Re: Review: TurtlePop: Journey To Freedom (Switch eShop)

SLIGEACH_EIRE

Funny this review should pop up now. I was watching footage of the game last night. Its visuals looked sharp and pleasant, and its gameplay seemed to mix up a load of different elements. Shame the review says it lacks focus.

There's several mistakes in the conclusion.

"TurtlePop: Journey To Freedom is an interesting first exclusive Switch offering from Zengami, but it's sadly lacking focus. While its myriad of genres aren't pulled off poorly, their amalgamation might just prove to be slightly too overwhelming for the targeted younger audience. The main reptile protagonists Bebo, Deephi, Slimmie, Smarts, Willis and Sparky sum up the game’s overall feeling: jacks-of-all-trades,(there should be a comma here) yet masters of none. There are several superior individual options of all the genres represented in this game already out in Switch's library, but if you do decide to take a plunge into this adventure, make sure you take someone along for the ride."

There's one other mistake in the paragraph above the conclusion.

Just seen the price tag, that's hefty. Thanks for the review, would you recommend the game for adults only? @Shiryu

I only seen one other review and they were even more harsh, they'd the same complaints and didn't really recommend the game.

"The game is set to launch on 16th March at $14.99 / €14.99. 10tons' recent Switch release JYDGE has apparently mirrored its pleasing Steam fortunes on the console, so the team will no doubt be hoping for a similar success this time around."

Jydge was the same price as this and I'm surprised to hear it had success as it's not a very good game. 10tons aren't a bad publisher, they have some alright games. This probably wouldn't be for me but it looks alright.

@G0dlike No, sorry, I disagree. I think he's terrible and certainly not a patch on Jose. Peer is good at hosting the show, he should do it. I don't know if he's worried that because he co-founded the site that it would seem as favourtism or maybe he just doesn't want to do it. Sam Claiborn would be another excellent presenter, he's gone a great job anytime he had to fill in. The things Flip(as Peer calls him) hopes for in the update are so lame and tame. He's making sure not to step on Nintendo's toes. How's about something useful being added, like a web browser or folders?

@MegaVel91 "You're trolling man."

Really? That's the entirety of your contribution to this discussion? I hope that was a poor attempt at humour or perhaps you were being ironic. I wrote a paragraph on legitimate concerns and criticisms. Only for you not to address the story in any way whatsoever but instead have a pop at me.

I'm not really psyched and don't expect it to sell very well. It looks really easy and is from various accounts. I've seen several videos of Kirby winning boss fights by standing still and doing nothing at all. Can't say I like the 4 characters on screen and would find it distracting. Then there's the framerate. Why is it only 30fps? Kirby and the Rainbow Paintbrush on Wii U ran at 60fps. But let's go further back, I'm fairly certain that both Kirby's Epic Yarn and Return to Dream Land on Wii ran at 60fps as well.

Re: Random: Join Us As We Do Our Best To Guess The Super Smash Bros. For Switch Roster

I tried squinting at the silhouettes before but couldn't really make anyone out. I think I got Bowser, Link, Kirby, Donkey Kong, Kid Icarus, Pikachu, Captain Falcon, Jigglypuff, Yoshi, Mega Man and Samus.

But there's 1 more, or I should say, 2 more. The Ice Climbers, possibly, immediately to the right of Donkey Kong.

I don't want Cloud in this Smash. Never should have been there in the first place. No Snake either. No stupid characters that have no business in a celebration of characters on Nintendo home systems(we've only previously had 1 handheld Smash Bros. game). But let's hear the suggestions for a laugh.

Edit: Here's an interpretation of the lineup. There's more right than wrong. It's from a GameXplain video. I took a screengrab from it and the original video. Sorry some of the image quality is lost in Tweeting the first image.

Re: Feature: The Big Nintendo Direct Summary - 8th March

SLIGEACH_EIRE

It also revealed no new Switch games. The only games that really interested me were Super Smash Bros for Nintendo Switch and South Park: The Fractured But Whole though that game is nearly half price now on other platforms. And despite being 6 months late they're still charging for the DLC already released on top of what no doubt will be a €60 price tag. All the other games I've either already played or have no interest in.

You forgot Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey in the article and the poll.

Edit: If Smash Bros. on Switch is a new game, why didn't they say so? Why hasn't it been mentioned on any site or in their Tweets since? I believe at best it'll be an upgrade of the Wii U/3DS version, a Ver. 4.5 if you will.

Re: Masahiro Sakurai Confirms He's Working On Super Smash Bros. Switch

SLIGEACH_EIRE

@roboshort But they only finished working on it 2 years ago. This will have a few new characters(Inklings we know of, Ice Climbers might make a return and a new character), some new stages and possibly a story mode, something akin to Subspace Emissary. I'd say Sakurai is being consulted on moves for new characters and overall balance.
