Listened to Nate's podcast. To me it sounded more like speculation than any real insider information. That being said, Game Boy games on Switch Online isn't that unimaginable.

@Luigisghost669 Yeah, there are some pretty good Disney games from the 8- and 16-bit eras. Let us not forget the Capcom Disney games. Awesome stuff!

@Luigisghost669 Yeah, nostalgia plays a big part of it, never really clicked with SMB3 as an adult, as I never played it as a child, but did play some 1, 2 and SMW, which I have great memories of. 3 is still great, of course, I have it on GBA, but it's not my favorite 2D Mario.

On the Mega Drive, I had:

@Luigisghost669 Well, I had like six games for the MD and none of them were as good as SMW or ALttP, that some friends had. Still loved the MD though. Games like Golden Axe and Streets of Rage will forever be a part of my childhood (and now I have them on Switch).

Great console, though I owned a Mega Drive at the time (but wished I had a SNES). Happy b-day!

I only have the DS version of Radiant Historia. I haven't played it that much, but I quite like it, even if it feels like it has a slow start. Bet the 3DS version is improved, but it's one of the most expensive physical Atlus games out there.

Yeah, the bleak feeling Nocturne gave me is enough. Therefore I have high hopes for V. And hopefully it's easier to travel and save in the new one. But overall I liked III, even though I had to consult a guide from time to time, as I wanted the true ending.

Atlus games are usually very expensive , but the SMT ones are especially pricey. I'm not willing to pay 3000 SEK for one game, no matter how good it is. 😬
I only have two SMT games in my collection, Devil Survivor 2 on the DS and Nocturne on Switch. But if you count Persona 4 on PS Vita and Persona Q2 on the 3DS, I have four. Oh, and Tokyo Mirage Sessions maybe counts? 😁 I'm always on the lookout for good deals on Atlus developed/published games, as they often give you a great time.

@Murbs Agreed! I've also preordered those three titles, and though Metroid Fusion is one of my all time favorite games and Advance Wars being a series filled with nostalgia, SMTV looks like a GOTY contender.

@christofilth Yeah, it's actually been a good year for Switch owning JRPG fans overall. Don't forget Ni No Kuni II is coming soon, plus we've got Bravely Default II, Ys IX, Trails of Cold Steel IV and Disgaea 6, alongside HD remasters like SMTIII, Legend of Mana and SaGa Frontier.

Do we count Miitopia? 😅

On a more constructive note: just finished SMT III Nocturne on Switch (a true PS2 game, lol) and while it was a great game (8/10 in my book), I really look forward to the quality of life improvements that must have been added to the gameplay in V. And yeah, this game looks very lived in (even if it's mostly demons). In comparison, Nocturne felt very desolate (which, in a way, added to the charm).

Hope to get hold on a physical copy of SMTIV (got it digitally on my 3DS), but it's expensive as hell...

@Venus_Adept Yep, it was a dumb joke, based on dumb comments I've seen. Even back when the first trailer was revealed it looked much better than a PS2 game. I think the PS2 comments regarding Nintendo games are fanboys trolling.

Not sure about No More Heroes III, but will definitely get Ni No Kuni II and the new WarioWare.

I'm glad this is a less packed month. July has been insane for me.

This game is amazing! Story, characters, setting, gameplay, music – all top notch! The only negative things are the graphical inconsistencies (some parts are beautiful, others really ugly) and the framerate issues in some sections of the monastery.

The game I've had most fun with so far this year is New Pokémon Snap. Not sure it will end up my GOTY, but it was a great experience and I'm excited for the upcoming free DLC.

I remember what a pain in the ass it was to get Porygon in the original games. Seems a lot easier here, lol.

Lovely game, and the music is awesome! At first, I was confused when I heard the sung version of the main theme... wait, is that Swedish? The lyrics are kinda weird, like they have been "Google Translated" into Swedish from the language they were written in. But cool nontheless!

Will get a copy. D&P launched around the time when I lost my interest in Pokémon so never really gave them a chance, but I understand that they are fan favorites. Seeing as the DS copies are quite expensive nowadays, these remakes looks like a good option.
