Re: Review: Bayonetta (Switch eShop)

SLIGEACH_EIRE

@maruse Improved performance is down to better hardware not because of any work they've done. You don't know what you're talking about. You dont get "a code to download the first for free " when you buy Bayonetta 2. You get a discount, just like on Wii U.

Re: Review: Bayonetta 2 (Switch)

SLIGEACH_EIRE

@johnvboy Well I don't see it as good value. Remember that if you buy the first game with it, you only get a download code. You know other 3rd parties that ported their Wii U games onto Switch, reduced the asking price. But it's Nintendo publishing this, so that was never going to happen. Sure it's still full price on the Wii U eShop.

Re: The Simply Named 'Pool' Becomes The Third Pool-Based Game Released On Switch In Just Two Weeks

SLIGEACH_EIRE

@Octane I copy and paste my comments sometimes from other sites that have reported the story earlier instead of repeating myself. So I say that or "as I said elsewhere" in case some smart alec says you said that elsewhere. Like how sometimes I've to justify something is my opinion, when obviously it is just that but people say I say things like they're absolute facts.

Seeing as Monster Hunter World on Switch has been the topic of discussion again and why Capcom don't at least localise MHXX, looking at its Japanese sales there, that could be why they're not bothered with it.

Switch hardware sales seem to have levelled ot around this mark until the next big game releases. I wonder if Kirby: Star Allies will raise the needle.

Re: The Simply Named 'Pool' Becomes The Third Pool-Based Game Released On Switch In Just Two Weeks

SLIGEACH_EIRE

I was reading about this coming to Switch yesterday and seen the video earlier. It's the thurd game of Pool to release in the space of a fortnight. None of them have been great, the other 2 don't have online multiplayer and this doesn't appear to have it either. This looks like the worst of the 3 games. The others are €8-€12, this Pool game should be about €1. I've better free pool games on my phone and they've online multiplayer. Looks like it'll be about €8, what a con. They should release it on 1st April.

Re: THQ Nordic Acquires Deep Silver Owner Koch Media In $150 Million Deal

SLIGEACH_EIRE

"The deal means that franchises separated by the death of THQ - such as Darksiders and Red Faction - are now all under the same banner once more."

Speaking of Deep Silver.

Untitled

THQ slowly morphing back to its former self. I'd heard of Saints Row and Metro. Never got to play them as a Nintendo only gamer. I do remember hearing rumours of Metro coming to Wii U.

Went looking for the story.

Another example of why the Wii U failed.

Also, these were the top 20 selling games in the UK for January.

You also made no mention of Dragon Quest Builders which released last week for Switch. You can see its debut above. It didn't sell that well. You do though mention FIFA 18 and WWE 2K18 but they're not charting for the Switch.

Re: Nintendo Switch Gets A New Lick Of Paint As De Blob Splats Down In 2018

SLIGEACH_EIRE

@Julien Do you've any idea how many notifications a day I get? I can't respond to every one of them. It's easier to make a Wii U port than a 3DS port because the Switch is a trumped up Wii U. Whereas they have to downgrade the game for the 3DS.

"Also seems to forget there are people that, for whatever reason, didn’t own a Wii or Wii U so these remastered ports will be new games to them."

Unless you were too young or didn't have the financial means, you've no excuse for not getting most of these games.

Re: Review: Millie (Switch eShop)

SLIGEACH_EIRE

@zool In fairness, that's what a lot of developers are doing on the Switch, Indies are 3rd parties included, not just mobile phone developers. They're all looking for a quick and easy buck with these cheap ports. Very few are putting original content on the Switch.

Re: Hideki Kamiya Shares Background of Bayonetta 3 Development

SLIGEACH_EIRE

"we’ll almost certainly be glad it did when it comes out later this year."

That's very presumptuous. To me, it sounds like the game is at the early stages and won't be out until next year at least from what Kamiya said:

"It took a while for production of Bayonetta 3 to be okayed, but now that it has kicked off, I hope it will turn into a wonderful encounter for all of you."

Re: Ubisoft Is the Leading Third-Party Publisher on Nintendo Switch

You need to be far quicker. You're only about 12 hours late.

https://www.nintendolife.com/forums/nintendo-switch/what_do_you_think_the_nx_is_poll?start=25940#reply-25951

And you were wrong on both accounts.

What I said about Ubisoft: "Regarding Ubisoft and their claim, they've definitely got the most successful selling 3rd party game on Switch. But in terms of numbers of games released they've not been great, with mainly cheap ports."

https://www.nintendolife.com/forums/nintendo-switch/what_do_you_think_the_nx_is_poll?start=25940#reply-25955

The games they've put on Switch:

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle - Great collaboration
Just Dance 2018 - Garbage
Just Dance 2017 - Garbage port
Rayman Legends Definitive Edition - Brilliant game but a port
Monopoly - Mediocre lazy port

Their only upcoming game announced is "Starlink Battle for Atlas". A toys-to-life game that's not for me. Ubisoft have tonnes of massive games and franchises. It was sickening to watch their E3 show last year and watch all the games skipping Switch. Where's Splinter Cell, Far Cry, The Crew, Assassins Creed, etc, etc? The list is endless. Ubisoft are huge with studios everywhere. They could easily do more for the Switch.

Actually, where's Steep? That was supposed to be coming to the Switch. That's had major issues and is a very late port. It's disappeared into some blackhole. Speaking of hole, there's rumours that they're going to give us South Park: Fractured But Whole. But again, another old port. Maybe Ubisoft are working on a lot of Switch games, but publicly they're shown little real commitment.

"Even without Rabbids things like Just Dance and that are huge."

Can you tell me please what "that" is?

Re: Video: 9 Mario Games We Wish had Never Existed

SLIGEACH_EIRE

@impurekind Super Mario Maker Deluxe is coming in September. They'll use it to launch their paid online plan. What about Miiverse as it's integral to the game you're wondering? It'll get a similar replacement service. It's part of what they'll use to sell the online service. Virtual Console will also be used to promote it. Super Smash Bros. Wii U Switch Deluxe will be their big Christmas title. Their respective release dates could be swapped but I think these will be their 2 big games for that period and for the paid online service.

Not fact, just a hunch. Paying for stuff that used to be free. Online play, Miiverse, discounts.

Re: Nintendo's Ultimate Ambition Is For Switch "To Be Owned By Every Single Person"

SLIGEACH_EIRE

No harm in aiming high even if it is completely unrealistic.

"The biggest attraction of Nintendo Switch is that the console can be carried around and used easily for competitive gameplay via local wireless connection."

Be careful Nintendo, your advertising mask nearly slipped off there and revealed that the Switch is really a handheld and that it's ultimately a 3DS successor.

Edit: And would you look at that. Nintendo have just released a new Switch ad.

The facade is dangling by a thread. When the 3DS dies, it'll disappear completely.

Re: Video: Meta Knight Is Bossing It In This New Kirby Star Allies Trailer

SLIGEACH_EIRE

That's the same video as from the Japanese Kirby Twitter account earlier.

https://twitter.com/Kirby25thJP/status/962884539843452928

Google translation: "In the depths of the mask, a dazzling shining eyes ...
It is the appearance of a lone Knight!
... I thought it was only one, four people! What?
Even though it seems to be strong, I wonder if I can make many such opponents ....
... It's going to be a fierce battle if the sword and the sword collide with each other."
