Re: Team Sonic Racing Drops Opening Cutscene On Switch Due To "Cartridge Size Restrictions"

ProudGrimleal

One missing cutscene is hardly something to get worked up about. It doesn’t take away from the overall gameplay experience. I watched the cutscene on YouTube pre-launch anyway, but whatever.

Off topic, I know there are currently no plans for DLC, but since Mighty and Ray were brought back, I’ve been hoping to see Fang, Bean, and Bark make some kind of comeback as well. This could’ve been a good opportunity for them. They would make sense as a team. Fang could be a speed type, Bean can be technique, Bark is a power type.
Plus, Fang is no stranger to cart racing. Anyone else play Sonic Drift?

Nice to see Nintendo trying to get with the times. Better late than never.

Happy to have cloud saves.

I can call my friends and put them on speaker phone without using a special app, but whatever.

I don’t understand why Nintendo acts like they can’t easily have an emulator for every NES and SNES game they hold the rights to on Switch.
If you want to cut down piracy, you should just provide people a better way to play all of these old games.

Re: Video: Here's How Go Vacation On Switch Compares To The 2011 Wii Version

ProudGrimleal

My brother and I put countless hours into this game so I had to have it for Switch day one.

THEY FIXED THE TREES!
Originally they looked like flat pictures put together crosswise, but the tree trunks have been upgraded to more of a 3D octagon.

I haven't had a big issue with blurry edges since the render distance is still SO MUCH sharper than it was on the Wii.

The one thing I was hoping they could add in this time was a way to play hide and seek. It could be as simple as letting players disable maps and icons during LAN play, or it could be an official mini game that gives players time to position (hide) their characters then disables their controls while a seeker player looks for them.

Re: Rumour: Your Super Smash Bros. Ballot Votes Might Not Have Been Used For Smash 4's DLC

ProudGrimleal

It doesn't bother me that Sakurai already had his mind made up for the Wii U/3DS DLC, he knows what he's doing.
I think Sakurai said in an interview that the planning for Ultimate started while he was making the DLC for Wii U/3DS. The Fighter Ballot could've secretly been for Ultimate all along, and it would make sense based on who we've seen so far.
Inklings were a popular choice for DLC based on polls from other websites around the same time as the ballot. (Although I think they were to be expected either way...)

(On the other hand) Fans have been asking about Ridley for a long time, but Sakurai would insist that he's too big. If Sakurai saw Ridley was a popular ballot choice though, it might've finally changed his mind about making Ridley playable.

But the only way to confirm this theory is to have Shrek and Goku in the game.

Maaan...
Three different Links, but y’all can’t give me three separate Pokémon.

I don’t understand why they took Charizard’s super-armored rock smash side special from Brawl away and left him with the risky, self-harming Flare Blitz.

At least they’ve adjusted things so that you can stay as one Pokémon and they not get weaker requiring you to swap...

But that’s just acknowledging how some people would prefer to stay as their favorite Pokémon and not swap, so, like, why bring back swapping?

Re: Breath of the Wild Developers Discuss the Zelda Timeline

ProudGrimleal

The fact that they made a timeline for the Historia was probably just because of the fan demand for one.
What really makes Zelda a "series" are the recurring themes and game elements, and not necessarily the fact that every game's story is related to the others like in a traditional series.

Re: Writer Of Divisive New Mega Man Cartoon Asks Fans To Give It A Chance

ProudGrimleal

We've seen a lot of weird video game story adaptations over the years, so naturally we may be hesitant to trust another, but when you consider some of the story changes the MegaMan franchise has already been through since the original NES games, the concept for this show doesn't seem unreasonable.

That said, I believe this concept has been done several times already: High school boy turns into a hero.
While it still has potential to be good, I fear it'll likely reuse a lot of the same cartoon tropes established by previous shows with the same style and become ultimately annoying. If the writer is good, that may not be the case, but we'll have to wait and see.

All that aside, this show isn't actually being made for us existing fans of the franchise, but for the new kids who likely don't even know what MegaMan is. Though this may not be inline with the traditional MegaMan story, this new style is one that's seen a bit of success on TV now, so Capcom is opting to use it to try to keep the name relevant.

If you feel like this is defiling the character, and you only want to accept the original 8-bit version, that's perfectly fine and understandable. Capcom will likely keep rereleasing the old games for any future consoles and for every anniversary.

If you haven't tried reading the MegaMan comic book series by Archie, ignoring the odd crossovers, I personally highly recommend it. It stays very true to the original story. Very cannon.

If you're looking for a new MegaMan game, your best bet is Mighty No. 9 which (for anyone who doesn't know still) is being developed by former MegaMan writer, Keiji Inafune. The gameplay and story are both very similar to the original MegaMan, and, in my opinion, the game seems, overall, quite promising. (Pardoning some recent, weird advertising.)

I welcome any comments and debates on this.

Re: Nintendo is Getting Into the Movie Business

ProudGrimleal

After seeing the recent Star Fox video, I would totally watch an entire animated series or movie about it.

Fire Emblem has a lot potential. I'm a huge fan, so obviously, I'd love to see anything related to it.

Fans attempt their own live action Zelda films from time to time. I'm somewhat weary of live action, but an official Zelda movie would be a great idea.

Myamoto's Pikmin shorts were neat, but I couldn't really see Pikmin as a movie. It seems like there's not enough to work with. Just keep making games.

Brawl's Subspace Emissary and all of the Smash Bros Wii U character trailers show that it could be an amazing animated movie or series.

Splatoon is popular...
That's all I know about it.
