@Mijzelffan Seriously? Have you even been on the site for like the last half a decade? I think that's what makes this site special, a mix of news, reviews, features, and opinions.
An excellent read. Like with many of your articles, I seem to mostly agree with a lot of your thoughts @SM4SHshorts. I've felt the same way, and even though USUM were great, it just didn't have the spark it used to on me (and I'm confident it's not just age and nostalgia talking).
I haven’t voted yet as I want to see the results a little later, but I must say this has been an exceptional read, and took me on quite the journey!
Great idea. Loving the matching images you’ve made too, for example Mario and Link on their trusty steeds in the Wii era (which is what SMG2 and SS are all about), and then the duo in their four-legged forms in the Wii U era (which again is what SM3DW and TP are all about).
Thanks but no thanks. As @SM4SHshorts mentions, Pokémon isn't quite doing it for me anymore like it used to either.
I suspected when the initial trailer released that these didn't look like anything to bother with, and that they would just be a quick and easy way to milk the seventh gen, and I think it's safe to say that my hunch was correct, at least from my POV.
Sure, Alola did need a revamp, and I'd have maybe bought-in to some DLC - but certainly not a full-priced game which is, for the most part, more of the same.
@erv Fair enough, but if you did indeed read the entire thing then you'd see that the writer does indeed enjoy and credit the game - again all he's doing is comparing typical 3D Zelda elements to that of BotW. A "whinebox" as you call it would simply berate the game and say "other Zeldas are better this one sucks", or something of the sort.
@andisart I work in digital, I get how sites work, believe me. But if you look above, almost half of the people commenting agree with this article, and to some extent as do I. Can people no-longer share opinion pieces without the notion of there being some sort of plot or game plan behind the content?
Heck, I'm sure most of the writers who write for this site do so on a voluntary basis because they want to share their thoughts and opinions on something they love, regardless of how many clicks their articles generate.
@andisart It's an opinion piece that a writer has taken the time to put together for people to read that are interested and/or agree.
I've never understood when commenters unnecessarily throw out the word "clickbait", especially when the article does what it says on the tin. It costs you nothing but a minute or so to get a gist of an article, and even less to click away if you're not interested.
@erv This is a gaming site dedicated to both news and opinion pieces. The fact that you outright admit you haven't even read it says a lot about your statement.
The writer clearly states his love for the game - all he's doing is comparing it to the 3D Zeldas we've all grown to love. Have a read of the article before throwing out your jabs and going off on a tangent.
I personally didn't agree with absolutely everything, but it was still a good read and I see the points he makes.
@Reginald Krystal didn't even make top ten. Read the para in italics:
"Before finalising this article, Krystal actually secured first place by a great margin. However, after a bit of digging around, we found out that some cunning voters (mostly those not signed into the site!) were so passionate about the character that they tried to pull a fast one and "rig" their votes - cheeky! Nevertheless, as this writer already wrote-up Krystal's analysis (and made her graphic), we thought we'd keep it in here before revealing the poll's true number one!"
As much as I love M.Bison (if you couldn't tell already), I had to go with Bomberman - he would be so much more fun from a mechanic standpoint.
As for some of these comments, they're amusing - people really do need to chill. Yeah Golden Sun's Isaac should've been there, but big deal - there's the "Other" field option for a reason. These comments would be understandable if this option was absent, but just because your favourite(s) aren't in the initial list, there's no need to throw toys out the pram. You can still vote for your Genos and whatnot, so go for it and be done with it!
Besides, I for one was happy that the Isaac from Binding of Isaac was included, to accompany Shovel Knight in the "indie" bracket.
@DiscoGentleman I'm not really sure how you can label this article as "clickbait". Not only does it concern quite a key piece of knowledge to any Zelda fan that we've finally gotten an answer to, but it's prefaced with a "don't click for a small spoiler" tagline. I understand though, it's an easy bandwagon to jump on ^_^
Interesting! Like many, as much as I look forward to Gen II, this seems very logical and could be what Nintendo need to maximise revenue on Sun and Moon. Realistically, this major update will arrive in December, but it could still prove effective after a month of S&M's release.
Awesome read, very much agree for the most part. I actually skipped MP10 thinking it would just be a HD MP9, but I may grab a preowned copy or something based on what I've read here.
I don't understand all the hate these videos get...
Sure, the animations are a little clunky and areas aren't as populated as they could be, but for the most part these visuals are incredible.
I keep seeing "This isn't Zelda blah blah blah", but was Wind Waker regarded as possessing the conventional art style of other Zelda titles when it first arrived? No. But now look, it's been widely accepted across the Zelda community and even regarded as one of the greatest LoZ entries of all time.
I say give it a chance, I for one would LOVE to play a Zelda game with visuals of these thereabouts. Each game changes in art style and design, so why not give something like this a shot in the future?
Great article, truly hit the nail on the head! It's not just you, I feet the same about online modes in Pokémon games. Also - loving the Instagram page
@andyg1971 Comments like these...sigh...It was pretty interesting if you ask me - it came directly from an interview with the developers themselves, and answered those who were wondering about it. Not everyday is going to hold news about the latest game footage of Zelda U or confirmed Smash DLC etc. The article clearly interested you since you've taken the time to comment on it.
@WaxxyOne And another one jumps on the bandwagon. Yes, the point has been stated. But it IS worth speculating about, as there is fair circumstantial evidence even though it's probably not true. Nothing is claiming fact here. It's harmless. Everyone needs to chill.
@Uberchu LOL wow. Firstly, that doesn't make it "clickbait". Secondly, the unlockable characters ARE there but are all contained in a '???' panel. Obviously, DLC characters don't count as unlockable and would belong in the main carousel (as they're not spoilers). Think before you bash the damn thing.
Wow, some people are so quick to nip at NL's heels. The article clearly does NOT assume that the panels are definitive evidence of anything happening. It's just speculation of a theory that is backed up by fairly coincidental evidence. Read into it how you want to. Is it possible that it's just the formatting and layout? Absolutely. But could it actually mean something? Of course. We won't know for sure until Nintendo says anything. I'm sure with or without this article, NL do just fine I'm glad it was posted, and it's actually got me hyped whether it's true or not. I've seen FAR worse "clickbait" articles, if this can even be regarded as one.

Re: Review: Brawlout (Switch eShop)
Great to see companies inspired by Nintendo giants, but not enough for me personally to spend the money.
Re: Poll: Surprise! A New Zelda Is In Development, But What Do You Want From It?
This article y'all did is a great link to this poll. The comment section is so split, I wonder how many of them will stick to their guns in this poll.

@subpopz "downplays". Have you even read the two paras? It praises SM64 massively.

Happy to see my pick placed 4th, didn't think it would make the top ten at all!
Re: Guide: How To Evolve Your Magikarp Into Gyarados In Magikarp Jump
Finally, a good AND detailed Gyarados guide. The others I came across were rushed, misinformed, and lacked any practical info. Good job NL!
