The latest UK software sales charts are in from GfK Chart-Track and they show some of Nintendo Switch's strongest titles are still selling well. So Switch games aren't tackling any of the top spots right now, but then again the platform hasn't had any triple-A, mainstream-capturing releases since 2017 so the fact Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Mario Odyssey have held onto the same spots shows just how strong Mario is as a brand.
The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild was finally knocked from the top 10, dropping two places to number 12. Still, at least FIFA 18 and WWE 2K18 are still very much in the mix at four and 18 respectively. The official top 20 can be found below. As usual, the number in brackets denotes each game's position last week:
1(-) - Shadow Of The Colossus
2(2) - EA Sports UFC 3
3(1) - Monster Hunter World
4(4) - FIFA 18
5(5) - Grand Theft Auto V
6(3) - Call Of Duty WWII
7(7) - Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
8(8) - Super Mario Odyssey
9(15) - Assassin's Creed Origins
10(-) - The Evil Within 2
11(18) - Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy
12(10)- The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild
13(-) - Overwatch: GOTY Edition
14(21) - Fallout 4
15(16) - Forza Horizon 3
16(11) - PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds
17(13) - Rocket League: Collector's Edition
18(19) - WWE 2K18
19(6) - Dragon Ball FighterZ
20(20) - Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege

Compare this to the life cycle of the Wii U, when even the big hitters failed to make the charts.
Better late than never. This week's Top 40 UK games charts.

Also, these were the top 20 selling games in the UK for January.
You also made no mention of Dragon Quest Builders which released last week for Switch. You can see its debut above. It didn't sell that well. You do though mention FIFA 18 and WWE 2K18 but they're not charting for the Switch.
Seeing Mario, Link etc in the upper reaches of the chart each week is great, as it means the Switch itself is still selling. The biggest Wii U games occasionally charted high, but disappeared within a matter of weeks due to the majority of the user base buying new games week one & then sales falling of a cliff as they were very little hardware purchases each week meaning very little new users to buy software beyond the week of release. I found it very sad.
Shadow of the Colossus at number one is insane. That and Monster Hunter at number one for 3 weeks in a row and people will still comment the UK only likes COD and FIFA.
@Peach64 because they do 😉
ΟΚ. Now that is progress. That's a better way of displaying the charts of the UK (and any other country). Thanks.
@Peach64 And GTAV. Don't forget GTAV.
Nintendo are actually moving in the right direction in the UK. Good to see
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Fifa 18 for Switch is at number 8 in the Nintendo Switch Top 20 and number 28 in the Top 40 Entertainment Software - Individual Format (Value). I'm sure we'll see it back in the eShop Top 15 too now that it's on sale again. Placing high is nice but generating revenue is better, and FIFA 18 for Nintendo Switch is making money. Incidentally Skyrim Switch has regularly been in the Value chart too, so we may not see it in the headlines but it has been making money, thank goodness.
FIFA 18 on switch went straight into number 1 best sellers on Amazon UK yesterday. Dropped to £23.
I finally caved in @ that price
@MartyFlanMJFan yeah it's all about software having legs.
Publishers are happy with switch sales. Games are doing solid numbers and making profit
‘the platform hasn't had any triple-A, mainstream-capturing releases since 2017‘.
This right here is the problem. Can’t wait till Bayonetta.
@GrailUK yes, this is true. The Switch has quite a number of "evergreen" titles in the UK charts.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE You got it all wrong (as always). I am glad that other Nintendo Life readers have corrected you (as always).
@SLIGEACH_EIRE DQ Builders is at #6 on US e-shop right now. I think it will be fine...
@kobashi100 exactly not every game needs to be #1, this is a marathon not a race.
@Fight_Teza_Fight yep hence why Polygon said the Switch is kinda slowing down and ppl at Twitter went berserk.
@MartyFlanMJFan Sorry but sites don't use the "Value Charts" when posting UK game sales.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Thanks for the de-spun news, as usual. Great to see how will is the ps4 version of fifa 2018 selling on switch.

Good to see, it's not always being number 1 every week it's about sticking high in the charts for weeks. Look at Zelda it's nearly a year old and still going strong.
I'm really chuffed Shadow of the Colossus topped the UK charts. Nice to see 'art-house' games doing so well.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE I know I'm just trying to be more positive, glass half full kinda thing. Sites are interested in the places, the positions, sure, but what games are generating profit is key and that particular chart is interesting to me.
"but then again the platform hasn't had any triple-A, mainstream-capturing releases since 2017"
For crying out loud, we're not even 7 weeks into the year.
@MartyFlanMJFan
Thanks for that, good news. Switch games making money is what will bring more games to the format.
@electrolite77 no problem it's a chart I check every Monday, along with the all format and individual charts, and of course the Switch / Wii U / 3DS only Top 20.
No that can't be right as everyone's always telling me the UK doesn't like Nintendo blah blah blah in the comments here...
Ha, I've only just noticed that Shadow of the Colossus is number 1. Well deserved, it's a beautiful remake of a brilliant game.
Well, considering that practically no one in the UK is actually selling the Switch or it's games I don't think the games are doing that bad. Don't get me wrong... GAME is selling it's usual bundle deals & advertising the Switch (in the smallest section of all the stores I've been into) and Toys R Us occasionally has stock - but Tesco, Asda, Sainsburys and many of the other huge chains that also sell electronics are still Sony/Microsoft exclusive zones.
Out of the many Tesco stores I've been into the only Switch product I've seen is a lonely comfort grip... in the mobile section. A mile away from the huge PS4/Xbox isle.
Anyone else a little annoyed that the Switch seems to be doing so well around the world & even in the UK, yet still has very little presence in retail?
