Re: Nintendo Seems To Be Deleting Super Mario Maker Levels Without Explanation Or Warning

RTT

@XCWarrior Troll levels can be bad, I imagine it. Those levels should be removed as they ain't fun. But I think the kiddo didn't make the level that bad to be removed. Especially after I read others comments here with some ridiculous and sadistic level designs.

@JLPick Every social media is like that actually. Whenever people interact online some kind of "clades" are created. You better be first and quick or create popular stuff or have a popular nationality. Quality work takes time to get popular and sometimes it gets "crushed" by the current internet trends.

Re: Reminder: Create Your Nintendo Account for a My Nintendo and Miitomo Bonus

@Nego Well this is what I got from the info around. It's just as hazy as you said, hard to find any reliable info and this is what I got:

"Please remember, Europeans and Australians are entitled to receive a Flipnote Studio 3D download code if registration is done within the pre-launch period."

Which I assume is the preregistration period right now. And this will make the Flipnote unavailable for many, unless they include the poeple who could not preregister normaly or add the app to the store (for which we will have to pay, unlike the others).

Hmm, I should explain that more. I live in central Europe. Before NNID I had funds in few countries. Let me describe why was that. You know, I got the system but in its early years there were little retail games I was interested in, so I wanted get some virtual games just to make some use the new console. The only way you can add funds to eShop is by bank card or prepaid card. I'm one of those rare people who don't use payment bank cards so I had to figure out how to pay for those eShop games with the prepaid cards. Now common eShop prepaid cards weren't available here and I literaly had to ask people around the Europe for them, which pretty much forced me to buy games from foregin eShops.

With inclusion of NNID I lost the funds located in the foregin eShops (of course I spent every penny I had to avoid the bigger loss) and I cannot redownload games that aren't available in my eShop. Yes, I know I could redownload the game before creating NNID but I simply forgot to. It happens. With NNID I cannot connect German eShop (after changing the region settings of course) and it immediately logs me out. Now I want to play German version of Zelda and I cannot. It is marked as N/A in my eShop and cannot get it from German eShop. I was considering about contacting NoE but seeing they haven't replied to my email I sent them few years ago I doubt they will reply here as well.

Whoa! I wasn't aware of that. I don't play Smash, so I didn't know about that. Are you sure they didn't mention that it was only available for those residents? Usually they put an asterix or something to be safe. But on the other hand I saw in one Direct that StreetPass Relay was about to be launched here and that never happened, despite seeing the Relay icon, in their Direct, in our capital city. Sigh, Club Nintendo was another failure of them. I'm glad it is over and that's why I'm looking forward for Nintendo Account. But as I see what happens now I have the bitter reminescent of Club Nintendo again.

Oh boy, I apologise for long text

Re: Reminder: Create Your Nintendo Account for a My Nintendo and Miitomo Bonus

@Nego Let me tell you something. Flipnote Studio 3D had been revelated like in 2013. In 2015 they had said Europe will get their Flipnote around September 2015, when the news about the new programme will be revelated.
It's 2016. Now, from what I understand, we need to preregister to Nintendo Account to get the Flipnote for free (and seeing that the app was Club Nintendo exlusive for NA, this may be as well the only way we can get the app). The problem is: I cannot preregister "due to my country settings". They would better add some revision for those who cannot preregister now because this is seriously not fair.

With all I have seen since 2012 I feel like with each step forward Nintendo makes 2 steps sideways and one backwards. Like, since they forced us to use NNID, I cannot play German games I paid for way back then - I simply cannot redownload them. It's not region lock anymore, it's country lock now.

Re: SNES Games Finally Arriving on the New Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console

RTT

@Gridatttack To keep you informed. The manual states: "reduces the game screen to oits original Super Nintendo resolution. The screen width differs from the original game, but this provides the sharpest display".

The game by default is a little bit stretched with nasty blur visible. With Original Resolution (this is how the manual refers to it), the display is more rectangular and the pixels indeed appear to be sharp.

Re: SNES Games Finally Arriving on the New Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console

RTT

@Gridatttack Well, then it seems only GBA games works bad on the old model, SNES games running okay. As I said, I never tested SNES games, so I'm not sure how they work. I assumed they could be emulated similarly to GBA as the hardware was similar. It's fun to see what Homebrew can do, heh.

The pixel perfect mode, you mean the Virtual Console, not emulators on Homebrew, right? I'm going to buy EarthBound soon and I then will see if it works.

Re: SNES Games Finally Arriving on the New Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console

RTT

@JaxonH @Gridatttack Just for your curiosity. GBA games works not so good on 3DS (Homebrew Launcher) but great on N3DS. While amulation is posible on the older system it seems that indeed N3DS has the power to run them smootlhy. Didn't tested SNES but I guess they would work similarly.

Anyway, to contribute to the discussion: I can finally play those SNES games I have never been able to as I didn't have the system. I'm going for EarthBound and Zelda. Yet, they are pretty pricey (10$) and I still don't understand why WiiU got GBA while N3DS SNES...?
I read above in comments that there was something called "perfect pixel" mode announced in the American Direct. Does anyone knows if this can be expected in Europe? I would assume so, but ya know, its Nintendo - you will never know what they will do.

