That stage legit looks like it was made in an in-game level editor, I have no idea how anyone can think that was acceptable. I guess people are still in the denial phase of realizing the game is not as good as they were hoping.
Arms is an awful spectator sport right now. The current meta is to get a small lead and then play extremely defensively to run out the clock. No one likes watching time outs and that's the most reliable way to win. Unless Nintendo makes drastic changes to how the game works don't expect Arms to be anything more than a semi-competitive fighter to play with friends
The combat trial sounds fun, the savage labyrinth/cave of ordeals were my favorite parts of older zelda games.
Hard mode is the biggest disapointment. All it will do is just make enemies bigger weapon sponges and maybe add a few new reskins. The way the game works right now is, as long as something doesn't one-shot you, if you have enough healing food you won't die. Adding something like a fullness meter or a real time animation penalty is needed for the game to be legit challenging and not just cheap. This hard mode just sounds like artificial difficulty.
The other thing that bothers me is the hero's path map feature and the travel medallion. These just add quality of life improvements, they have no place being behind a paywall. Add that stuff to free updates.
@ottospooky My Wii U just randomly decided to stop recognizing my gamepad after only 1 year of moderate use the other day so I'm inclined to believe it. Modern consoles seem to break easier in general, no exception from Nintendo.
Not going to watch a 2 hour livestream but considering how bad the track record of people correctly identifying others as racist and nazis is lately I'm just going to assume nothing of any actual significance happened and no one should care about this whole thing
Really like the game so far but yeah the FPS is one of the biggest flaws of the game. 20 frame villages are gross, but tolerable. The worst is when I'm in a battle with 4-5 enemies and and I need to line up a shot with my bow but then the framerate dives to 15 and makes it near impossible to track with.
Still having fun but considering the gamepad doesn't get used for anything this game would've seriously benefited from being on any other more powerful system
Ditto on bringing back the chronological list here. You gave the option of grid and list layouts in the last design, dunno why you took away the choice and made a cluttered mix of both
Idc about the color change, I liked the blue better but it doesn't really matter that much. Maybe have a bit less red in certain places center screen and just keep most of the red at the top and bottom
Splatoon 2 will probably grow a niche competitive scene, the first game was impractical to run tournaments for(no lan support, 1 Wii U per player, low interest, limited online features etc). Carrying a Switch for local play and easy setup will increase the viability of more competitive matches to actually happen.
The biggest problems I see are Nintendo actually supporting competitive, and overall low depth to their games. Nintendo needs to pump some cash into tournaments for people to show up, which they've never really been known to do.
Modern Nintendo games also aren't very technical either. The top E-Sports right now are stuff like CSGO and Dota, games with huge skill ceilings and lots of intricate mechanics. Games like Splatoon, Pokken and Arms are shallow in comparison. Seeing high level play needs to be impressive to watch otherwise you get no viewers and your scene slowly dies off.
This would be a total hit if it got ported to switch, I can't believe I didn't think about it before. Its got huge mainstream appeal and it would be great for 1v1 portable matches. Alone this game would help move so many consoles
HD rumble is just out-gimmicked by VR right now, its hard to be excited in comparison. Putting them together is the only way I see to make it interesting.
Only exciting announcement was Mario Odyssey. Other than that it was mostly boring stuff like casual minigames, fifa, and skyrim. Zelda trailer at the end was a weak closure, we already knew the game looks pretty good. Paid online multiplayer, 32 gigs storage is lame too. 5/10 conference at best
The game is great, shame it won't get finished but v0.91 is already a near complete package, so I'd say that's a win for the dev and the players in my book.
Oh my god I don't usually care for rom-hacks but this one looks dope, I want new GBC style pokes so bad. Not even going to bother with the armchair lawyer garbage, I'm gonna go find a leak now and actually enjoy myself
I've put an unholy amount of hours into class-shooters so I can agree with Overwatch as GOTY, its pretty much everything I wanted out of a game. Titanfall was amazing too this year, tough choice. Zelda trailers were cool, showing of more interesting locations rather than generic open world plains made the game look way better.
Was actually holding off on getting it on PC for the Wii U version, gamepad inventory sounded great for this game. Still not interested in Switch so might as well just go for the steam version now
After finally playing through the whole game wow this review is so bad lmao

Like did we not play the same game or something lol
"omg stop wasting ur life and make your own IP it'll just get taken down"
The man spent 10 years alone working on this not accepting any donations. Like jeez ya think maybe the guy didn't want to make any money. Maybe the guy didn't want his own IP. Maybe he just wanted to remake a game from a neglected series. We got AM2R, its on the internet for everyone, and its awesome. Some people don't want a metroid-ish game, we want Metroid, and that's better than any clone. But I guess doing something just to make people happy isn't good enough unless your profiting off of it
Marketing a handheld version of Mario Party to families makes absolutely zero sense to me
Like, what's any normal middle-class parent going to do, go out and buy a copy + 4 individual 3DS consoles just to play one game, or just break out monopoly from the closet for way cheaper?
For people that don't understand, RAM basically lets a system/PC handle more tasks at once. Assuming the Switch is focusing on mostly being for gaming, 4GB is plenty. PS4 and Xbone have more because they went with the "multimedia system" approach where you could play games and stream or watch tv at the same time or something.
It's clear what the product is, its just hard to tell if the niche is there. I can't see mobile gamers flocking to the Switch when there's not really a reason to. They are probably content with saving the cash and sticking with their phones.
Their biggest chance at expanding their audience are the mainstream console and PC gamers. But that is relient on the games and hoping that people care enough about buying a new system and double-dipping on titles they've already played in exchange for a portable experience.
I already have several things to keep me busy on the go, so I can't find any worth to get out of the main gimmick. It's going to have to be all about the games to sell me on the Switch.

Re: Random: Mario Sports Superstars amiibo Cards Use Really Old Character Artwork
The quality contrast between the daisy card vs the ancient gamecube renders is pretty funny, they did the same thing in Ultra Smash:
Not really a good sign if they're cutting corners in this game too, these cards look like they're fanmade
