games are still enjoyable or popular. Not my question. I was only asking if anyone here had played it since recent updates and had opinions on why it is fun to them. The nintendo community has a different perspective on things so I was interested to hear opinions on that. Judging from the comments here and the super insightful reactions to what I said I guess I’m barking up the wrong tree. Thanks for trying though

@Tsuchinoko lol thanks for the clarification.. I was more curious if anyone here has played it enough to speak on the general quality of gameplay now compared to when it first released. I’m curious if it has changed greatly enough to justify a purchase on the switch. If the article promotes it as something I shouldn't miss then I’d like to know why. That’s all.

Hmm.. is this really a “hit”? I played it at launch and I feel like it’s 54 on metacritic kinda speaks for itself. I can’t imagine anything they have added anything since then that would warrant a recommendation in my opinion but let me know if I’m wrong! The concept has potential so I’d love to see it succeed, I just haven’t noticed a measurable improvement when I see gameplay online so I’m skeptical 🤷‍♂️

I’m personally enjoying the new season quite a lot, it feels like a return to form without all the bloat of more recent seasons. To each their own though 🤷‍♀️

@Hajilee i don’t disagree they look extremely similar, but I think unless Nintendo issues a cease and desist to square enix (highly unlikely) then this still falls under fair use. I doubt all the splatoon fans will think it is fair but given the current state of technology where AI is able to copy anything it finds on the internet and claim it as new.. its not surprising really

Its so obviously inspired by splatoon! That isn’t necessarily a bad thing though, I like the somewhat unique take on this style of game and im not opposed to more games like this! It has potential to be fun if the micro transactions are kept to a bare minimum which they probably wont..

Lol what a wild comparison to drum and bass 😂 never thought I’d see that here. Seems to me like you either know that you like it or you don’t. I love both drum and bass and innovative pokemon games, but neither have anything to do with each other.. I know not everything satisfies everyone 🙃 im quite excited though personally

@Captain_Toad thats great to hear! Unfortunately I lost interest before they fixed the voice acting in all stars brawl but maybe ill jump back in to try it out now. It still begs the question of why they couldn’t just release the game in a more finished state from the start, but im happy they listened to the fans at least.

Finally! Voice acting for the characters makes this entire experience leagues above the previous entries, its so hard to describe the weird empty feeling you get playing a kart racer where the characters say absolutely nothing when colliding. This is much much better. Also why I’m not a huge fan of all stars brawl…

I love that this finally made it over here, and in such a gorgeous fashion. It definitely makes me wonder what other hidden gems could have shown off their unique worth in other regions. Here’s to hoping we get more obscure remasters in a similar way 🤞🏼

Honestly it sounds so weird but if the second kart racers had voice acting i would still be playing it alongside mario kart, with no characters saying anything it just ends up feeling dead and lifeless, can’t wait to see that fixed in this release!

This interview is very well written, informative and important to bring awareness to this much needed accessibility for gaming! I don’t personally have any need for a feature like this in gaming, but I can only fathom the happiness it must bring those who do find it useful. I have much love for the developers who take the time to make this happen despite the inevitable time crunch and the reality of it not necessarily being strictly a profitable move. Heres to hoping more games will utilize a broader spectrum of options for their audience so even more people can enjoy games like I do!
