I really hate how Pokémon have become "characters", almost becoming Disney-like in their treatment regarding their unique traits. I mean, it's okay here and there, but I miss the times where they were depicted as wondrous wild creatures as opposed to characters.

These days, their designs and behaviours are so overly-characterised. There's more than one Pikachu, or Quaxly, for example, so each Pokémon – even of the same species – should have their own unique character. But now that each entire species is depicted as a "character" ruins the magic of how we used to perceive them, at least for me.

This book's title just solidifies the current depiction and treatment of Pokémon.

Mine stopped working, and the funny thing is that I have 2x docks, where the LAN ports seemingly stopped working on both near enough the same time. So after all the usual troubleshooting (disconnecting all cables and turning off/on the power etc.), nothing worked, and it made me think it was the Switch 2 itself. Alas, I solved it by using an ethernet adapter (which you shouldn't need in principle), but this allowed LAN to work again for both my docks. I'm sure the phone-USB-C method works too, as I've seen!

I love the idea of Charles Dance for Ganondorf – I even used to call that out when watching GoT back in the day! Though, it'd be better if the actor was beefier. Maybe Jason Momoa?

WW Ganondorf is so overrated, I'm not sure why many people in my circles like him.

Smash Ultimate's depiction of him is near perfect (it's probably more OoT-skewed than TP), but I'd take that with OoT and TP over WW any day. Even HW's is really unique and menacing. I'll judge ToTK's in full after the game's out...

I'm playing on PS5, but Switch-specifics aside, this is a great game. I think this is a super harsh score.

Aside from the not-so-great cutscenes and Sonic's abnormally deep voice, the game's great! Very addictive and has a BANGING OST.

It's really not that bad. People expecting Mario 1:1 from the games, but this is fine for the transition to the big screen. It's NOWHERE NEAR Sonic levels. I think the subheader is unnecessary.

I agree about the characters. I don't think I liked a single one. Seems like they tried too hard in places, with people like Prof Laventon.

I thought it was inspired by the DX chop from WW(F)E! I used to yell "Suck it!" when that happened in the game back in the day. Just writing this makes me think it's not gonna be part of the new game now haha.

Even if you've finished Ring Fit, I've found that there's so much more you can do to make it part of your daily routine. For instance, Ninty Europe published this last year I think, which really helps!

You know, while I'm happy OoT and MM are finally on Switch, it just hurts that we never got that HD remake for at least one of them for Zelda's 35th last year. That, or something akin to SM3DAS containing those two + TPHD and WWHD. I understand COVID etc. could've played a massive part in production plans, but the anniversary was underwhelming overall.

I'm one of those people who wish Smash DLC would last forever, but for the sake of characters like these, thank god it's over. Let's be honest, these two would've made the cut as new fighters as a shameless way to market the game à la Corrin and Byleth. Plus, they're very samey to the many bipedal fighters in the game. Sorry, I know we're not talking about Smash here, but that's all I could think about upon a closer inspection of Noah and Mio's designs. Hope the game is great otherwise!

Already found Bulbasaur in Viridian Forest, and Charmander in the patch of grass just before Mt. Moon. That's 2/3 before Cerulean City, and I'm sure I'll bump into Squirtle soon.

Never seen Venusaur move so fast (aside from in the anime)! It's weird to see it gallop like that, but I love it, strangely.

The original writeup @SM4SHshorts did was great. While convincing, I never did end up getting the first one, so if this is exactly the same but just themed Mario Kart, count me in!

I managed to acquire the whole set for the last three years/waves, without ordering a single burger or portion of fries.

I'd say that although their quality has slightly dipped over the years, their functionality as toys have improved.

Looking forward to what 2018's wave has to offer!

I really wish I cared, seriously. Was so good, but the lack of big updates early on, almost becoming a chore to play effectively, and eating away at my phone (and time for that matter) made GO impossible to continue for me.

I actually saw this at a GameStop in Germany last month, and thought it was old due to the 2015 limit. If I'm not mistaken, I think it was around 30 EUR. I'd have still bought it if it weren't in German.

What the hell is wrong with some people here? I understand humour etc., but some of these comments are so insensitive. I've never known the NL community to be that of a toxic one, but what's on show here suggests it.
