Re: Heavy FIFA 18 Switch Discount Sends The Footie Franchise to Number One in The UK Charts

@SBandy Have I missed your comment on the story or do you just want to whinge? Just because I see the news before most doesn't mean everyone should miss out.

All the other Nintendo sites post them on Monday morning every week. They don't say to themselves, "you know, I'm not going to post the charts this week because I don't like how Nintendo are doing". They take the good with the bad.

@JaxxDuffer It's not just monetary but I don't want to see my collection of games being devalued. I bought several versions of games on Wii U, one to open and play, the others to keep for Collector's purposes as Wii U was such a niche console. Now Nintendo are finding another way of annoying those loyal fans who stood by them.

Bayonetta 2 placed at #3 and at #5 in the UK Individual and All Formats Charts respectively. That's a great debut. There's a few things to take into consideration though. It was the only notable new entry besides Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Also, FIFA 18 prevented it from debuting one place higher because the game is on sale at less than half price. The game took top spot in the All Formats chart helped by the Switch version that reappeared for the first time since its debut to sit at the lofty position of #9 in the Individual Charts. There was no delay in posting the charts this week, I wonder why.

@Grumblevolcano Enough already with the ports. It's not just that they're ports but they devalue the Wii U versions. The Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Fortissimo Edition cost a lot of money, still does. If a Switch version is announced that will reduce its value. You only need look at what the other ports has done to the price of Wii U games.

"Am I living in a box?
Am I living in a cardboard box?"

Edit: Is that cardboard box on your head symbolism of the site going to sleep for the weekend?

The motorbike game that lets you scan real-life objects is pretty cool.

We all know what people will do with this and we all know that Nintendo won't let this feature be used online or to share images.

Re: Rumour: Sumo Digital's New Kart Racer Focuses Solely On Sonic And Friends

SLIGEACH_EIRE

Isn't that kind of a regressive step? The more characters the better, it's not like Sonic has a huge roster to choose from on its own either.

The same goes for Mario Kart. Metal Mario, Baby Mario, Dry Bowser, Pink Gold Peach and others. I don't know if Nintendo should just expand Mario Kart into like Smah Bros. with all different Nintendo characters and courses. Sure it started as Mario Kart but had Smash been around on the SNES it could have been different and maybe known as Super Mario Smash Bros. Putting more variety in Mario Kart 8 with more Nintendo characters and courses from their respective worlds made it better, well it definitely didn't make it worse.

Absolutely brilliant game. Everyone should buy it. I bought it on the Wii U for €3 during a Wii U sale, I'd no real idea what it was but it was only €3 so thought why not and I'd heard positive things about it. I was blown away. Best €3 I've ever spent on a game and if I'd known how good it was I would have gladly paid more. I can't sing this game's praises enough. Some people will look at the little yellow bird and dismiss it as some childish game. Wrong! This is a serious puzzle game that will test your grey matter. 10/10

Re: Review: Fe (Switch eShop)

SLIGEACH_EIRE

Reviews scores are a bit scattershot so far.

NintendoWorldReport = 9/10
NintendoLife = 8/10
Gamesradar = 7/10
IGN = 6.5/10
CGMagazine = 5/10
Destructoid = 5/10

Eurogamer don't give scores but if they did, it reads like a 5/10.

Polygon's review is in-progress but they love it.

A couple of things I've noted is it's incredibly short, 3 hours about(Eurogamer: "things do start to come together in the third of Fe's paltry three hours." IGN said the same: "Fe is pretty short as well – it only took me about three hours to complete. After beating the story, the map opens up and you can see how many collectibles you’ve missed in each area. It would likely only take me another couple hours to get everything Fe has to offer, but I’m not left wanting to."). And NWR "can't stress enough that playing in front of a big HD TV is worth making the time for." Platforming doesn't seem precise from several reviews.

I think the game looks really nice. If you didn't know Zoink! Games made this, you'd do well to guess it. It looks very different from what I associate them with.

Re: Review: Bayonetta (Switch eShop)

SLIGEACH_EIRE

@maruse OMG! How can you not understand this? It's not free, Nintendo have factored the cost of Bayonetta into the price of the physical copy of Bayonetta 2. Look at my comment #46. I can't believe I'm having this futile discussion. I'm done.

Re: Review: Bayonetta (Switch eShop)

SLIGEACH_EIRE

@maruse Sorry but you were wrong. Repeating myself here but you dont get "a code to download the first for free " when you buy Bayonetta 2 either physically or digitally. O.K, I'll entertain it, tell me how it's free?

Re: Nintendo Download: 15th February (Europe)

SLIGEACH_EIRE

@justin233 It's happening next week(February 23rd) but it's available to pre-order this week, NL seem to have missed that.

"Toki Tori 2+: Nintendo Switch Edition (Two Tribes Publishing) - €14.99 (€9.99 until March 9)
Pre-order until 23/02/2018, 10:00 CET
Game description: Explore an enthralling forest island, learn magical songs and interact with the local wildlife to solve environmental puzzles.

Toki Tori 2+’s ingenious game design requires just two moves: whistle and stomp. It's super accessible, yet it builds up to incredible complexity later on.

There’s a ton to do, too. After puzzle-solving your way to five Ancient Frogs and saving the island from a strange pollution, you can still find 100s of golden wings, snap dozens of creature pictures and go Achievement hunting."

I've already bought Jotun Valhalla Edition from the discounts available today on the Wii U eShop.

Toki Tori 2+ game should be a mandatory purchase for anyone who has never played it before, it' s an amazing game. I bought it on Wii U for around €2 I think when it was on sale. Pound for pound it's probably one of the best purchases I've ever made in terms of value. Easily one of my favourite games, its cute presentation is deceptive as it's an ingenious game with its puzzles.

Owlboy looks beautiful too and the music from its launch trailer is absolutely stunning.

Re: Review: Bayonetta (Switch eShop)

SLIGEACH_EIRE

@AcridSkull That's when you buy digitally. However, when you buy physically, Bayonetta 2 has the cost of Bayonetta factored into its price.

Digitally:

Bayonetta – €10.00 for purchasers of Bayonetta 2; regularly €29.99
Bayonetta 2 – €30.00 for purchasers of Bayonetta; regularly €49.99

Total = €60

Physically:

Bayonetta 2 with download code for Bayonetta

Total = €60
