Re: Switch On Track To Surpass PS2's Lifetime Sales In The US

@johnedwin Of course people could have bought several PS2's for their homes: one console per bedroom if one had more than one child. You have no evidence for your claims. Stop fanboying or trolling. It's kinda sad to see.

@WiltonRoots Takes you back to the good old days of that Irish troll, remember?

Re: Best Ace Attorney Games Of All Time

Justice for All might be the weakest of the three games in the original trilogy, but it has my favorite AA case of all time, the last one.

Edit: I just realised I already wrote a comment about this case in this comment section over two years ago. Time flies.

Re: Suika Game Gets A Special Christmas-Themed Update, Here's A Look

This game is lovely, but I'd wish for some permanent upgrades: to be able to change themes and music would be nice. The music just being on a constant loop with an awkward pause in between feels kinda cheap. I know it's a low budget game, but now that it has hit fame, some extra effort would be nice.

I also think it is annoying that the M in "my score" on the Rankings screen is not capitalized, lol.

Edit: Just noticed that it says "Daily Raning No. 1", not "Daily Ranking No. 1" on the Rankings screen. Seems the translation was rushed.

Re: Square Enix Asks Fans To Consider Dragon Quest Monsters eShop Version After Physical Release Sells Out

@VoidofLight I believe the Megami Tensei series, starting in 1987, are considered the first monster collecting games, but Dragon Quest V from 1992 is also an early example, predating Pokémon. Pokémon is what really popularized the genre though, probably because it got a world wide release and focused more on the collecting aspect than the RPG elements found in the other franchises mentioned.

Re: Nintendo Reminds Fans Zelda Is Up For Nomination At This Year's Game Awards

@JohnnyMind While I myself got burned out on the game after 40+ hours, I think it is a high quality game worthy of the praise it has gotten and it is a title that I will return to eventually (I loved BotW and played it the same way, with pauses in between). It is not a perfect game, but as you said: no game is.

But latley I've seen a trend of people hating on the game just because. I get that it is not for everyone, that it has some pacing issues and that some people want the old 3D Zelda formula back. Totally valid points. The game is not excluded from criticism. But a lot of the negativity I've seen is more in comparison to other games, especially now during the GOTY discussions, with it being called DLC and a carbon copy of BotW and that only blind Nintendo fanboys sees it as a masterpiece. I doubt a lot of those commenters have played the game at all, they just wants to put it down because it is in competition with their own favorite game for a stupid award. And of course there are TotK fans putting down the other games being nominated, to be fair.

As I said, the GOTY award (the Game Awards one, because it's the only one that matters apparently) is creating a toxic environment. It's just an industry award, by industry people, for industry people, presented during a show filled with ads and not a lot of substance.

My favorite game this year is Super Mario Wonder. Do I care if it wins some awards or not? No, because that doesn't impact my personal enjoyment of the game. Do I get that it is not for everyone? Yes, because taste is subjective.

Enjoy the games you enjoy. Criticise when you have valid points, but don't crap on other players taste just to validate your own.