Re: A Wii U and 3DS Nintendo Direct Is On the Way

RTT

@Henmii Both aren't released in the central Europe. I'm not sure if Scandynavian countries got them as well - all I know Scandynavians got the info that they will be launched in March. Meaning that pretty much West Europe can enjoy the features at the time being.

Despite Nintendo Account being shown available at the start in like the whole Europe (as seen here - https://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/en/library/events/160203/img/48l.jpg ), it is still unavailable in countries that didn't get Miitomo: https://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/en/library/events/160203/img/53l.jpg

It isn't the first time when they show something similar in their videos and then there is no effect in reality. I recall that in one Direct they shown Streetpass Relay in my country being to be launched. Nothing like this happened since. It's been like 2 years since that Direct.

Re: Live Blog: Watch the Pokémon Direct - Live!

RTT

Transfering GB pokemon. Yes. I wish they could do that with the real games, haha. But hey, will that make the Pikachu from Yellow special?
I thought they will show the legendaries for upcomming games but oh well. Didn't expected much. I hope it won't feel rushed like XY.

Re: Pokémon Photo Booth Can Now Be Downloaded Off of the App Store

RTT

@RadioShadow Troublesome to upload anything. Nowadays everything is done by touch of a but, oh, screen. I'm not even sure, but I think you might as well unscrew your 3DS and get the SD card out to post the pic.
And as Mogster said, the quality of the camera is medicore, to said the best (yet I still enjoy it!).
I'm actually happy this one missed 3DS. It would be mess on the system while it is fun on smartphones...
...At least iOS ones...

Re: Pokémon Red, Blue And Yellow European Pricing Is Confirmed

RTT

@Zombo "Also I fail to see how this is gimped when it still has every feature the originals promised." No colors on R/B is a major feature that I will miss in those VC releases. Also I'm pretty sure many of the other "features" the original English version had were cut.

Re: Pokémon Red, Blue And Yellow European Pricing Is Confirmed

RTT

@Onion While you have your point there (N64/stadium connectivity), having the game on a modern system, a system than you take with you everywhere, is a major plus (and I know how trouble some is to carry around several gaming systems suited for different weather and daytime just to play on the bus or tram). The price is also a little bit lower than for the real card (though I belive it will cost equally expensive as the original in my country, sigh). Also: nostalgia googles. In my case, I am also wondering about the glitches - I simply want to test the software.
Note: we own two Blues, two Yellows, two Golds, two Crystals and one Silver. We have two GameBoys Colors, Link Cable and N64 with Stadium 2 game. Everything is working, yet we will be still buying those ;P

Re: Pokémon Reorchestrated Has Its YouTube Channel Taken Down Due to Third Copyright Strike

RTT

It's funny because just yesterday's night I had this conversation about making money on others IP - so called fanarts, fusions, remixes - gray area. And then Pokemon Reorchestrated came in the talk. About the guy and how he makes money on remixes. I remember being positively suprised that he can do that. And I recalled one post from them, where they were amazed because one of the pokemon music creators commented with favourable word about their work.
...
I'm waking up today and I find this...

Re: Video: Bask in the Nostalgia of the Latest Pokémon Red, Blue & Yellow Virtual Console Trailer

RTT

@Damo As few said before. Yellow is based on the animated show You get Pikachu as a starter and Jessie and James with Meowth also appear. Since it was made before the first season was finished, some late game facts don't fit.

On topic. That's a nice, althrough a bit long, trailer, showcasing all the important aspects of the games. I'm going to buy one game definitely, even if it will be ridicoulously expensive here (and I know it will be), just for the sake of nostalgia and to experience the games on 3DS. And to test what they did with glitches. While I hope for the glitches to be still there I am aware they may cause issues; some are save risky and some could allow to trade a glitch pokemon to somebody as a prank etc.

The only downside is the BW pallete of RB. I play my pokemon games on GBC, so yeah... The trailer looks a little bit dull to me

Re: Review: Goosebumps: The Game (3DS)

RTT

@Squidzilla Don't want to bother but... I can't find the price and blocks it takes (it is a download version as well in the eShop). They were showcased on your reviews and were really helpful at times. Was the info moved somewhere else?

Re: Feature: A Pokémon Retrospective: Generation 6 - 2013 to ????

RTT

After gen 5 I had high expectations for gen 6. But in the end, I was left with mixed feelings. The begining of journey in Kalos was outstanding, well made and complex. But then, suddenly, after being 1/3 in the game, it all got linear and "unfinished", only the music kept up. I had feeling that there was a lot of cut out content and it was forced by the world wide release. Like there was the potential but then they didn't have enough time to finish it properly... That said, it was still more enjoyable than gen 4 and even gen 3. Even if the storyline was a total rubbish that I don't really get.
Remakes somehow managed to worsen my opinion about this generation. In my personal opinion they look worse than the originals, all those ugly textures... Definitely were enjoyable but it was hard to look at them and take seriously...
As for continuation, I think there is a possibility of a game that will be a mix between Hoenn and Kalos (as their storylines interact with each other in gen 6), the final "third" version. And most probably they will make sure we turn our eyes on NX. Just like they did with Pokemon Dream Radar and 3DS.
