Cool, Korra is in which means I am in.
Nice to finally see my boy (genius), make it into one of these Nickelodeon games. Going on the wishlist for now.
Jimmy Neutron was always my favorite Nicktoon.
Finally! Voice acting for the characters makes this entire experience leagues above the previous entries, its so hard to describe the weird empty feeling you get playing a kart racer where the characters say absolutely nothing when colliding. This is much much better. Also why I’m not a huge fan of all stars brawl…
The second game is great, they should have just released this as dlc. Unless they're adding in all the old tracks.
I think it was more of a leak than a reveal. And I'm worried how it's going to fare as it's "announcement" is being so close to October, Whichever the case, Nick kart 2 made a marked improvement over the abysmal 1st one. So let's see how it fares. And with voice acting out ta gate, This'll fly off of selves.
@Sahnec Voice acting has been patched in Nick All Star Brawl a while ago.
@Captain_Toad thats great to hear! Unfortunately I lost interest before they fixed the voice acting in all stars brawl but maybe ill jump back in to try it out now. It still begs the question of why they couldn’t just release the game in a more finished state from the start, but im happy they listened to the fans at least.
But when are these games actually going to have a budget? Looks decent, but after playing games like Smash Bros, Luigi’s Mansion 3, and Splatoon 3 and seeing how good cartoony graphics can look, this looks so lifeless and dated.
Looking good! Major graphical overhaul from the first two games. I'm really looking forward to this, as I quite enjoyed my time with the second one. Very happy to see Jimmy Neutron and Teenage Robot in there, but when are we gonna start getting some Fairly OddParents representation?
Also, Toph can't drive. She's blind.
I liked the 2nd one and I like that they “borrowed” from Sonic Racing Transformed. Voice acting means I will muting this game as I find after a couple races hearing the same lines over & over gets annoying.
I still can not get used seeing the TMNTs and Garfield as official Nickelodeon characters. I mean, they are, but I still can not see them as such. Hopefully, we see more new faces. Most of the characters were either already in the last two racing games or the Nick-All-Star Brawl. I think the only exceptions are so far Raphael, Odie and Jimmy Neutron. I hope the Angry Beavers get in. The most forgotten Nicktoon from the 90s.
@Captain_Toad Yeah they added it, but too little too late for most. At this point I hope they just copy MultiVersus and end up making a F2P game in a few years...
rev up those fryers cuz help help my leg!
Kart Racers 2 is actually a really good game, hindered by lack of voices but it has loads of characters from the okd Nicktoons and new. Shame Disney owns doug but what can you do. It's also different enough from Mario Kart to warrant both. I may get 3 when on sale but I doubt it is a massive improvement on 2.
@Not_Soos That's ableism, Toph can drive as well as any Sokka.
The second game was a blast, I’m definitely picking this one up
When Voice Acting is a feature...
That said, if it reviews well I might pick it up
@Sahnec but... they added voice acting.
@Sahnec Oh, glad you're happy for the players still keeping it alive, but it's the fault of Nickelodeon for making them rush it out in that state, not giving Ludosity a bigger budget, and Ludosity being so small as well. It was either have a game that functions competently that holds back on features that most would think are standard and add them later, or add those features in, and not have enough time or money to polish the characters or movesets.
Nickelodeon: we own the the TMNT, do we use the versions we created? of course not, let's use the iconic but overused 80s version, that people surely don't get tired of
(seriously nick, you have an awsome TMNT Netflix movie, and you don't even use those versions)
@crosslice Why are you comparing the look of a Nintendo game that's been around a lot longer and has a bigger budget and larger staff to that of a licensed game that was made by a small name developer and only got a bigger budget once nick knew there was a high enough demand for more of it? That's like comparing CTR to GarfieldKart, one was obviously made to cash in on its brand name as cost effectively as possible.
Compared to the other two games before it, this one looks the most solid and close to the Nicktoons style imo.
Over 40 playable characters, that's almost if not more than Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
@Dakotastomp True. I just wish Paramount would take video games a little more seriously cause they’re a huge corporation and could certainly increase game budgets a bit. It’s a little sad that the devs for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl were only able to add voice acting awhile after fans were complaining about it.
@crosslice Unlike Disney and CN who can piggyback on the money their parent groups make to pay their developers more and can give the more time to work everything out, Nick and Paramount don't really have that kind of a relationship. Nick seems to have to pay their developers on their own and probably don't have the money to back up further development, so they only give them a seed fund first and see if it drums up enough buzz before giving them more money to add everything they wanted and tweak mechanics.
That's what I think was the process for NKR, but All star brawl probably should have waited preferably the day that Multiversus was released but chances are it would have been blown out the water in some ways.
@DragotheKomodo Well, you're right. People don't get tired of the '80s/'90s version of the TMNT and generally prefer that version in crossover video games.
@BulbasaurusRex i get tired of them, very tired
simply because from the title Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
the 80s version only succeed in only 2 of those words Mutant & Turtles
they don't act like teenagers & they are far from perfect ninja's
